What is on public display - my User Name or MY name?????

Could someone kindly tell me what they see displayed for me as author of this post?
I hate forums that fail to clearly confirm whether a USER NAME or a PERSONAL name is on public display.
On my monitor, all I see is my REAL name when per my custom settings I was expecting to see my avatar and USER NAME, perhaps with something such as "hidden from view" where my real name would be if I weren't asocial and paranoid to CONFIRM that the only thing publicly displayed is indeed my USER NAME.

On thing that is nice, when your Logged on if you want, you can through your User settings change your Username Like mine I have in the past changed mine to B and nothing else) the members on the forum still see you as what you chose when you made your username up for the first time you came on here but when you look at your profile and the post you post.. You see what you changed it too..

The biggest limitation for content query web part is not able to go across site collections... but subsites should be ok.

User Name Display

Is there a way we can display the User name at the top of the screen when a user logins into PIA?
I see that when we login as BATCH, it shows at the top of teh screen as "SIGNED as a BATCH USER".
So is there a way that we can have this kind of display for all users when ever they login to PIA.
If so where do we need to make changes in Web Server?

Users can customize their own greetings by clicking the "Personalize Content" link on their homepages. If you want to pre-populate the greeting, then you can SQL update PSPRUHDEFN. If you prefer the user's name/description over the user's OPRID, then set the value to something like:

If you want to keep users from changing their greetings, then use AppDesigner to open the page PORTAL_HPCOMP, double click on the edit box "Welcome Message", and set the display only property on the use tab.

Clear last logon user name

I have seen various threads that you can clear the last logon username by registry or policy but I only want to do it once - i.e. logon as local administrator, do some work and then reset the logon screen so it is blank fresh for user. In XP it was simply
a question of clearing a couple of registry keys - any way to do the same in Win 7 ?

It isn't clear what exactly you are trying to do?
If you enable the policy to clear the last logon user name, this changes the logon screen to one that does not display any user names. Each user must type their user name and password to log on.
If you disable this policy, then the standard logon screen is displayed with all user names visible. The user is still required to type their password.
It would be very easy to quickly switch this screen using the registry.
Create 2 registry files.
1. DontDisplayLastUserName_Enabled.reg with the following text.
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System]
"dontdisplaylastusername"=dword:00000001
2. DontDisplayLastUserName_Disabled.reg with the following text.
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System]
"dontdisplaylastusername"=dword:00000000
To switch the logon screen simply Merge the appropriate file.

This is the wrong forum for reports issues - particularly for such an old version :-) However, you'll have to write a user exit to do that kind of stuff. And no don't ask me how, it was all too long ago, but there should be a section on that in your manual.

Getting user name, date and time into 1 field

I have to add a new field in a customising include of AUFK table. This field should have user name, date and time. How do I store all these values in a single field of the table? Please help.

Ok Thanks all. Will try your suggestions. But there is one problem. As i have already mentioned that i will have to display this detail in one field of the table control, The format of display is: user name should be seen above and the date and time separated by space should be displayed below the name. How can i ultimately display this in the table control. Do i have to create 2 different fields (one for name and other for date and time) in the AUFK table or is there any other solution?

If you are using BIP11g and using the default installation then BIP11g security mode is set to Fusion Middleware.
All users and groups are controlled by Fusion Middleware Security.
Any authenticated user will be able to run reports as in former BIP releases "guest".
But also noticed the authenticated user will also have a privilege you want to remove
as for example permission to delete report.

Windows 8.1 do not display last user

Hello,
does anyone know how to prevent the last user name being presented after restarting Windows 8.1 PC. Not a problem with Win7 etc as can disable interactive logon etc, but cant make it work with Win 8.1. Prefer to do with GP. This is a domain environment with
multiple users per device.

I tested this issue in my Windows 8.1 domain environment, enable the policy: Interactive logon: Do not display last user name, then run gpupdate /force to update the policy, it works as expected, the last logon user name is not displayed on the screen

Deceased User Name and Password

This is a sad story, but the parents of a 15-year-old killed in a traffic accident two weeks ago have no idea what their deceased son's MacBook user name and password was. What's the least painful method of retrieving it. They are 2/3 hours from an Apple store. Thank you.

Windows Security Error! Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password

We RANDOMLY can't access one of the computers in our company's network. It is now saying - Windows Security - Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password. It doesn't matter what I put in for a user name and pw it still doesn't work.
Any help is much appreciated!

To be added, if it is part of domain, is this computer had local account? If so, try to logon local account for test, If sucessfully, follow Cyber's suggestion remove PC from domain and rejoin it for test.
If not, you can try to boot system into recovery mode and choose recovery computer for test.
Press F8 at startup, then choose Recovery system.

Default admin user name password

After snow leopard server was installed successfully from the install dvd and mac mini server was restarted to continue the setup, I entered in the server serial number and it tells me it's "Setting Up ... Your server is being configured."
In the bottom left corner of screen it showed "Upgrading services" and after about 10 minutes when the progress bar was about 2/3 full, an error message was shown "An error occurred while configuring your server." and "Your server needs to be restarted to complete setup."
After I clicked "restart" button, the mac mini booted showing me a login dialog to ask me to log in. But the problem is I did not even get a change to create an admin account yet because the failure earlier!
So what's the default admin account user name and password so that I can continue the setup process?

Finally I decided to reboot the mac mini server from a remote dvd drive again to verify the mac mini server serial number using system profiler of the installer. The serial number shown in profile is consistent with the one shown on the bottom of the mini. So it seems to me the password setting somehow corrupted during the previous configuration error.
I then use "reset password" from utilities menu of the installer to reset the root password. After that, Server Admin on the admin macbook can connect to the server without problems using the reset password.
