What is OEM mAh of the original iPod Touch 3G Battery?

Does anyone know what the OEM mAh battery spec is for the
internal factory Apple battery that originally came with the iPod Touch?

Theoretically it would take 1.58 hours to charge with a 500 ma charger and half that with a 1 amp charger. However, the device(s) limit the current to prevent to fast of charging which will/could damage battery. I would say it would take about four hours to charge with either a 500 ma or 1 amp charger. My iPod does not charge any faster if i use my iPad 2 amp charger or my Griffen 1 amp charger.

  • Does the original ipod touch not support apps or books?

i've restarted, checked for updates, and restored, yet i can't get my apps or books onto my device. it's a first generation, but i know nothing about the operating system. any suggestions?

You need to be running iOS 2 or later in order to install Apps.  Since you are only running iOS 1.x you likely have a 1G iPod Touch. See this article about purchasing the 3.1 update.

  • Does anyone know what the DAC is in the current iPod Touch?

Title says it all.  I know Apple used to use Wolfson DAC's, which I really like.  Just curious.

The original iPod touch used Wolfson Microelectronics WM8758BG[58]
The later ones all used Cirrus Logic ones.
I have not heard anything negitive with Cirrus Logic

  • Upgrading original iPod Touch to iOS 4.2

I have one of the original iPod Touches that's currently running iOS 3.1.3, and I wanted to update to 4.2 for the Psych Vision app. When I started, I got the message that updating would delete all media. Right now my iPod has music on it that isn't on iTunes, which means I couldn't retrieve some songs if the device gets wiped. Will the upgrade delete the music on my iPod, and if so, is there some way to get the songs from the iPod to the PC so I don't have to get my CDs and manually load them onto iTunes?

I had something like that happen with an iOS 4.[something] upgrade on my iPod touch 2nd gen. I ended up having to get my other computer to recognize the device. I was then able to sync to the original computer. I can't remember exactly what I did, but I definitely did not sync my device to my other computer -- I just used it to validate my iPod touch.
I had no trouble upgrading to iTunes 10.latest today, or iPod touch v. 4.latest. But Apple has sensitized me to be fearful of their software, and of upgrading, by having nearly bricked my iPod touch on that earlier upgrade. Apple seems not to realize that their products are expensive. If I'd had that same experience with an iPad, rather than a nearly 2-year-old device they'd have lost a customer for life. As it is, they're on thin ice.

  • HT201441 what if i cannot contact the original owner

what if i cannot contact the original owner i work at a pown shop yes we do take phone numbers we take pictures but most the time the # are fake and they pawn somthing never to pick it up and dont show back up or if they do show up you forget to ask them about it pluse they get angery you ask them about items that was once yours but anyways how could i get into this ipod without having to have the original owner?? i would really like the help!!!

You can't.  Without being able to contact the previous owner I'm afraid it's useless to you.
These are the steps to take before buying a used iOS device in the future to ensure it doesn't happen again (from http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5818):
Follow each of these steps to make sure that you can use the device you purchase:
Turn the device on and slide to unlock. If the passcode lock screen or the home screen appears, the device has not been erased. Ask the seller to completely erase the device by going to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings. Do not take ownership of any used iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch until it has been erased.
Begin the device setup process. After choosing a language, choosing a country, and connecting to a network, the device will begin activation. If you are asked for the previous owner’s Apple ID and password, the device is still linked to their account. Hand the device back to the seller and ask them to enter their password. If the previous owner is not present, they can remove the device from their account by signing in to icloud.com/find. Do not take ownership of any used iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch until it has been removed from the previous owner’s account.
You will know that a device is ready for you to use when you are asked to “Set up your iPhone", “Set up your iPad", or “Set up your iPod” during the device setup process.

  • Installing an application on an original iPod Touch for the first time.

    Hello.
I just helped a client to buy and upgrade a client's original iPod Touch model to the latest iOS 3.1 since Epocrates Rx (http://www.epocrates.com/products/iphone/ ) since he bought it on his old Palm Treo 680. However, installing it detected multiple devices access. I assume it is because of iPod Touch and MacBook Pro. Also, it makes him sign into his iTunes account but his login fails. His account information looks correct.
Are we missing something? Apple is making this is complex and confusing!
    Thank you in advance.

Is it more confusing than reading your post here? What does the Palm Treo 680 have to do with this. I'm not familiar with buying apps from the iTunes Store and having it detect multiple devices. Can you start from square one and tell us how you purchased epocrates and installed it on the Touch, etc.
And the iTunes account problem is a totally different problem.
I forgot to mention other things: My client has an account with Epocrates that he used to his old Palm Treo 680. He wants to use his Epocrates account on his iPhone Touch. He is trying to get its App from iTunes Store.
How do we fix the account problem? I also forgot to mention that when he logged in with his MacBook Pro (last used in 2008 to buy and upgrade iPod Touch 2.1 or so) and his Apple ID login showed outdated credit card datas so he updated. His first iPod Touch v3.1 purchase attempt didn't register at first (didn't show up in his purchase history and had to start over from the web page on https://buy.itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZFinance.woa/wa/touchLegacyLandingPage from http://discussions.apple.com/post!reply.jspa?messageID=13263739 ).
FYI, I don't own and use iTunes and iPods. I only owned an old Powerbook G4 back in the early 2000s. Thank you in advance.

  • I have one of the original iPods. I try syncing it to my new computer, but the adapter is old and doesn't fit into my new computer. Is there an attachment I can buy, so I can keep my old music?

I have one of the original iPods. I also had an old aluminum Mac. I had a lot of music stored on both. My Mac no longer works because the software doesn't update. But my iPod still works and has all of my old music stored. I'd like to sync it to my current PC, but the adapter is so old that it doens't work with new laptops. Is there something I can purchase, so I can have my old music moved to my newer iPod thru a PC?

On the new laptop, launch iTunes. From the menu bar click Store / Authorize This Computer.

    - See:
    iPod touch: Hardware troubleshooting
    - Try another cable. Some 5G iPods were shipped with Lightning cable that were either initially defective or failed after short use.
    - Try another charging source
    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. I suspect a hardware problem  due to the hotness. If iTunes can't see the iPod then uor only hope if to contact a data recovery company for getting data off the iPod. If you have an iPod backup you can restore another iPod, iPhone or iPad from the backup to get the data that was in the backup

GarageBand is free on the App Store for all iOS 7 compatible devices; additional GarageBand instruments and sounds are available with an in-app purchase. iPhoto, iMovie, Pages, Numbers, and Keynote are free on the App Store for qualifying iOS 7 compatible devices activated on or after September 1, 2013. • Hi I bought 2TB WD my passport for mac but I do not know what I can delete from the original macbook air. Thank you.

Hi I bought 2TB WD my passport for mac but I do not know what I can delete from the original macbook air. Thank you.

That depends on what you have on the MBA...if you have videos, move the videos to the external drive.  If you have a lot of music, create a folder/library for the music and point iTunes there for the music.  If you have a lot of photos for iPhoto, make a new library on the external drive and move our photos over there and then select that library as the default library for iPhoto to use.
Those are the big files and should take a lot of the load off the internal storage.

  • What are the new features in the new ipod touch?

So for the new iPod Touch that came out on October 12th, what are the new features that they have?
I can't find any difference between the last iTouch and this new iTouch.....plz tell me!

There's no new iPod Touch. What came out Oct. 12 was just software, the new iOS 5. For an overview of new features, see here: http://www.apple.com/ios/
