What is OSS, kinda urgent...

Hi everyone!!
I've got a question, could someone give me an explanation of what is OSS and how it works?
My consultant has asked me to looked into it but i'm not sure what to do.
The situation is this: When a mark for deletion (for spare parts)is inserted in a MO (Maintenance Order), an information message CN709 says 'Goods XXX has been marked for deletion' will prompt out. However, the consultant wants to change it into an Error Message. According to him, he is unable to do that in the current config in the PM Maintenance Processsing > Message Control. He mentioned about me having to login into OSS to find out.
So he asked me to check it out and get back to him on this issue.
So the question is, what am i suppose to check and do about it?

Hi bernard,
1. OSS Notes
All customers who have implemented SAP
must be facing some or the other problem.
To remedy such problems,
SAP comes out with some mini - mini
solutions from time to time.
Such solutions, require some modifications
in the SAP source code.
The corrections can be done manually / automatically
at the users end.
Such notes contain step-by-step instructions
on what to do, how to do etc.
There are SEVERAL such NOTES
(Correction Instructions/Patch)
They are called OSS NOTES.
1. The Tcode is OSS1.
2. But,
U will have to contact ur basis team
bcos
they will open the internet gateway
for oss1.
3. Moreover,
oss1 will login to SAP server
in Bangalore (if u are in india)
4. There also a login screen will be there.
There u need a user id and a password.
(It might be some common userid and pasword
which ur basis team might be able to provide)
regards,
amit m.

Hi there,  i'm new to the iPHONE community and please can someone tell me how to backup my phone to iCLOUD. How do i connect with wi-fi. Must i buy a wi-fi connetion or what.Thank you kind regards

Do you have a wi-fi network in your home ? If you do then you should be able to connect your phone to it via Settings > Wi-Fi on your phone - that should show any networks that are available, and tapping on the network that you want to use (and typing in its password if it's password protected) should connect the phone to it. If you don't have a wi-fi network then yes, you will need wifi router in your home, which is connected to the internet (e.g. via your phone line) to be able to back up your phone to iCloud.

  • MD5 Whats is this MD5 URGENT!!!!!!

    Hello
Please tell whats this MD5 . I already know this explaination...
MD5 produces an 128-bit (16 byte) message digest
The MD5 algorithm takes as input a message of arbitrary
length and produces as output a 128-bit "fingerprint" or
"message digest" of the input. It is intended for digital
signature applications, where a large file must be
"compressed" in a secure manner before being encrypted
with a private (secret) key under a public-key cryptosystem
    such as RSA.
can anyone put this in simpler words . PLSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
I have to understand whats it is.
    Pls Help Urgent.
    Thanks
    praveena

Do you know what a checksum is? Or a hashcode? It's kind of like a more complex checksum or hashcode.
You perform operations (shift, or, and, xor...) on the bytes of a message and produce a 16-byte "summary".
If somebody changes any one bit or byte of the original message, the output will be very different. It's very difficult to come up with two different input messages that have the same 16-byte output output, so if you get this fingerprint through a trusted channel, it can serve as a way to check that the original message you receive is in fact what was sent--it hasn't been tampered with.

  • .java to .class - what do I need - URGENT

I do not know java at all.
I need something to compile .java files to .class files.
A standalone program would be great (Windows XP)

You need, of course, the jdk. Go to java.sun.com and download the jdk (follow the jse links). While you are there go through all the basic tutorials before coming back with another question.
Also, do not mark a post as urgent. It only turns people away. It is not urgent to them. They are reading and answering these posts on their own time. Also, before posting a question, use the API documentations, the Sun tutorials, and Google generously before you post a question. When you then do post a question, tell us clearly and concisely what the problem is, and what you have already done to try and solve. Then include an example code that is small, and reproduces the problem. Doing this last step, will many times allow you to solve the problem yourself.

  • What about some kind of "student" board?

    Hi all
I'd like to know what you think about that:
Every few months (there were already threads where members complained about that) we see questions posted from different people but very similar - obviously students that were given the same task. What makes me annoyed is the fact, that some of them just want a solution. Although I want to help others, for me this goes to far. If you can see, that the asking person is struggling with something but is eager to get used to LV, then I try to help. But in the other case, let's say "Help - I need a solution", I don't want to spend time.
Now - would it be a way to create some kind of student board, where such people can post? So the ones from the community that don't have a problem with the "Help - I need a solution"-bevaviour can jump in and the others can keep out.
    What's is your opinion wire-workers?
    Thomas
    Using LV8.0
Don't be afraid to rate a good answer...

If such a board would exist, the serious students would probably post in it and then you wouldn't see their questions and wouldn't be able to help them. The not-so-serious students, on the other hand, might fail to notice this board and post to the regular board, thus not helping you. I think the best thing might be to continue ignoring the annoying ones. It's their problem, not ours.
Then again, maybe the annoying students will go to the student board and the other ones won't. Who knows???
Try to take over the world!

  • What is OSS Notes? where it is useful?

What is Expansion of OSS Notes? What is it? where it is useful?
Please give detail description and any related documents on that

    Hi,
OSS NOTES : ONLINE SERVICE SUPPORT.
SAP Notes give you instructions on how to remove known errors from SAP Systems. They include a description of the symptoms, the cause of the error, and the SAP Release and Support Package level in which the error occurs.
Depending on the type of error, an SAP Note may also include:
    · Workarounds
    · Descriptions of how to correct repository objects in the ABAP workbench, known as correction instructions
    · Links to Support Packages that solve the problem
You can access SAP Notes both from the SAP Service Marketplace and SAPNet - R/3 Frontend.
You can raise an OSS note if you feel there is some error in standard functionality or program.

  • What is OSS note?

    hi,
Can u plz explain what is a OSS note?
why do we need this? i mean when do we get the requirement for OSS notes?
    Regards
    Vaja

    Hi,
OSS notes are corrections/fixes found in the SAP service marketplace.
There are two ways to connect to the notes search system.
    These are:
    1. The <a href="https://websmp103.sap-ag.de/notes">Web Frontend</a> via your browser.
    2. The SAPGUI for Windows frontend via transaction OSS1 in your SAP system. [must be preconfigured by your system administrators]
The notes contain instructions and in some cases code corrections. The code can be applied manually via the developer tools or via transaction SNOTE which will try to automatically step you through the application process.
Where the correction is complex and/or not a high priority it maybe that the code is delivered in a Support package and no "advance" code is provided. In this case you have to apply a collection of fixes together at once. This is usually done by your system administrators.
Also you will find all the needed information in the note assistant guide
    http://service.sap.com/note-assistant -> Note Assitant Tutorials ->
    Documentation Note Assistant (en).
Once you have access to the snote transaction, you must get the needed OSS note into the transaction in some way. You can do this directly if you have an OSS link to SAP by using the download function, or you can download the OSS note using the SAP Download Manager and uploading the note into snote. Once the OSS note has been made known to snote in some manner, an entry line showing the note number and topic will appear on the main snote screen. There will be an icon to the left of each displayed line. In order to apply the OSS note in your SAP instance, the icon must show as a black arrow head on a blue background.
Also this is one very useful link which would explain you further regarding SNOTE .

  • [kinda urgent] Is that possible signing without digital ID?

    Hello!
I want to ask two questions. Those things might similar to each other, which may concerning signing without Digital ID.
First one is that we want to get sign right away right on the place(maybe without Digital ID). Probably a pad or something, such the device we use when taking bills with credit card, would be connected to the computer. Is that possible or at least sounds probable? and if it is, please let me know how.
Not only that, I wanna ask u one more thing. It is using pdf file with table pc, such as I-PAD. hmm.. giving an example, let's say I read a dynamic forms with I-pad, and I want to sign without Digital ID thing, specifically 'on the pad'. is that possible? like the former one, if it is, please tell me how to do it.
The former one is more important and the fact whether possible or not is the first priority.
In case the information is not specific enough, just comment about that, I am gonna add more detail.
kinda in a hurry, Please help me.
    Any comment would be appreciated!!
    virtuodo123

The PDF format supports many types of "Electronic" signatures, including signatures created using a signature pad.  Acrobat and Reader (with a reader extended form) have the ability to sign PDF documents using Digital IDs (x509 digital certificates) out of the box.  Other types of signatures are supported using third party plugins.

  • What sets the 'Kind' column in Finder windows?

Since installing Snow leopard, I have been finding that just inserting a flash card containing Olympus raw image files into a USB card reader and displaying the contents, shows a strange phrase in the Kind column: "Lightzone transform format".
Lightzone is one of several photo processing applications in my Applications folder, but the same column used to show the more general "Olympus raw file" in the Kind column.
This is causing me trouble when I set iPhoto to use an external editor.

I tried this, and first I was encouraged, and then I was disappointed.
I shut down all running programs and then did the terminal operation you recommended. Then I restarted.
I then put a flash card in a reader abnd opened it in the Finder. I was relieved to see that the Kind column read "Olympus raw file" as it should. I then set up iPhoto to use Olympus Stdio 2 as the external editor. I imported this set of image files (all of them on the card) into iPhoto, and then double-clicked one.
I saw a message window with the following: The document P1234.ORF could not be opened. Olympus Studio 2 cannot open files in the "Preview.app Document" format.
This turn of events was the whole reason that I needed to correct this symptom (the wrong label in the Kind column, I thought). Note that I had in the past used the Information panel on a .ORF file to change 'Open with' to preview.app. but I had hoped that this Terminal operation would have kept this from propagating to these new files, that had never been opened in Preview, but only imported ointo iPhoto.
