What is orange/red circle next to calendar events?

Just upgraded to latest 2.0 iPhone sw and latest iTunes....
Does anyone what's the orange and red dot/circle icons next to calendar events now?
I put a new event on the iPhone (did not sync so only available on iPhone at this point) and it has an orange dot next to it. All my other events (synced from PC) have red dots. Does it have to do with if it was synced?
Thanks!

That's the color code for the calendar on which you added the event. If you go back to Calendars, you'll see you list of calendars, and what their color is.

Actually, another person on the "more like this" had the right answer. It meant I had a notification for an invite that I needed to respond to.
Hope this helps you as much as it helped me.

what does the red dot next to the cfp icon under remote systems mean

    Hi,
This red dot is just to show you which fieldpoint controller is selected. You can change between controllers, and the red dot will move.

    Hi, BartleyBauer.
If the media that you are attempting to sync plays in iTunes, try removing the preference to sync music as this remove the media from the device.  Once this is done, try syncing the media again.

What does the ~ symbol mean next to an event?  I have never seen this before but today when I edited a few events this appeared next to the event.

    Greetings,
Hm. I've never seen that in iCal.  In some other Applications the tilde "~" indicates a restore point or a before / after for a file.  My guess is there is a broken cache file in iCal.
    Try:
Go to Apple Menu > System Preferences > Language & Text > Formats > Region. Region should be set to the country of your choice. Do not have it set to "Custom" as this can have unexpected results in the iCal window.
If that doesn't resolve the issue:
    1. First make an iCal backup:  Click on each calendar on the left hand side of iCal one at a time highlighting it's name and then going to File Export > Export and saving the resulting calendar file to a logical location for safekeeping.
    2. Go to iCal > Quit iCal
    3. Remove the following to the trash and restart your computer:
    Home > Library > Caches > com.apple.ical
Home > Library > Calendars > Calendar Cache, Cache, Cache 1, 2, 3, etc. (Do not remove Sync Cache or Theme Cache if present)
--- NOTE: To get to "Home > Library" in Lion: Click anywhere on the desktop and then click on the "Go" menu at the top of the computer screen while holding down the "option" key on the keyboard.  You will see "Library" in the menu.
    4. Launch iCal and test.
    If the issue persists:
    1. Go to iCal > Quit iCal
    2. Remove the following to the trash and restart your computer:
    Home > Library > Caches > com.apple.ical
Home > Library > Calendars > Calendar Cache, Cache, Cache 1, 2, 3, etc. (Do not remove Sync Cache or Theme Cache if present)
Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.ical (There may be more than one of these. Remove them all.)
--- NOTE: Removing these files may remove any shared (CalDAV) calendars you may have access to. You will have to re-add those calendars to iCal > Preferences > Accounts.
    3. Launch iCal and test.
    Hope that helps.

  • Pers. Comm. - what is red circle next to each username?

Cisco Unified Personal Communicator (desktop client)
    Version 8.5.1.17660-6.1.34
All the user names in my User List has an icon ("red circle with slanted line through its center") next to their name.
I have no problem calling people or to IM them.
I can't find (in the documentation) what this icon signifies.
No one else in the company seems to have this icon.
The IT department can't explain this icon.
Here's a screenshot of what it looks like ... can anyone explain?

    Thanks for your quick reply.
Your answer is interesting because I've never changed anything in File->Options->Privacy->Exceptions
However, I did check and on the Exceptions dialog box, there was a "dummy" URL in the "Blocked people/domains".
I state "dummy' because it was an invalid URL ... no relationship to any of our company URLs.
    Thanks for the answer !

  • What does a red circle with a stop (square) in it mean next to a song on your iphone?

HI, i just updated both my itunes and my iphones to the newest update relased on 10/23/2013. as i was updating it, my phone said there was an error and i had to restore it, terible huh? it gets worse. I synced all my music back into my phone, but next to each song there was a red circle with a stop sign in the middle, i clicked on the song and it just skipped to the next song. what does it mean ??

    Here is what I tried.
1)Plug your phone into your computer and let it sync
    2) Go through your songs and fast forward through each and everyone of them on your phone, that way all the ones that wont play will have stop signs next to them.
    3) Then go into intunes and go to "file" then "devices" then click transfer purchases from "..."
That's what I did and it helped

  • What does the red circle with a line thru it mean?

I'm exhausted! Trying to find an answer to WHY iTunes won't allow me to drag a song to my iPod Nano?  It was originally an MP3; I unzipped the file; I played it in iTunes song list; it had a ! next to it; iTunes asked if it should find the file; iT found the file; the ! was removed; I played it again in iT; when I tried to drag it to my iPod, THERE WAS A RED CIRCLE WITH A LINE THRU IT????  I have yet to find--i googled and youtubed and appled til my eyes and brain and fingers ached and burned ;(--what the SYMBOL means?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
I have been able to download similar audio of this nature...Not sure why this one is BLOCKED?
    Thank you!

What version of Premiere Elements are you using and on what computer operating system is it running?
From your description "little circle with a line in it", that sound like a symbol when you are trying to do a cannot do operation.
What exactly are you doing in your edit activities when you see this circle with a line in it? Is it at the end of the mouse cursor?
Can you post a screenshot of it?
If my first impression of what this is happens to be correct, then "How do I get rid of it?" answer comes from
    a. defining what you want to do
    and
    b. correcting any mis-steps you are taking in doing that
We will be watching for your follow up.
    Thanks.

  • What does the red circle with #1 mean on an specific app?

My App store shows that all apps are up to date, but 2 games have a red circle with number 1:  4 elements and Call of Atlantis

I'm not sure how your question relates to apps and games on the iPad. This is the Using iPad forum. I have never downloaded an app in the Mac App Store. The information that I provided is in reference to games and apps using the iPad, but I assume that the Mac App Store works the same way.
Bearing in mind that I have never downloaded from the App Store on the Mac, as I can best remember, only Apple applications and software updates would show up via Software Update. For instance, prior to the Mac App Store in Snow Leopard, any updates that were or are available in any third party applications on the Mac would have their own updaters and will not be available via Software Update. Microsoft Office for example had it's own Microsoft Updater application and those updates never came via Software Update. Software update does not work for third party apps.
Apparently, if you purchase for the Mac App Store, updates are indicated like they are on the iPad with the red number in the circle on the App Store icon in the dock.

  • What is the blue circle next to some apps in ios7?

There is a blue circle next to many of my apps now in ios7.  It doesn't seem to be that they are apps that are running, but I can't seem to figure out a reason for it.

It means those are new apps or apps that have had updates since you last used it/them.

  • HT4623 What are the red circles with a red square in the middle by most of my music since the latest up date?

SInce the last iso up date I have red circles with a red square in the middle by most of my music. The music is now greyed out!
    WHy?

Sounds like it is attempting to download the tacks an is hung up.
Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset.
You might also try opening Settings > iTunes and app store and signing out then back into you AppleID.
Tapping on the icon you described should also stop the download.

  • I had two backups listed in the information about my icloud account.  I thought the newest backup would have everything.  Is there any way to retrieve what I deleted?  I lost contacts, calendar events, etc.

I, apparently, mistakenly deleted an older backup to iCloud.  I thought the newest backup would have everything - the original infor + what had been saved recently.  So, I deleted the older backup.  Now it seems that contacts and calendar events have been removed from my phone and MacBook.  Is there any way to retrieve that?
    Thanks.

And actually, no I am not sure  that the contacts aren't being restored, but then overwritten by iCloud because it has more recent data.  I don't know how to find that out.
    Thanks.

  • What does the number in the red circle mean on calendar?

And how do I get rid of it?  I would have guessed it's trying to show me there is some event today but it's been like this for a week and opening the calendar and scanning all the events doesn't make it go away.

It is a so-called "Badge app icon", notifying you of e.g. an invitation that someone sent you. So, you may check for invitations. Once accepted or denied, it'll be gone.
By default, it's the same as for the Mail or Messages icons: if something new has come in, you see the badge app icon, so you know without having the app open. Isn't it wonderful...?
You can enable or disable this for all app icons:
-> System Preferences -> Notifications, then select an app in the left pane (e.g. Calendar). In the right pane, (un-)check "Badge app icon" as per your liking.
