  • What is port 1024 for?

    What is port 1024 for?
    thanks,
    tim

...port 1024 for UDP and TCP are reserved by IANA and thus should not be used for anything.Yes but your first answer was probably closer to the truth. Even numbers in the range 0-1023 might not actually be used for what the say they are.
Since 1024 is reserved, it shouldn't be used. If it is being used, then the only way to find out for what is by investigating it.

  • What Thunderbolt ports to use?

I know there is some protocol on what Thunderbolt ports to use on the new Mac Pro. I have 2 external TB drives, 1 TB display, and I feed an AJA T-Tap with another TB cable. The other day I changed some cables around and when I went to start the Mac Pro it just gave me chimes and would not boot. I moved some TB cables and all is fine. What is the proper method?
    Thanks.

    Hi Rama
    As much as i know
    1) Yes we can use File port for ALE. (Not Exactly sure how).
    2) RFC destinations is used to connect to SAP systems.
And when two SAP systems try to communicate they use tRFCs.
    3) The use of ports in defined in ALE layer of SAP. Different types of ports are used to send Idoc data.
    4) ALE uses RFC Connections. An RFC connection should have an RFC destination for it to work.

  • Whats the port for NSP ABAP

    Hello,
Do you know whats the port no for (NSP) Netweaver Sneak Preview for ABAP version?.  Also how to get the Web Service file from it?.
    Thanks,
    Sunita.

    Hi,
If it's using the WAS ABAP, then you can find the port number by the following way...
Goto SICF txn and click on EXECUTE on initial screen, then goto menu - Goto - Port Information.
Here you can find entire ports info on WAS ABAP Server.
Am not really sure if this is what you are looking for. Ignore it if it is of no use to you.

  • Besides CAPWAP, what other ports/protocols needs to be allowed for FlexConnect

Well the title says it for itself.
Besides CAPWAP, what other ports/protocols needs to be allowed for FlexConnect?
To clear things out, I am MOSTLY concerned between the communication of the FlexConnect AP to the WLC. Besides CAPWAP what do i need to consider? I need this list since most our clients have a firewall, and of course, i need to allow certain protocols and/or ports on the firewall so that the AP and the WLC can see each other.
    Any one knows?
As far as I know, I would allow:
    1. CAPWAP
    2. ICMP         -For reachability testing
on the firewall, to/fro the devices.
    Inputs would be helpful! ^_^
    Thanks in Advance.

    Thanks Scott,
Verifies what I need or rather request clients on what ports to allow on their firewall, since this is VPN connections, ICMP, telnet, SSH wouldn't hurt to be enabled xD
    A. CAPWAP
        PORTS:
        5246/UDP      -Control Channel
        5247/UDP      -Data Channel
    B. ICMP(Ping)                        -OPTIONAL/Reachability verification
    C. AP Remote Access          -OPTIONAL
        PORTS:
        22/TCP               -SSH
        23/TCP               -Telnet

  • What is port mapping in NFS?

What is port mapping in NFS?

I've only played around with NFS in any great detail in RedHat, so the below may be a little inaccurate...
I'm presumeing you're asking for the port number so that you can route it through some sort of firewall? NFS operates on port 2049, but it's not as simple as that...
    On RedHat, the NFS services...
    statd
    mountd
    lockd
    rquotd
...are dynamically assigned ports, in order to be able to lock this down (I presume you're asking for the port number so that you can route it through some sort of firewall), you have to configure NFS to use static ports. This involves editing the /etc/sysconfig/nfs file.
You can see what port numbers are currently assigned to these services using the rpcinfo -p command.
    Hope that helps...

  • What wireless port needs to be allowed through in the firewall to allow printing in Win 7?

I have a Selphy CP910 and the only way that i can get it to print wirelessly in Win 7 is to disable my Windows firewall and Windows Defender.
What specific ports do I have to allow through on the firewall to all wireless printing without totally disabling the firewall?

    Hi rpavich,
The SELPHY CP910 uses the following ports:
    80, 9100 and 8611
Allowing these through your firewall should allow you to print  without disabling it.

  • How do i find out what tcp ports are open? and where do i look it up?

how do i find out what tcp ports are open? and where would i go to see them? i have a program that is asking for it and i am unable to find where those are listed.

If you are not too tech savvy, try using the Network Utility found in the Utilities folder. Just have the Mac scan itself.
If tech savvy, there's always Fyodor's classic NMap, found at www.insecure.org.

  • What sata port does a dv6-6135dx have?

I have a Pavilion dv6-6135dx and was wondering what sata port (Sata 2 or 3) it has so i can install an ssd.

    Hi:
I would imagine a SATA III SSD would work on a PC that only has a SATA II controller, so if they are close in price, I would go with the faster drive.
You have nothing to lose by getting the faster drive.
See if this free utility will tell you what "speed" your SATA controller can run at. (PC Wizard 2010).
    http://www.cpuid.com/downloads/pc-wizard/2012.2.0-setup.exe
According to the southbridge specs for your chipset, there is support for 3rd generation SATA drives.
See page 13 of the below document--SATA controller.

  • What IP Ports are used for continuity?

In my company WLAN the IP Adresses are seperated. With IP/UDP Ports are used to communicate within the continuity functions?
    Thanks

Great, actually, I found this information, and would like to re state my question. Now that I know what ports I should be using (this is described in detail in the hardware manual for the E series), I would like to see some definite information about what I must do in my external device to make use of these signals.
I'm a little confused by some comments in the documentation that some of the facilities of Port C (on the 8255) are only avialable if I use register level commands (as if using the parallel port). If I use the DIG_Prt_Config and set to handshaking (input) on a port, then I assume I set up my external hardware as if Port C was in Mode 1(input), and then follow the timing described in the E Series manual.
    It's just a shame that everything o
n the PC side is well described, but there are no application notes that I can find about building an external device that can use the handshaking signals.
If 'you' (anyone) can confirm what my assumptions, or point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it greatly.
    Thank you.

  • What is port with " ++ p"

There is a 'port' on the back of the computer that looks like an HDMI connector, but it has two plus signs (one above the other) and the letter P to the right of them. I've tried to plug an HDMI cable into it, but it doesn't quite fit. Please help me figure out what this is. I need an HDMI hookup, so it this isn't it, I'll have to try to put one in.
