What is position override in OM?

Hi experts,
I have heard people saying position override many times in the meetings. I wonder what is that. From the definition and meetings I could figure out that it is a position overriding an existing position. Please explain with a scenario and how this achieved in SAP configuration.
Thanks a lot,
JEss..

Hi Jess,
I am not too sure to understand your issue. For eg. when you ask an employee to replace another employee during a vacation or leave of absences (couples of months). In this case you have to override the position. Hope it helps,
Kind Regards
Christine

  • What is positive payment

    Hi all,
    I am a newbie to Peoplesoft.
    Can any body tell me what is "positive payment". is that different from "payment". I am totally confused.
    Please help me guys. i got to do a task on that.

    Positve Pay is actually the process where you give your Bank a file (generated from peoplesoft) that contains all the check that you created from A/P so that when the payee goes to the bank the bank can verify it and pay him the amount. It is done daily in our company.

  • List what monitors and overrides a specific server have

    Hi,
    I really need help with this!
    I am migrating servers from a very messy scom 2007r2 enviroment.
    I have installed a new scom 2012r2 enviroment and are trying to import server by server. I need to have all monitors and overrides listed soo I know what have been monitored before soo I can set it up in the new enviroment also.
    I can not import whole management packs because then I have all the mess in the new enviroment aswell.
    Soo I need to get a list like this:
    Server1
    Exchange 2007 monitor
    Custom monitor process lanman.exe
    Custom monitor service Print spoolsv
    Override no alerts on print spoolsv
    Is this possible to do? Please please help me!

    For SCOM 2007 R2, Microsoft had develop a tool called Effective Configuration Viewer that can displays the set of rules and monitors that are running on a computer and can export the result into xml file. You can download the file from
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=6742

    That was a really nice tool! Never heard of before, thank you very much!

  • What, no position slider?!!!!

    Please someone tell me that Logic Studio has not abandoned the postion slider. This was one of the most useful features I've ever encountered in a computer program. I used it ALL THE TIME to instantly (almost) pull the song back to some general area while the song was running. It only took one click. Without it I have to grab a slider, move it to the area, then go up and click in order for playback to begin there. Three steps instead of one. I thought updates were supposed to IMPROVE the program.
    Please join me in ******* and moaning. Im sure it would be a simple matter to add it back if enough people bitched.

    Hi guys
    I assume you all know you can click the bar ruler (where the subdivisions are) to do this... I realise it's not the same as previous versions but it's functionality is pretty much the same.
    Also you can set up keycommands to navigate the page - play from selected object etc. You can select different objects (if they're on the same track) using the left and right cursor keys - changing track with up and down.
    Also, for what it's worth - markers are really easy to set up and manage (one play through at best) and with the use of KCs you can skip around your project no problem.
    If you don't like the way this is implemented, try this:
    At the top of your arrange, create an empty audio track - call it ARRANGE or similar.
    With the pencil draw in an empty object that's as long as your piece.
    Then with the scissors tool and the cursor tool, chop up and mark the track as appropriate - you can even colour the objects if it makes navigation easier.
    You can then move around the track with the cursors and use the 'play from' KC, also you can 'set locators' to specific parts of the arrange if you need to focus on certain sections, copy or remove verses etc.
    Of course none of this is handy if you only have one screen and are not in the arrange so I'd suggest using the 'go to' KC (mine is set up as 'G' - I'm not sure if this is the default or not). Then you can skip around the piece as fast as your brain+fingers communicate.
    hope this is of some help and not a pointless rant.
    Cheers
    Del

  • Position change clarification

    we have one derived business update type DBT_E001 and one update type SAM3010 (commission payment) in cash flow IFRS report, but these two are not appeared in "assign update type to position change category", is this correct?
    regarding to position change category, pls find attached.
    what does "post negative purchase value" 1010 mean? for MM1100+, it is used in borrowing of a fixed term deposit.
    in SE2000, it is incoming payment, which is payment inflow, why it is position outflow? what does position inflow mean?
    should we assign update type interest payment in position change category?

    Dear, Jolin.
    I suggest you not to change anything in configuration "Set the effectsof the update types on the position components" as it already configured for all simple and standart processes.
    If you want to uderstand how it could help you - play with configuration in sandbox.
    In order to know what Position Change Category does - see this table TRLTS_PMCAT. There you can find:
    Position change category - which you assign to update type.
    Two components - which can be changed by Position change category
    Rules - that tell you what components are changed and how.
    Discription and other fields.
    As concerns update type DBT_E001 ans similar Derived business transactions update types - you won't see any configuration as position change category is predefined - see the table above - position change category E001.
    in SE2000, it is incoming payment, which is payment inflow, why it is position outflow? what does position inflow mean?
    Incoming payment means - money inflow because you sell your security. Position outflow means - your security is sold
    what does "post negative purchase value" 1010 mean? for MM1100+, it is used in borrowing of a fixed term deposit.
    negative means you owe somebody. somebody gave you money and you have to return it some day.
    positive means you gave somebody money.

  • (Data Structures) Position (in Lists) ...simple - Urgent help needed!!!

    I know that Position is the abstract data type and that it supports only one method - element() (that returns the element stored in this position).. Now when I wish to implement a List (with doubly linked list) using the Interface List...In the Interface List there are quite few methods to implement , however, few of them require Position parameter...And this is where I am getting confused..What is the Position parameter? A number? or? Here is a sample code
    //Node class for implementing a Doubly linked list
    Class DoublyNode implements Position
    { public DoublyNode prev, next;
    public Object element
    //constructor
    public Dnode()
    { prev = null
    next = null
    element = null
    public Object element(){
    return element;
    Class NodeList implements List{
    // bunch of methods and variables
    public Position before(Position p) // What is Position parameter? a position number? or what?
    { DoublyNode v = (DoublyNode)p;
    DoublyNode prev = v.prev;
    return prev;
    Now I know since DoublyNode implements Position, we can cast a position to a node, but what is that Position parameter? Can anybody explain this minor detail to me? Or how do these Position parameters work in programing? All I know is, given a position parameter (what ?) the Doubly linked list will instantly locate the appropriate node (how) and you can cast it to a node and return the node...but how does this Position work?
    I am aware of the fact that everytime you insert in the list , that inserted element gets a position (a number?) how do I refer/catch back that node ? Via position (number)?
    Please Help....
    I appreciate it a lot!!!

    There's no standard Java class called Position, at least none that has anything to do with lists or collections. So this must be a class or interface that somebody else wrote. At any rate, a Position parameter needs a Position object, obvious as that may sound. How do you create a Position object? Somebody with documentation of the Position class or interface might be able to help here -- is this homework?

  • @Override when extending an abstract class

    Hi!
    I have an abstract class A with one abstract method B. I then created a class C which extended A. Eclipse then automatically created the abstract method. But it also added @Override.
    Like this:
    @Override
    protected void B()
         // something
    }What does the @Override do?

    2. A definition of what "queue position" means
    3. An explanation of how you intend to use the information so we can better understand what you are looking for.

  • Positioning settings in c3

    What is 'positioning' in contact menu?

    Old Toad wrote:
    The battery percentage option is located in the Settings/General/Usage preference pane.  As for vibration patters there is no option for that.  It's either on or off.
    You actually can change the vibration pattern by, for example, going to Settings>Sounds>Ringtone and tapping on Vibration. From there, you can chose one of the existing patterns or, by scrolling down to Custom>Create New Vibration, create a pattern of your choosing. Never quite saw the point of it myself but I guess some people like it.

  • Inspecting report field position properties

    All,
       Does a way exist to inspect a report fields properties within CR script used in a formula.  I know about using code withing the X+2 buttons in the layout tool, but would like to know in a formula what the position and width of any arbitrary report field in the detail band might be.
    thanks,
    pf

    Thanks for responding.  I need to do this at run time.
        1) Suppose I had 25 columns and each was associated with a boolean report parameter that allowed the user to toggle columns off and on.
        2) Further suppose the user decided that she does not need columns 7, 12, and 20.
         I want to do the following:
             1) suppress columns 7,12,20 (this is easy)
             2) move the remaining columns 8 and greater the appropriate twips to the left.
         I can do all this now but I must "hard code" the field position into a string with delimiters which I later split into an array to use in determining the x offset (if any)  for each unsuppressed column.    Life would be easier if one could just inspect the X position of any field.  Please let me know if this helps in understanding the problem.

    can assign the following Time Management statuses in the Planned Working Time infotype (0007):
    Time evaluation with planned times (0): Employees with this status are not selected for time evaluation. They cannot therefore be processed in time evaluation. The employee’s time wage types are determined in Payroll time data processing.
    Time Management Status for processing time data in Time Evaluation and passing on time wage types formed there to Payroll
    Time evaluation of actual times (1) and Time Evaluation PDC (2): Employees with these statuses have all their actual times, that is, all attendance and absence data, recorded*. It makes no difference whether attendance times are recorded at time recording terminals or in the Attendances infotype (2002).
    Time evaluation with planned times (9): These employees have only the deviations from their work schedule recorded for them. The employees’ planned working times from their personal work schedule are used as the basis for time evaluation.
    Time Management Status for processing time data in Time Evaluation without passing on time wage types formed there to Payroll
    Time evaluation without integration with Payroll (7): You use this status to run time evaluation to handle special time accounts – to accrue absence quotas, for example. It makes no difference whether all of the employees’ actual times are recorded or only the deviations from the work schedule.
    The system stores the results of this time evaluation run in cluster B2, which enables you to run reports on the data, for example. The results are not passed on to Payroll. The time data processing part of Payroll treats the employees as if they had the time management status No time evaluation (0).
    External services (8): Status for external employees. It makes no difference whether all of the employees’ actual times are recorded or only the deviations from the work schedule. The results of time evaluation are transferred to Materials Management (MM-SRV), and are not passed on to Payroll.

  • Positive & Negative Time Management

    Dear Seniors,
    What is positive & negative time management? Which time management status do we use for these?
    What r time pairs & where can these be configured?
    Thx & Regards
    WARNED-> No more basic questions please.

    Hi,
    Positive time is plays the total role of workflow. All the processes related to time are automatically gets executed in the background. E.g., in our case it is done only partially to validate the attendance as per punches and other documents with shift timing and generate absence automatically in case of any discrepancy.
    .Negative Time (-ve Time) ? Where the all time related activities like validation of the attendance, posting of absence for wage deduction etc are done manually. It has less level of integration among the different components of time management.
    Positive Time Management we have two types of recordings:
    1. With Clock times - Complete time recording is captured
    2. With out Clock times - Only Number of hourse worked is captured
    Negative time Management:
    1. No clock times and assumed employee is working unless and until his or her absences are entered.

    Tarun
