Welcome to SDN!
In SE38, click the blue icon (Information) with the "I" in it.
Click "New Features in ABAP".
There should be a subfolder there which says "ABAP Changes by Release".
There is also a very good document from Thomas Jung here in the SDN
that contain a lot of hardcopies of the changes.

With Nov '07 Release you will be able to start use Nsite Web Service API v.4. This release contains
numerous bug fixes and performance improvements. This new API is improved
stability for different operations. Below you can find what was added in this
release:User can turn on/off Gzip compression for Web Service API callsinsertObject call was changed and now you can do mass insert for headers and detail sections. No more neoql query as input parameter for insertObject call. Fully supporting for I18N. No limitation to insert records with fields which is starts with "_" or field's values which has quote characters or any other character.updateObject call was changed and now you can do mass update operation for headers and detail sections. No more neoql query as input parameter for updateObject call. Fully supporting for I18N. No limitation to update records with fields

Using GZip compression with Nsite Web Service API
The API allows the use of compression on the request and the response, using the standards defined by the HTTP 1.1 specification. Compression is not used unless the client specifically indicates that it supports compression. For better performance, we suggest that clients accept and support compression as defined by the HTTP 1.1 specification. To indicate that the client supports compression, you should include the HTTP header u201CAccept-Encoding: gzip, deflateu201D or a similar heading. The API compresses the response if the client properly specifies this header. The response includes the header u201CContent-Encoding: deflateu201D or u201CContent-Encoding: gzip,u201D as appropriate. You can also compress any request by including a u201CContent-Encoding: deflateu201D or u201Cgzipu201D header. Most clients are partially constrained by their network connection, even on a corporate LAN. The API allows the use of compression to improve performance. Almost all clients can benefit from response compression, and many clients may benefit from compression of requests as well. The API supports deflate and gzip compression according the HTTP 1.1 specification.

as the named support packages are already years old is your question actually about e-recruiting 600 or do you mean the support packages for an enhancement package (like EhP 3 or EhP 4) for the e-recruiting application.

What exactly is the SAP Web Application Server?
The SAP Web Application Server is the reliable, open standard-based application server from SAP. It supports both J2EE and ABAP, and serves as the underlying infrastructure for all new and upcoming SAP solutions, like SAP R/3 Enterprise, SAP Portal, SAP Exchange Infrastructure, and all other SAP components. The SAP Web Application Server is not a new product, it is the natural evolution of proven SAP application server technology formerly known as SAP Basis. It provides the platform to develop, execute, and operate Web applications and Web services as well as traditional SAP GUI based applications
Does the SAP Web Application Server replace the SAP Internet Transaction Server (SAP ITS)?
No, the SAP Internet Transaction Server (SAP ITS) will continue to be supported in the future and is integrated into Web Application Server from version 6.40 on. This is because the SAP ITS will in future display Dynpro-based SAP applications to the Web, either using the HTML-GUI or with HTML-template based IACs. This integration reduces the additional hardware for an external ITS. All SAP ITS based applications and the administration will work as before.
Flow Logic technology will also not be supported by the SAP Web Application Server. ITS Flow Logic is an approach to Web application development that is now completely covered by the new "Business Server Pages" technology and others. New applications based on ITS Flow Logic are no longer developed by SAP. Existing applications based on ITS Flow Logic will continue to be supported. SAP recommends customers use the Business Server Pages for new projects or projects in an early stage of development instead of ITS Flow Logic.
