What is preventing me from editing this PDF in Acrobat?

I did some extensive editing of a form, and so chose to do it in FormsCentral.  When I finished my changes, I did a File - Save as PDF Form.  The outcome of this was the opening of Adobe Acrobat with the form.  This is the point that I added the third-party calendars to the date fields, and saved it.  When I open it now to do a change, I get this error message: "This is a secured document.  Editing is not permitted."  When I open it in reader, the calendars do not function.  What do I need to do to be able to edit my form in Acrobat?

If you are the author and have Acrobat Pro. You can save as a Copy which turns off reader rights and allow you to edit the form.
Then you have to reestablish reader rights.  so That receipient can only fill in the form.
To make more than a minor misspelling Then I would If you have set reader rights Make a Copy.
Then make changes in original Document. save PDF under different name.
the in your open PDF you intend to use locate Replace Pages.  Choose starting point and browser to the New PDF and choose to replace All.  Next you may or may not have to adjest where your fields line up. Is so , then click on each field in turn that needs moving and use arrrow keys or home keys to move up down, side to side until you have them lined up. Now Save Changes. and re-establish Reader Right if you had set them up.

Extended Features prevents me from editing a form on another computer. I have to use this program at work but when I save it to a disk then try to edit it at home or vice verse I can't. This makes Adobe a horrible program to use.

I have no clue what the right forum would be. would you enlighten me
please. I have wasted hours trying to figure out who I need to talk with. I
would think designers would know the most about the issue.
Obviously, I am wrong. I don't think anyone cares about my problem or for
that matter any ones problem with any Acrobat software.

  • Hello - I used a Sony DVD to burn 350 songs. When I put the DVD into another computer to rip those 350 songs, the 'import songs' button never appeared in the lower right hand corner of iTunes. What's preventing songs from being ripped?

Hello - I used a Sony DVD to burn 350 songs from my iTunes library to share with a friend. When I put the DVD into my friend's computer to rip those 350 songs, the 'import songs' button never appeared in the lower right hand corner of iTunes. Anybody know what's preventing me from ripping what's on the DVD?

When I put the DVD into my friend's computer to rip those 350 songs, the 'import songs' button never appeared in the lower right hand corner of iTunes.
The import command only works with audio CDs. So if you burned the files in mp3 format, try instead using the "File > Add file to library" or "File > Add folder to library" commands.

If the program settings are set to hidden, it should be hidden. You do not need to specify any client settings. If you changed the program settings and the machines already had policy, you will have to wait up to your 60 minute policy setting or just manually
kick off a policy update to see the new hidden program.
If they are still getting the interactive install, then you need to troubleshoot if the machine has gotten proper policy. Run a 'Machine policy retrieval and evaluation cycle' manually, wait a few minutes and then test again.
Suppress program notifications are the tray icons and bubble notifications about installations happening. Hidden is the method in which the executable/msi will install.

  • Is it possible to edit a pdf with Acrobat Pro XI that was created in LiveCycle?

I downloaded a trial version of LiveCycle awhile back. I created several forms. The trial period ended and I would like to change something. When I try to edit the pdf in Acrobat Pro it tells me that I must use LiveCycle to edit it. Is there a workaround for this? Thank you in advance for any replies.
    Dana

No, all LCD forms can only be edited in LCD.
And the second trial is probably not going to work, unless you install it
    on a different computer.
The best way to salvage your form, in my experience, is to print it to the
Adobe PDF printer, creating a new flat PDF file and then running the Form
Detection Wizard in Acrobat on it and continuing from there. It probably
won't do a perfect job, but it should recognize some of the fields.

  • Sharepoint 2010: prevent users from editing a list in the datasheet view

    Hi,
I have a sharepoint 2010 list that I need to prevent users to edit from the datasheet view. This is because I have edited the add item form on sharepoint designer and included some custom code. Moreover, I need to allow the users to view the list in datasheet
view to make use of the datasheet custom filter view feature which is not available in the standard view. So I need users to access the datasheet view of the list in read mode only but be able to edit the list in standard view only. Is this possible? How?
    Thanks,
    George

    Hi.
Maybe this helps...I found some users having the problem that the list WAS read only in datasheet view...this is a list of reasons why this could happen:
Certain columns, such as Created By and Modified, are always read-only. Values for these columns are entered automatically.
The changes you made to the selected row or column have been submitted to the server. If there is no conflict or error, you will be able to edit the row or column after the changes have been saved.
There is an unresolved conflict or error in the selected row or column. Resolve the conflict or error before attempting to edit the selected row or column.
The list is set up to require content approval, and you are viewing the list in the All Items view.
In the My Submissions view of a list that requires content approval, the
Approval Status and Comment column are read-only. Only a user with Manage Lists right can edit these two columns.
Attachments are read-only in a list that requires content approval. You cannot view or edit attachments in any of the views.
The document in the current row has been checked out by a user. You cannot edit the columns in the row until the user checks the document in.
You do not have permission to edit the column or row. Contact the list author for more information.

  • How do i edit this pdf file? Noob needs pro help

I have to translate this pdf file to spanish. i tryed the following " advanced edition -> edit text" didn't work... maybe they scanned the file? tryed: "document -> ocr text recognition"... didn't work either.
I have Adobe Acrobat Professional. i attached one page of thefile i want to edit. Please help me!!!

Have you tried the TOOLS>Advanced Editing>Touchup Text Tool? You will have to have the fonts on your system to do the edit. You might be able to change the font to something else on your system if needed. The file is all text (in boxes) and the touchup text tool should do the job. I was able to change the fonts to Arial (not all of them, there are a few that are still in the old font that are numbers). I have posted the result at http://wadavis.ece.vt.edu/CO2 ophir lenses.pdf. (you may have to replace the spaces with %20)

  • Text spacing goes crazy after editing a pdf in Acrobat 9 Pro Extended

Recently upgraded to Acrobat 9 Pro Extended from 7.  I have old pdf documents that need minor editing.  When I edit text with Text Touchup tool, I get an error that font substitution taking place, usually  TimesNewRoman Postscript to just TimesNewRoman.  Once I save the pdf, text throughout the entire document is spaced randomly, i.e. "Doc    ument is n    o     t     fo   m    atted  correctly".  I do not have the original source documents to re-scan or recreate the PDF.  If I create a new document using 9, I embed my fonts or I get the same problem.  I can't do this with the hundreds of old documents I have.  Is there a fix? I have tried Adobe Tech support via email with no response.
I am using Distiller to print to pdf.
I am using Vista Home Premium (ugh!) but tried it on an XP system with same results.
All my documents are text, and were OCR'd using Abbyy FineReader originally.

Thanks for the input, but I don't have the originals in either hardcopy or OCR'd files.  My workaround is to re-OCR the pdf, make the changes I need and then save to PDF.  This makes a lot more work.  I am really trying to figure out what changed in 9 from 7 that causes this to happen.  I believe it is an issue with the fonts, was just hoping for a fix.
The edits to these documents are minor, like removing some highlighting or taking away a few words of colored text, but they are necessary, just very unhappy that it now can take hours to do something it used to take minutes to do.

  • Editing a PDF with Acrobat

My company has quite a few PDF's that they use as standards for legal agreements and such and we are going through a name change within the company.  They are having me edit and change all of our PDF's to reflect the new name and also doing a lot of other changes.  I know you're not supposed to really edit a PDF after the fact but they have hundreds upon hundreds of data fields that link to similar fields and some autopopulate etc so recreating the PDF would proabably take longer than editing it.
The problem I am running into is often I edit one of the text fields and it changes the formatting for the entire page and screws everything up.  Is there a good way to edit text other than using the text editors in Acrobat and without having to recreate the entire document?

It's been a long time since I've used Acrobat 7 Pro but I have used Acrobat 8 Professional.
The key thing is to choose the correct tool. You're looking for the Touchup Text tool, which is probably on the Advanced Editing toolbar. You can probably open up that toolbar by choosing View > Toolbars > Advanced Editing. With that tool selected, drag through the sentence to be deleted. Right-click (Control-click) on the selected text and press Delete.

  • I can edit a pdf in Acrobat 9.2 but cannot in Acrobat 11 ( says its secured and I need password)? CCard company know nothing about passwords on PDF statement.

How can I edit my CCard statement (pdf) in Acrobat 11 (MAC)
when it says it is secured?  I can edit in Acrobat 9.2 on my PC.

    Hi Doug ,
Protected PDF' cannot be edited until and unless the they ain't unlocked or the the password is entered.
PDF' are secured so that nobody else misuses it .
If you are creator of that PDF ,you would certainly be knowing the password.
If not ,then please request the creator to tell you the password in order to edit it.
