What is PC mode?

This was asked by someone else before but never answered as far as I know. What is PC mode in the media share app? It seems to be redundant with the USB memory management option that pops up when you connect to a PC with a USB cable.....except that it does NOT work right when one tries to move files or folders. Only the USB memory manager worked for me.

I've used android and developed for it for awhile (since G1), so I am sure this is a remnant of a earlier time. The USB notification drop-down option is the new better way. This was probably left in to support legacy apps as they make/made the switch, I would expect it to be dropped as the new android versions and new apps are released.

  • What is SUSPECT Mode database?

    Hi All,
What is suspect mode in sql server and how it happens and how to recover from the suspect database ?\
    Please post the article.
    Thanks&Regards Siva G

SQL server marks database as suspect due to many reasons; some of them are given below:
    Hardware failure
Improper shutdown of the database server
    Corruption of the database files
    Unavailable device files
    Unavailable database files
Database resource used by operating system
SQL Server incorrectly asserts free data page space when a row is inserted

  • What is disk mode? HELP!!

Hi, I received a new Nano on Christmas, and it has work perfectly until now, what is disk mode? It is located up on the area where the time usually is? There is a large blcak check mark in the screen? Help!!

The check mark has an "Ok to disconnect" message under it, right? If so, then your iPod is connected to your computer, and is ready to be unplugged. Disk mode is a mode that lets you use your iPod as a portable hard drive, as well as a music player. By turning this feature on, you have to manually eject your iPod from your computer every time you want to unplug it. To turn the feature off, plug your iPod into your computer, go to iPod preferences (a little button in the bottom right of iTunes), and uncheck the "Enable disk mode" option.

  • HT1320 what is disc mode error message mean?

What is disc mode error message mean?

A few years down the road, but I have a thought.  I nornally use an external burner since it is faster and frankly more reliable.  Today, I was doing a quick job so I started burning cds with IDENTICAL files for 7 clients.  First 5 urned without error.  Started #6 and 0x80020022 error code appeared.  The cds were formatted for music, as most are these days.  I switched to a cheaper unformatted cd and low and behold...no error.  Two more clean burns.  Might it be that the software reads the files ... and limits the copies to the number of legit copies allowed by iTunes.  I know that sound bizarre, but when all other reasonable explanations fail, I suggest the unreasonable one as an option.
Anyway, the text, pdf, and jpg files are all burned, but the opening file names were the same; only one picture changed with each cd and that was not the first file on the list.  Code writers sometimes go for the elegant (read shortest) code solution.  So forget speed.  How many copies are you making and are the file names (especially the first ones) identical.

  • What is stealth mode and is it good for your computer

what is stealth mode can you please help me i just found it through my firewall and i am scared about it

Stealth Mode just means that the computer will not respond to a "ping" or similar network enquiries. This means that anyone trying to communicate with your computer will not receive any reply.
It will not harm your computer to turn it on, but it may adversely affect any networking programs which you use. I would turn the firewall on, but leave Stealth Mode off unless you really know you need it.

  • What are Operation Modes?

I would just like to have deeper meaning with regards to Operation Modes. What are operation modes? Does this basically means that we can allocate additional resources (in terms of work process) to a specific operation? For instance, we need additional background work processes at night, we could simply switch the operation mode that is defined to add several background work processes for night? Is that it?
Are there any subtraction or addition of work processes? For instance, from only existing 5 background processes, we can make it to 10 background processes by activating or switching the operation mode?
Or is it simply reallocation of work processes to give way to the more priority in-need work processes? If it is simply reallocation? From what work process are we reallocating from? Does it signify that we can allocate several dialog work proceses and make it background processes? From 10 dialog process and 3 background process, we'll allocate 5 from dialog process to make the background process into 8?
Or is it simply reallocation of the current setting of the work processes? For instance, you have a total of 10 background processes defined in the profile parameter, then you set 2 bacground processes for day and 8 work processes for night. Is that it?
Which is the correct notion? Kindly clarify. Thanks.

    Hi,
Operations modes just change the role (from DIA to BTC for exemple) of some work processes.
It is not possible to change the total number of work processes.
If necessary, It is possible to switch manually operation modes with RZ03.
On our systems we have 3 operation modes : Day, Night and Exceptional.
Day and Night are switched automatically with the time.
Exceptional mode is switched on manually very rarely when there is an "exceptional" need...
One trick to know : you need at least one UPD our UP2 process on a DI to be able to change the number of these processes vi operation modes.
    Regards,
    Olivier

You have entered what is commonly known as "recovery mode". This is a routine that enables you to recover the OS on the device should it somehow become corrupted.  You can do a Factory Reset, or install a refresh of the OS from an SD card. Details are available from the Support pages for your device. WyreNut

  • IdeaPad A1, what does Airplane Mode really do?

    Hello-
Got my A1 in yesterday, charged it up and turned it on. First impressions, positive. Nice cosmetics, decent responsiveness. A bit nonintutive in the human interface department. It got on my password-protected wireless LAN just fine, it seemed. And web browsing was OK, fits and starts. I went to update the firmware, and I noticed the pattern: every 30 seconds or so, the WLAN link indicator would blink out, of course interrupting the firnware download. But (good engineering at work), the download resumed when the link came back up. It took about 75 repeats, but the new firmware eventually made it down the airlink to the A1. Only one of the promised two update files was delivered; this was apparently enough to upgrade from version 9 to 10. I really hoped that the upgrade would solve the airlink instability problem. It did not. I will consult Lenovo support and see what happens.
In pondering the reasons for the airlink problem, I explored the A1 menus a bit. And came away confused. When I checked my battery usage, over half of my power was consumed by something called "Cell Standby". Whaaat? Do I have a SIM-equipped IdeaPad? [No, at least no SIM slot is apparent]. Maybe "Airplane Mode" would help. But Airplane Mode "turns off all wireless connections". That should kill WiFi, maybe even the satellite receivers. Except it didn't. WiFi worked just fine in Airplane Mode (OK, at least as well as it did in non-Airplane Mode). And the map app got the satellites and located me perfectly well in Airplane Mode, once I took the IdeaPad outside.
So what exact part of wireless functionality is disabled in Airplane Mode, if any?
    Thanks for any advice here.

When you put it in Airplane mode it turns off both bluetooth and wifi. While Airplane mode is on you can still turn on both BT and wifi but if you power off the tablet both radios will be off the next time you power up. So it appears that Airplane mode prevents inadvertant use of wireless when powering on. Note that the radios remain on in standby mode. There may be more to it as these are just my observations from use.

  • What is recovery mode and why does it want me to restore my iphone?

I was downloading the new software 4.3.5 for my iphone 4 when i think the computer lost internet so it appeared with an error and i tried again but then it said  "Itunes is detecting an iphone in recovery mode" then it wanted me to restore my iphone whitch im scared to do. also it spent quite alot of time on "preparing for update". now all i can get from my iphone is the picture of the cable wanting to be plugged into itunes.
please tell me what recovery mode is and how i got it. and also if there is any way ican get my iphone back with out restoring my iphone. thank you

Leave the phone connected to iTunes and let it boot the phone up again.  iTunes should then try and update the firmware again once it detects the phone.

  • What camera resolution mode is used by the Flash Player camera settings manager

What camera resolution is used by the Flash Player camera settings manager? I am referring to the camera settings that you have to pull up by right-clicking on a Flash Player swf that is running, and from the right-click menu you hit settings...select the camera tab...and then you can hit the little camera icon and will show you the live video feed from the camera.
In order for the live feed to be displayed, Flash Player requests a camera resolution mode to the driver. What mode is being requested?
For example, could it be 160x120 @ 30fps?
    Or is it 176x144 @ 30fps?
    http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/help04.html#117113

I have the same cam as you (it's apretty darn good cam IMHO).
I don't ever see any resolution request when I click the icon.
My cam initializes at 1920X1080, per the logitech specs. The box in the settings is 4:3, but the cam is running at 16:9, in apps like Skype, or FaceTime (Mac).
It shows the same setup screen in WIn XP, Vista, Win 7 and Win 8, which ALL share the same cam on my setup.
Being as the cam feed in the setup is 4:3, I'd have to say the resolution is 160:120  as opposed to 176:144 which would be a 5.3:3 or 16:9.
