What is necessary to bring when buying apple care to a Mac Pro

I'm buying an Mac Pro and I will like to know if I put apple care a few months later what will I need to bring ? And will apple care cover ?

Welcome to Apple Support Communities
You don't need to bring anything. Just get AppleCare for the MacBook Pro (note that there's AppleCare for the 13-inch MacBook Pro and another one for the 15 and 17-inch MacBook Pro).
AppleCare covers all non-accidental damages caused to your Mac and extends the warranty for 3 years. It also extends the free telephone support. See > http://www.apple.com/support/products/mac.html

  • Can you buy apple care on refurbished macs book pros?

Can I buy Apple Care on refurbished MacBook Pros? What's the warranty return policy on them? Will it be in Like New Condition when I get it? This is the one I'm interested in. http://bit.ly/1MND29o

    Good afternoon JesseAlexander –
MacBook Pros are such great, reliable products and purchasing it Geek Squad Certified just makes it a fantastic deal as well! In addition to other responsibilities, I spent a few years performing the Geek Squad Certification process on products returned to Best Buy and I know it very well.
To address your first question, AppleCare is sold directly through Apple. I have read through the program Terms and Conditions and I am not able to find a solid answer. I think your best bet would be to contact Apple directly by calling 1-800-275-2273 or visiting their Apple Support website.
We do offer a 15 day Return & Exchange Promise on our Geek Squad Certified products. In addition, we offer a One Year Limited Warranty on them as well. If you are interested in added protection against normal wear and tear or drops and spills, we also offer our own Geek Squad Protection Plan available on our refurbished products. Feel free to click on the links to learn more.
Our Geek Squad Certified products typically begin as returned merchandise that customers changed their mind about. If a problem is discovered during the return, it is automatically disqualified. The returned devices are then given the once-over by store staff and turned over to specially-trained Agents who put them through a standardized process to make sure they are ready to be sold. We thoroughly test and inspect each refurbished device to make sure it works and looks as it did when it first came from the factory.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions regarding our Geek Squad Certified products, MacBook Pros, Geek Squad, or Best Buy in general.

  • When I power up my 2008 Mac Pro I get the "welcome", chime, fan goes on, a light goes on on my Apple monitor and then nothing - black screen.  Whats going on?

When I power up my 2008 Mac Pro I get the "welcome chime", fan comes on, a light comes on on my Apple moniter and then nothing - black screen. What,s going on?

what you describe as the "welcome chime" is the indicator that your Mac has passed the Power-On Self test, and if a suitable source of software can be found, booting is likely.
If the screen stays dark, the most likely explanation is a graphics card failure. But it could also be caused by a backlight failure in the LCD, so be sure you try shining a bright light at the screen to be check whether the picture is there, but just not illuminated.
Graphics card failure will end the boot-up process in some cases, and not have an impact in others. Two external indications you can use when your display is not working are: The Caps Lock key, which is under the control of Mac OS X, and the Control-Eject dialog box shown below. Note that the default is Shutdown, so a Mac that shuts down in response to Control-Eject followed by Return is working fine.

    Hello CarenzaRielle,
I know not being able to access your Apple ID can be frustrating. I have located an article that will walk you through a series of troubleshooting steps to resolve this:
Apple ID: If you forget your password

Refer to the Apple ID Support page if you are unable to reset your password using the steps in this article. If you know your Apple ID password, you can also choose to change your Apple ID or change your password.

  • I took out my superdrive from my MBP and sold it online. Should I still buy apple care?

When I took out my superdrive and replace it with a hard drive, I sold my superdrive and use the money to buy an harddrive. Now, since I did it already and forgot the future possibility of breaking my MBP, is it necessary to buy apple care since I heard that my warranty is voided anyways? So far, my MBP works fantastically and have no problems at all.

Buying AppleCare, at this point, would be a waste of money. You voided your warranty when you replaced your optical drive with a hard drive. Only RAM and hard drive bay customer alterations will not affect your warrany.
You could have, I suppose, kept the optical drive and if your computer ever needed Apple repair, have replaced the hard drive for the optical again before taking it in for service. A little bit underhanded, but some people have done it.
You're pretty much just out of luck now...
    Sorry,
    Clinton

  • Any reason to buy Apple Care before 1yr is up?

Looking at the website, all Apple Care seems to do is cover repairs for the second year you own your iphone for $69. Do you need to purchase this within a certain period of buying your iphone?
Otherwise, why wouldn't I buy Apple Care on June 25, 2008? If I buy it now and, God forbid, my phone is stolen in the next 12 months, I'm out $70 for something I never used.
    Anyone have thoughts on this?

If you bought your iPhone with a credit card offered by a reputable company (AMEX, MBNA, Wells Fargo, etc) then in my opinion AppleCare is worthless. Your credit card often extends any manufacturer's warranty for an additional year. In otherwords you already have AppleCare's extra year warranty from your credit card company. It's an incentive they offer you for buying the iPhone with their card.
AppleCare gives you the luxury of calling tech support, but so what? You can go to the Apple Store and talk to the Genius Bar for free. And how many times are you going to call tech support anyway? I have called them maybe twice the entire time I've been an Apple customer. Between the Store, these Support forums and Google search I can't really understand why you'd call Apple tech support and pay $50 for it. (Which by the way I think is ridiculous that they charge you $50 to call them!!).
Given the fact that my credit card extends the warranty I'm not about to give Apple $70 so that I can call them when I want to.

  • Need to buy Apple Care within 60 days of purchase date?

Since when you need to buy Apple Care within 60 days of purchase date? I thought you can do it before the end of one-year limited warranty, no?

    shotarobkk wrote:
Wrong. I don't think so that it was like that since forever like you said. It used to be that you can buy the Apple Care before the end of one-year limited warranty. It's changed as well for iPad, but stay the same for iMac and the monitors.
No, sorry, but AppleCare+ has always been a limited purchase option.  You may be confusing extending AppleCare, which only covered technical support for an additional year, but since AppleCare+ covers replacements now, when it was first introduced, it started with a 60 day buy it or not be able to buy it option.

  • I want to buy apple care protection plan..let me know the costs and from where i can buy it

i want to buy apple care protection plan..let me know the costs and from where i can buy it?

It seems that Apple are very efficient at collecting the £300 price, but it's very difficult to get support when needed. I have to wait four days to get a simple answer after struggling to communicate in the first place. Not a lot of 'peace of mind' in that.

  • HT1937 I live in Thailand, I can buy Apple Care.of iPhone?

I live in Thailand, If buy iPhone 5s frome Apple onlin store (sg) I can buy Apple Care.of iPhone?

Well, if you purchase phones for Thiland in Singapore, then that is what you do. I'm a user like you, and one in the US, so I'm not sure where you purchase your phones. I just know that you cannot order a device from a store you are not authorized to buy in, and that is identified by your address and credit card. You would not be able to buy a US phone in your store. If the Singapore store is where phones for Thiland are supposed to be purchased, then the sale should complete.

  • Macbook bought in Asia, can i buy apple care on Amazon?

    hello mac lovers!
i just got my new macbook. love it! i want to buy apple care and have found it online (amazon) for about 30% less the MRP. is its safe to do this and will it work? my computer is registered to me at my local address in thailand. i will get it shipped to my stateside address so the shipping is not an issue. Any thoughts please? thanks in advance. h20gurl

Hi h20gurl and welcome to Apple Discussions!
An AppleCare agreement purchased from Amazon (or any reliable reseller) should be valid in Thailand, since the agreement is international for portables such as your MacBook. It would also, of course, be valid in the USA. There is no need to have it shipped stateside if you don't want to.
Once you get the AppleCare plan box, you will want to register it to your MacBook. You can do this by going to https://selfsolve.apple.com/Agreements.do and entering the required information. Remember that you must register the agreement with Apple before the MacBook is a year old.
    Best of luck.

  • URGENT - Is it okay to buy Apple Care if not invoice is in the name of another person?

    Hi,
I have a Macbook Air that my father bought for me (invoice is under his name).  I only have a couple days left to buy Apple Care but wanted to make sure that I won't run into troubles because the Apple Care would be bought under my name instead.
Does anyone have any experience with this?
    Thank you!
    Nuno

I am reasonably certain you can. Plug your MBA's serial number into this page to determine your options:
