What is PINless comes with music activation ? Plea...

ok, so  the new firmware v30 gives Nokia N86 users the benefit of a so called PINless activation possibility for" comes with music" service. what is that and how to use it?? Thank you in advance
nokia N80-->nokia N82-->nokia N86

Comes WIth Music PINs are not actually linked to the device IMEI.
The Comes With Music service used a database of the IMEI numbers of all phones sold as part of CWM packages, when you begin the process of creating a CWM account, a check is made via the internet that your IMEI is on the CWM database (this is why you cannot proceed with registration via PC unless you connect the phone by USB cable). Once the check is made, you have the choice to create a new account or add your CWM subscription to an  existing Nokia Music account. THe third and final stage is where the PIN number is requested.
Your device IMEI is validated well before you enter the PIN, the PIN is an additional security measure.

  • Comes with music activation code expired in 3 mont...

I got a N97 mini in December, and the phone came with the comes with music music store thing.
Now I've used it with a good outcome for three months but now the nokia music store doesn't recognize my account as a comes with music account. I have tried to re-enter the code but it always says that my code has expired..
So my one year of free music was actually three months.
I can't find a solution for this. Anyone?
    Thanks

  • NOKIA X6 16GB AND COME WITH MUSIC PIN

Recently I purchased a Nokia X6 16 GB phone from SLOT SYSTEMS, Lagos Nigeria but my device does not have a come with music activation PIN and the dealer told me the model does not come with such facility. Is this correct or I have been cheated. What are the options available to me to get this PIN?

Does it say come with music on the box?
If it didn't say it on the box then you have the more common (and lower priced) standard X6 sales package. It does not come with free music and the service cannot be added to it.
If it did say it then you should have got the pin and you'll need to complain to the dealer again. If they won't help you complain to nokia care (if they operate in your county) or seek legal advice. Also keep in mind that your phone may have been imported from another country so CwM may not actually be available in your country.

  • 5800 Comes with Music [PIN/Activation code] is the...

OK - bit of background first
Some months back I brought a 5800 that did not 'COME WITH MUSIC' - I've got it all set up nicely, got all the apps I wanted installed, email settings correct, games etc etc
Recently - just for fun - I entered a couple of codes on the Pepsi ringpull promotion to win a 5800 'Comes with Music' - & guess what, got an email saying I've actually won !!! (haven't got it yet though)
Now I know I can't use the PIN/Activation code from the 5800 'comes with music' phone with my 'older' 5800 (I believe the code is 'locked' to the IMEA of the phone or something like that - can any1 confirm this ??) - but what I'd like to know is how long have I got before the activation code is 'invalid'.
What I mean is that IF I don't use it then my 12months 'free download' subscription will not start - but if I leave it for - say a year - will the code become invalid & I lose out on all those lovely free downloads ??
The way I'm thinking is that I could keep the new one locked away & if/when my present phone gets too badly damaged, or the screen get's scratched, then I can 'backup everything to PC' (Nokia Suite) & reload it into the new one THEN use the activation code & get a years free download
Or would it be better to transfer from the old phone to the new phone now - use that with my free downloads & 'factory reset' my old phone & sell it on/recycle it ??

OK so no answer - however since I've now got the new phone, I can answer my own question
There is only 2 Months from recieving (buying) the phone before the 'Comes with Music' voucher is made invalid

  • Nokia Comes With Music - Seriously, what?

It took me about 5 minutes after I opened the X6 package I recently purchased as I started regretting what I have done.
If this Comes With Music service would work, then I wouldn't regret it, as it was the dealmaker.
Current problem where it hangs. I launch Nokia Ovi Music Player, I have account in Nokia. I press "Join now!" button at the top left screen.
Next screen takes me to "Connect your Mobile Device" stuff.  Finally, as I've connected, it takes me to a screen that tells me
"This Device cannot be used as a Nokia Music Unlimited mobile device"
"This device is not your registered Nokia Music unlimited mobile device".
How can I register the device as my Nokia Music Unlimited? Don't tell me I have to do it manually though the device itself? That would cost **bleep**loads of money again.
I certainly agree so far with everyone - don't buy nokia. The software people at Nokia are completely idiotic if things are this hard for someone who generally cuts things quickly.

@Mellowmen - You can try registering directly from device and it won't cost anything extra if done via WLAN or if you have unlimited (3G) data plan.
Otherwise you can contact local Care and they can sort this out for you. You can find contact details under Contact us -tab on top of this page.

  • Suplied activating pin comes with music not valid ...

    Hi there,
Just picked up a brand new X6.
When I try to activate my  one year free "comes with music" theres a message saying my pin is not valid for this region..
I live in the Netherlands, surely that can't be the problem :-)
    Any feedback would be nice.
O and yes I have entered the correct pin, multiple times I must say..
    Thanks in advance
    M

ok i just got the solution:
The Ovi Player, when installing, sometimes defaults to a different Ovi Music store than the one selected. Instead the installer selects the regional settings from the Operating System and sets the Ovi Music Store to that country. If this is the case, manually select the store of the country you wish to log in to.
    Run the following command:
    Start > Run > oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=en-GB
The en-GB needs to be replaced with the code for the region that you want to be pointed at. See below for all the correct URI commands:
    oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=en-GB
    oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=fr-FR
    oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=de-DE
    oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=it-IT
    oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=es-ES
    oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=nl-NL
    oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=en-IE
    oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=fi-FI
    oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=sv-SE
    oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=da-DK
    oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=en-AU
    oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=zh-SG
    oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=pt-pt
    oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=nb-no
    oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=ar-AE
    oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=de-CH
    oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=de-AT
    oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=es-MX
    oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=pt-BR
    oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=af-ZA
    oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=pl-PL
    oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=hi-IN
    oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=ms-MY
    oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=ru-RU
Once you’ve got the corresponding URI:
For Windows XP, Vista Business/Enterprise and Windows 7 users:
    * Start/Orb > Run
    * Copy the URI into the run box and then Enter.
    * Ovi Music Player should launch (or activate, if it’s already running).
    * Wait a few seconds and you should find the Ovi Player now directs to the correct store and, on restart, your homepage will be that store.
    * If you see 'No internet connection...' message, click on the Home button and wait for the new page to load.
    * Even after doing this, you are not able to access the LIVE store, delete the MDataStore.db3 file and start Ovi Music Player again.
    * On the start-up screen, select correct country location
For me its working now ....though its the german store its fine

  • Comes With Music membership extension

I have been a satisfied (most of the time) subscriber to Comes With Music membership (UK) since 26 Ocbober 1969. On 26 September 2010 I got an e-mail from "The Comes With Music team" ([email protected]) which I have pasted below.
    -------------quote
    Hi tonyarro,
Your Comes With Music membership is about to end on 26/10/2010. To continue getting millions of free tracks from Nokia Music Store, you just need to renew your membership by buying a new Comes With Music edition mobile. There's no need to wait - when you renew, your new membership period is added onto the time you've got left on your current membership. Click here to renew now.
What's more, there are exclusive offers on new Comes With Music edition mobiles, just for members. Take a look at all the latest deals here.
Remember, even if you don't renew, you keep all the music you've downloaded so far and can continue playing it on your registered Comes With Music mobile and PC. But after 26/10/2010 you'll have to pay for any new music you download. So don't miss out on all the new releases or classics from the massive Nokia Music Store catalogue - renew today!
    All the best,
    The Comes With Music team
    -------------unquote
So I "needed" to buy a new mobile. The "exclusive offers" were two choices, a 5800 at UK Pounds 249 or a N97 mini at UK Pounds 409. I already use a 5800 and the N97 costs more than I care to pay for a 'phone.
By accident, I discovered that T-mobile UK are currently selling a PAYG 5230 Navi CWM at UK Pounds 99.99. Quite a bargain, so I bought one.
Now I am going round in circles on the Nokia/Ovi websites and in Nokia Ovi Player on my PC trying to enter the activation pin. All the instructions no longer work with the current Player. The only working option is to create a new account and allow my present account to expire. I am reluctant to do this because it seems likely that I will also have to buy a new PC if I want to keep and play the music files that I have already downloaded (only 61.2GB).
In the process of going round in circles I discovered a hidden option in the Nokia Ovi Player menu - Account/Music Account/Extend. I could have bought a 12 month extension to my existing membership for only £34.99! I didn't "need" to buy a new mobile at all! No wonder the "Comes with Music team" don't have a return e-mail address if they just exist to drive sales by telling lies!
Anyway, I already have the new mobile and the CWM activation PIN. I realise that many forum members have more desparate problems than mine, but can someone on the staff please advise me how to extend my existing membership account using the PIN and new 'phone that I have already paid for?
    Tony.

Sorry, I got it slightly wrong, it's £33.99, not £34.99. The whereabouts are in my previous posting. To repeat, within Nokia Ovi Player, on the top line click on account, then music account, then on the Extend green button and the message below appears. This might only appear when your subscription is due to expire within one month or has expired less than one month ago. This is obviously from the UK music store, (GB pounds) I don't know whether it is available in other Nokia territories. I haven't tried it - I found it too late. I now have a 'phone that I didn't really want and no access to transfer my existing music collection back and forward to my old 'phone or my new 'phone. This is by following the advice of the 'Nokia music team'. New 'phone = new account = new computer.
    Extend your subscription
You can buy an extension here
    £3.50 1 months for £3.50
    £9.99 3 months for £9.99
    £17.99 6 months for £17.99
    £33.99 12 months for £33.99

  • Nokia 5310 Comes With Music problem

I've had my Nokia 5310 and Comes with Music since December and have yet to figure out how to transfer the music I've gotten from Comes with Music.
I've spent aeons on the phone to Nokia customer services and we have figured out so much as it's not the memory card, the phone, the registration with comes with music, or my computer.
I've managed to go through Windows Media Player and transfer OLD music to my phone which plays as normal. When I transfer a comes with music song, it says there is an error. Then I check my phone and the song is on there... But when I press it to play it says, "recieving activation key" and "subscribe to packet data first". I took a stab at what this means and got personal configuration settings for MMS and Sych and Streaming but they dont seem to work, because I still can't send picture messages. Go figure.
Can anyone help? I payed for this and it's not working, no one seems to know whats wrong.
    Ana

If you can't sent pictures thru mms, then its not properly configured for your phone. I would advice you to give your provider a call & have the configuration for packet services sent to you, or give you instruction on how to do it with your phone. Ask also what services are being offered to you.
Knowledge not shared is knowledge wasted!
If you find it helpfull, it's not hard to click the STAR..

  • Comes with Music - Expired 3 days into 365 days

We received a X6 32 with 1 year free Comes with Music
On going back into the Music store it asked me to register the PIN again, only to be told that although I have 362 days left, the PIN is not longer valid
I fear this could have come about from us putting another SIM card in the phone.
Could this be the reason, and what is the solution?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I registered when it had the other sim in.
Problem was the sim (new sim) with new phone took so long to be activated, (took 5 days !!) that I tried my sim from my Blackberry (the X6 is my wifes) to see if the actualy phone worked. During that time while I had my sim in her phone, I tested "Comes with Music" and downloaded a few songs (successfully)
When her sim eventually came active, we tried downloading songs again, and was then asked to register again. And then encountered the problem.

  • N97 COME WITH MUSIC HELP !!!

dear friends,i've bought my N97 that doesn't include CWM.
the reason is becuz i've my old phone Nokia 5800 CWM Activation PIN which i haven't activated it.
i thought i could've use my old Nokia 5800 CWM pin for my new N97.
    sumhow i couldn't activated it,using 5800 unused pin for my N97. .
    any help?
    regards~

i think that each device that 'comes with music' gets thier unique code or id, so if your n97 'came with music' then you should have gotten a pin or id for that particular phone. if you have not then contact customer support. now 'comes with music' i didn't even know that n97 comes with this service already and it is limited to a few countries that actually promote this service. it is not something that is avaliable worldwide. best to contact your nokia care line or nokia care piont and have a talk with them

  • Comes With Music - Doesn't Work

Can anyone tell me how I can actually use the service I have paid for? Every time I try to join up, the Nokia Music Store application crashes. If I try and sign in to the Nokia Music Store with the phone connected, it crashes. The PC suite works fine by the way and the Music Store works fine without the phone connected as I paid for a track to make sure it worked.
I have a 5310 and Windows Vista with the latest version of the Music Store software and have followed the instructions to the letter over and over.
Apparantly I can sign up from my device only there is no Music Store application on my phone. I have been through the help and support over and over again and have been through every menu and option on the phone but what I have on my phone is not what the support pages show.
And yes, the phone was bought specifically as part of a Comes With Music package. So all-in-all I am not impressed and unless I can get a solution within the next 2 days the phone will be going back for a full refund as I have not received the product, or the service, that I have paid for.

  • Question about Comes With Music in the UK

Ever since I heard about the service, I was quite interested in getting a Comes With Music device on contract, but looking for one is like finding a needle in a haystack.
Ideally, I would like to stay with O2, but they don't seem to offer contracts with Comes With Music, from what I can tell. I called their sales team four times to try and find out and pretty much got a different answer every time, although the one person who did seem to know what he was talking about gave a definitive "no".
Other than that, I'm finding it impossible to find deals. I know Orange do the 32GB X6, because a friend of mine has this contract (not that I've found anything about it online), and the Nokia site itself offers the 5800 CWM with T-Mobile. Like I said though, I'd rather stick with O2 if possible, because I've always had excellent signal from them.
So basically, does anyone have any information that may help me? I'm starting to think the reason CWM isn't doing well over here is because nobody really knows about it and because if you do find out about it, it's virtually impossible to find a contract.

Your only option for getting a CwM phone on O2 is to see what places like carphone warehouse and phones 4u have to offer.
O2 have refused to sell CwM phones directly in the past.
Instead of paying more for a CwM phone you may want to consider spotify premium instead. It's £10 per month and it allows you to either stream music or download for use on the phone.
The X6 32gb CwM has become quite hard to find since the cheaper 16gb model (without CwM) appeared. Originally it was exclusive to phones 4u but didn't sell well due to it's overly high price.

  • 5800 Comes With Music - library not refreshing!!

Hi everyone, I recently got a 5800 Comes With Music phone and registered the phone within the Music Store.  I don't have a PC I can use so I wanted to use the phone to download music.  I managed to download a couple of tracks and they were stored in my music library when I chose the 'Refresh Library' option.  However, the next batch of songs I downloaded show as complete in the 'My Downloads' section but when I go into my music library and try to refresh it, it just says '0 Files Added'.  Why is this?  I'm not doing anything different to what I did the first time, yet whatever I try, I can't add the latest downloads to the library.  It's driving me mad!!  Has anyone had the same problem?  Am I missing a step - I'm literally selecting download, waiting for it to complete then going to the library and choosing refresh.
    Thanks!

Hey man, yh i'm afraid i'm having the same sort of problem as you.
I've bought and downloaded new songs off of the internet and have tried to put them onto my phone with little success.
Originally I got all but 1 song off the album into my library, through bluetooth, but when i came to play them later in the day (even though they were working earlier) they couldn't find the files and therefore were useless.
I tried, when I got home, to put them on later through the applications you download through your PC (like Nokia Suite and Nokia Music) and seemed to get them on fine but when I looked for them in my library they weren't there.
It seems like they are happy for you to put it on to your phone so that you can find the file in File Manager but won't let you put it in your library.
Sorry I couldn't give you any help but I thought it would be a good idea to put my problem up on here as well.
    Good Luck mate

  • 5130 nokia comes with music & ovi recognizing prob

    Hey!
I just bought nokia 5130 xpress music with nokia comes with music. I followed instructions, installed ovi software etc, but when it comes to nokia comes with music thing, it shows the help for it (turn on phone and put usb cable to usb drive etc), but when i connect phone and press continue, it just refreshes the page, so i think it means that ovi doesn't recognize my phone. PC recoqnizes phone itself as USB Device USB Phone Parent in Wireless Communication Devices category and on location it says : 0 (Nokia 5130c-2). So what I should do to make ovi recognize my phone? I consider myself as advanced user so this is very frustrating .
    and i have tried this:
    http://www.nokia-asia.com/search5/display.jsp?wsid=1002&caseid=FA118178_en_US
ps. And of course I have tried reinstall everything and booting everything etc.

  • Comes with music 5800

when i bought my phone on contract it was advertised as comes with music on uk tv. now 4 months later im told that unless im with a certain contractor ,ie orange and on payg, i cant have comes with music..this is false advertising and nokia should be held accountable...and its also asking for a pin number..why would this be when only certain phones are meant to work with comes with music..can anyone help as ive been on the phone for 30 mins t tech team, who seem reluctant to deal with calls.and help desk just fob you off.

I bought my nokia 5800 March 30th 2009.  I really loved it not until now. 2 weeks ago, videos were not playing... I'm not sure how that it happened.  It was just pitch black with no sound. But it i can still download songs and play them.
Last Saturday, July 4th, I went to Nokia Center at Wheelock Place to get it fixed.  I was told that he needs to format my phone as the phone got corrupted.  I backed up my phone so he can do what he things needs to be done.  I asked if it's safe to format my phone as I have this fear that the music I downloaded won't play anymore...  He told me that I can call Nokia Care anytime for help.  So he formated my phone and it fixed it.  Videos are now playing...  On my way home,  the music I downloaded were no longer playing.  It really upset me.  I tied to download from Nokia store and was still able to, but all the downloaded music won't play.  I waited for Monday to call the nokia care for assistance.  This morning I called the nokia care and in verbatim, the customer care personnel said ,
"We apologize for that experience.  Now since you agreed to format your phone, all the data have been erased and so now, you have to purchase a new license in order for the downloaded music to play."
What???  Nokia was bragging a 1year agreement and even advertized that the downloaded music can be kept after the 1 year!!!  (Literally YES KEEP IT, but don't play it!)  Now what made me even more mad is when the rep told me that it's "MY FAULT" since my phone was reset!!!  Duh?! I didn't even initiate the reset, come to think of it.
In the first place,  it was not my fault that the video player of my phone got corrupted.  2nd,  the nokia repair center suggested that formatting the phone will fix the trouble (video not playing). 3rd,  I bought the phone because of how the ad was delivered to the public.  I honestly thought it was a good buy but now i'm starting to think all is a sham.
