Are you serious ? Family lastname is Surname. In many countries, people put Surname first: Surname, middle name (if any), calling name (of firstname). On other countries, peopl use Firstname, middle name then Lastname (or Surname).

HT201401 HI ive forgotten my apple id and password, and also the name and last name i used to set up my iphone 4s what do i do?

my iphone 4s wont turn back on after the battery died, have tried all the steps, still not working. contacted my network provider they said to send it in but before that turn off find my iphone. I am unable to do so as ive forgotten my apple id and password, i have followed the steps and im stuck as i do not know what name and last name i put when registering with icloud as i didnt want to give out such information at the time,(as in i made up the name n last name).

First; how do you forget the apple id and password, that apple id is most likely an > EMAIL < address that you /PERSONALLY/ put into the device to sign up for the service. Once you remember your own email; you need to go to https://iforgot.apple.com/password/verify/appleid for further assistance on resetting your password
You don't need the first and last name; it just makes it a lot harder to locate your account if you REALLY can't remember

AppleScript has been around since 1993 (I think) and isn't known for vulnerability to viruses. It works similarly to VBA macros, except that it is not "built into" Numbers the way VBA is built into Excel. You run it from Script Editor or as a menu pick from the Scripts menu or (if placed within Automator) from the Services menu or a keyboard shortcut.
Below is a short script that reads the names in selected cells, splits them into a last name and first-middle, and places them on the system clipboard.
To use:
Copy-paste into Script Editor
Select the cells with the names you need to "split"
Click the run button in Script Editor
Click once in the first destination cell in Numbers.
Command-v to paste.
Just a quick copy-paste. No formulas or messing with text editors!

Best practice on how to handle employees who do not have a last name?

We are a Canadian based company with some International employees. We have recently begun to enter the International employees into the HR module. This has led to some problems for employees from India who do not have both a first name and a last name as many of our downstream systems require both names.
I'm wondering what other companies with International employees have done in this circumstance. Can someone recommend a Best Practice? We want to ensure that whatever we do is not offensive to anyone.

Indian names vary from region to region. Sometimes Names also influence by religion and caste. Different languages spoken in India in different regions. This variety makes confusing differences in names and their styles.
Now come to the point, since you are international company, while entering the names of your international employees - i would like to suggest to consider the employees names as mentioned in their passport (If they hold valid passport). In case of non availability of passports consider their bank information or any other available information so that they didnt face any further problems like visa, banking transactions etc etc.
1. Maddepalli Venkata Ramana Rao
In this case Maddepalli will be his surname, Venkata Ramana can be his first name and Rao can be mentioned as Second / last name.
2. Hardev Singh
In this case you didnt find a surname... Singh will be considered as Surname or his ethinic recognition. In this case you can enter Hardev as First name and Singh as last name.
Make some entry fields are optional depending on the situation. Take help of an Indian origin employees help exists in your office.

Adding users to PAB group with same last name as existing

Cannot add user to PAB group when user has same last name as an existing Group member.
Seems to work, see number tick up and green bar flash, but, never really adds.

Contacts not being sorted by last name

Hello,
We recently received 2 Windows HTC 8x Phones (one for me and one for my son) and I wanted to sort my contacts (people on this phone) by last name. However it is not working correctly, it seems some contacts get sorted while others do not and the problem is not just on my phone but on my sons as well. I was wondering if there is a quick fix for this or a reason why it would only sort a few contacts.
Example of what my contacts look like now:
Christian Ortega
Clark, Megan
Coats, Will
Corbyn Gilbert
Now, these all show up under 'C' but the last names are Ortega, Clark, Coats, and Gilbert so two of those should obviously not be under 'C'.

Well we had checked those and they all seem to be right. However, all contacts were imported from our old phones (which were not smart phones) and we used the backup Assistant. I can't seem to isolate the difference between the ones that work and the ones that do not work some are linked to facebook/hotmail and some aren't and that doesn't seem to have anything to do with the problem since their information is correct on those and they are on separate lines.

Moving information from last name field into blank first name field?

Is there a script (or does anyone know how I can make a workflow in Automator) for moving information from the last name field in Addressbook to the first name field (which is currently blank)? I want to move information from the last name field to the first name field in over 500 addressbook entries, and it would take me all night to do it manually.

so we cannt expect them to remember the same spellins as what we gave.
no one else can change other password as it need to give the id and email correctly

Wrong replication of partner "last name" from CRM to ECC.

Hi everyone,
In the specific environment of our company, we create business partners in CRM using t-code 'BP' they are then instantly replicated to ECC (we visualize them using t-code 'XD03').
When we create a partner as a person, the fields 'first name' and 'last name' (which are 2 distinct zones ) are concatenated into one single zone when replicated into ECC. I have visualized BDOCS using t-code SMW01, and haven't seen anything abnormal.
I have been trying to debug the replication process, without any success.
Please any clues on what I should do to get the problem solved would be very much appreciated.

Sorry for the late reply.
Goto ECC system and find the FM "BAPI_SALESDOCU_PROXY_UPLOAD" and set the break point using your RFC user id (RFC user id from CRM to ECC and RFC user id should have the debug rights).
Once you create the order in CRM and it will come to debug in ECC.
Check TI_EXTENSION_IN tables whether your values are coming in.
If not your CRM Middleware BADI coding was not done correctly.

Mail received displaying sending last name twice - why?

Here's a strange issue. I recently setup a new user on our domain for email, which is hosted by Google Apps. The new person (we'll call person 1) is using OSX 10.8.3, latest mail, etc... their mail settings on Apple Mail appear to be set correctly and I had this person send a message to myself and got it fine, formatted correctly.
However, another person (we'll call person 2) in the same domain will get messages from this same person (person 1) and the name which is put next to their email address displays their last name twice. As an example, here's how we typically setup email addesses:

This person (person 1) would send a message and only certain receiving people (person 2 and others) would get an email with the address formatted as such:
"last last" [email protected]
Could it be the person getting mail (person 2) in this way has not enterted this new person (person 1) as a contact in their address book? I'm also being told that the same person (person 2) who is getting this strange formatted email when they try to create a new message to this person (person 1) and start to enter their name, the mail cache as remembered the same formatting as above, where the last name is repeated twice with no first name.
Hopefully this is not too confusing. I haven't been able to confirm person 2's address book to see if that's what's going on, but I suspect so.
Any idea what's going on here?

Thanks for your question, and welcome to Apple Support Communities.
From the summary you provided, I think you are right on par with what is going on. I see two possibilities:
a) the receiver has a contact card setup that is misconfigured (last, last rather than first, last).
b) the sender has their last name twice in the settings of the mail account (Full Name)
Should it be circumstance "b", you can edit the information in Mail > Preferences > Accounts - Make sure "Full Name" is configured correctly.

How can I display the first and last name using a paramater as employee ID?

Hi SAP,
I have a parameter that is called {? Employee ID}. What I want to do is display the first and last name based on the employee ID value entered in {? Employee ID} in the page header of the report. Right now, when I put the following formula in the page header only some pages get the right result while other pages dont....
if table.employeeid = {? Employee ID} then
table.firstname" "table.lastname
It appears as though if the first record in the details section on the beginning of each page happens to be the employee under {? Employee ID} then it prints it correctly, if it isn't I get a null value in the page header.
Anyone have any ideas?

TS4002 When I got my phone the man at the att store set up my account but he put my email address wrong he spelled my last name on my id password wrong on it so I cannot use my iCloud account

When I got my upgrade I got a iPhone 4 and the man at the att store helped me set up my phone and when he done my iCloud account he put my email ID. wrong because he spelled my last name wrong I did not notice this until I got home I went back to the att store and they tried to fix it but couldn't 1 they even cleared everything off my phone and set hpnthe apple account with the correct one but it wouldnt fix my icloud either please help I don't know what to do.

In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")

Order of contacts=Open contacts. Click on menu bar>preferences>general.
What little emoticon?
Color permanently=as far as I know, you cannot change it.

The search bar is not designed to take you to names beginning with the letter you put in. If you want to do that, use the letters down the side. In the search bar, the device will return results for all contacts that have that have that letter in them. If you type a couple of letters of the name, you'll find what you want faster. Once you get used to how it works, it's quite efficient.
