What is required on the server?

What is required on the server in order to be able to run a java applet?
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance,
Michelle

Please clarify your question.
Are you asking if you need any special software on the server to be able to "serve up" a page that contains an Applet?
-or-
Are you asking if there is a way to ensure that the Applet will run properly on the client's machines?
For the 1st, as long as your server supports the common mime types, it will deliver the Applet to the client's browser.
For the 2nd, if you use the JSP plugin tag you can check for a specific version of the Java plugin. (See "http://java.sun.com/products/plugin/" If the client does not have the required version, they will be prompted to download it from Sun.
The best bet is to provide a link somewhere on your site to make it easy for clients to get the latest JRE from Sun.
I hope that helps.

    Moderator Advice:
If this is the same E2900 that you have mentioned in every one of your other forum posts, then it would seem you need to contact Technical Support and open a proper support request. These forums are NOT techsupport and that system seems so poorly configured that it needs deep analysis. Such investigation cannot be done by using an online forum.
The immediate solution is to log on to the SC of that box and power it down, then boot it back up. At least it will be running after that.

I'm not sure but I give it a try.Turn your security(WPA/WEP) and Firewall temporarely off. HOST is the IP address of the printer. QUEUE can be YES or a specific amount of prints, like 1,2,3......
If I look at the manual of your printer I see that you can find the IP and MAC addresses in the Network Configuration Report.I don't know what the USER is doing there because if there is a user then there must be a password.

  • What's Included in the Server Package

I have been using SBS08 for the past few years and we are now ready to upgrade our system to Server 2012. We have more users than would be allowed by the Essentials package.
When we purchased SBS08, it came with Exchange and SQL.
My question is what is included in the server package? Does it come with Exchange and SQL or do these applications have to be purchased separately?
    Thanks!

Server comes with Server.  You can see what is there by looking at the TechNet library.
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb625087.aspx
Applications like Exchange, SQL, SharePoint, etc. are all extras.
Personally (I do not work for Microsoft) when making a move like you are making, I would seriously consider looking into Office 365 or some other hosted Exchange service rather than paying to set one up internally.  My logic on this is that it is a
commodity.  I have seen very, very, very few Exchange installations that were different enough that the management of it was unique to the company and provided a strategic value to the company.  If your Exchange implementation is not of that
flavor, why bother with the internal expense of setting it up and managing it?  Initial reaction is often that one can do it for less than a subscription service, but if you look at all the costs of running it and the cost of the time it takes away from
working on applications that do provide strategic value to your company, you might find the cost of a subscription service to be less costly.

  • How and what to configure in the server configuration files of Tomcat Web ?

    Hi,
I am using TCP/IP socket connection pooling in my project. For pooling I have written code, I want once the tomcat webserver starts there should be at least 10 instances of connections to be created in the pool. Could any one please tell me how do I do this in the server configuration files (server.xml or web.xml).
    Thanks in Adv.
    JitDev2009

Take note: the mbaworld.com site has its Tomcat setup/environment poorly configured that the documentation which came along with Tomcat setup became indexed by Google. It has further completely nothing to do with Tomcat itself. Please refer Tomcat's own homepage at [http://tomcat.apache.org] for the documentation.

  • What's up with the Server Admin Tools update 10.3.5?

I keep getting the Apple update window with Server Admin Tools Update 10.3.5 checked off in its checkbox.
When I run the installation, it goes throught the status bar, etc, and then comes back up as needing installation.
The tools I run show 10.3 (v106) in the about window.
    What's up?
    thanx

Cliff, I am not sure why you are getting this update, but if you are not using Apples' Server and you are not that Servers System Administrator, Uncheck it and ignore it, you do not need it.
If by chance somewhere along the line you downloaded software that was not through the Software Update feature on your computer, you might have mistakenly downloaded some software you did not need.

  • I'm setting up my exchange email on my ipad but i don't know what the server would be?

I'm setting up my exchange mail but im unsure of what to insert in the server box???

When running the installer, before you proceed through the install screens, go to the Utilities menu, then Disk Utility.
In DU, select the drive on the left, go to the Partition tab, name the drive, set the Format to "Mac OS Extended (Journaled). Click Options and make sure the scheme is GUID Partition Table. Click Partition to reformat the drive.
Then close DU and proceed through the install screens. You should find the drive now appears when you get to the appropriate screen.

  • I initially set up Sync on my desk top but want my Favorites of my laptop to be on the server and have not set up my laptop yet. How do I replace the data on the server with my laptop info?

I downloaded Firefox 4 on my desktop and setup Sync. I just recently downloaded Firefox 4 on my laptop and have not setup Sync yet on my laptop. I want the Favorites of my laptop to be the data on Sync and overwrite what is already on the server via my desktop. How do I make my laptop my main computer now? Also, once I setup Sync, does it allow me to download the Favorites to be permanent on my desktop or on my laptop if I reformat it at a later point?

Is your device recognized by your computer? If yes, copy the pictures and videos as shown in this article:
Copying personal photos and videos from iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your computer
If it is not recognized, try this first: iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
Disable autosync in iTunes, right click on it in the device list and choose "transfer purchases" to copy apps and other media bought in iTunes to your new library.
Do the same again and choose "backup", to create a manual backup without syncing.
Since your device will be erased due to the new iTunes library during the first sync, you can use this backup afterwards to restore your settings and data.
Set up at least one contact and event on your computer before you start, to be able to merge calendars and contacts.

  • Computers users and the server

Our small business has 4 desk top computers (using Lion) that connect to a server (in house mac mini).  Each computer has 4 users that can log in and access the server.  We are being advised that the computer should only have an administrator and single user log in to make things less caotic and complicated.  We have always been set up with independent users.  What changed was the server was hosted on one of the desk tops.   When switching to Lion we added the server.  IT is telling us its like running 16 computers on the server, and causes lost connection.
    Please advise.

There is no reason you should have to have only one user account per computer. First of all, your Mac mini server should be capable of handling 16 connections without any problem. Second, presumably only 4 of those are in use at one time.
Some more details might be useful here. What are you using the server for? What Server operating system is it using? (10.7 or 10.8 presumably)
There is a section of Apple Support Communities that is devoted to server issues where you may be able to get more specific answers to your questions.
    For 10.7 Server go here.
    For 10.8 Server go here.
    Best of luck.

    .\SQLCMD.EXE -S \\.\pipe\MICROSOFT##WID\tsql\query -d "SUSDB" -Q "update tbConfigurationC set BitDownloadPriorityForegroud=1"
This should be considered a temporary fix. It will saturate your Internet connection during periods of WSUS downloads in this configuration.
The correct and permanent fix should be to resolve the failure of your perimeter device to properly support the HTTP v1.1 protocol specification (which is now some 14 years old).
Either your device is misconfigured, or it needs a firmware update to support the full specification.

  • Why i keep seeing email on iphone, even after i deleted it directly from the server?

Why i keep seeing email on iphone, even after i deleted it directly from the server?
This means it doesnt sync the server inbox, only keeps pushing new emails!
How to force it to realy sync every time the server inbox, and just show me in the iphone inbox exactly what i see in the server inbox???

I'm just fresh in iOS, but dont think its a POP/IMAP matter.
Always used mobile push email apps on symbian and android with POP and never had this issue.
    My usual former scheme is:
    a) My main email client is Outlook at my laptop (POP). This one is the master email client and after download new emails deletes them at the server.
    b) My secondary is a mobile email client (also POP) - just to see whats going on and maybe reply here and there.
Meaning, laptop does cut/paste and mobile does copy/paste
    So:
    a) If i download a new email first using my laptop, it will never be pushed latter from iphone (its not there anymore).
    b) If i download a new email first using my mobile app, and only then download it with laptop, it is still there available, and then gets deleted at the server.
    c) If i download a new email first using my mobile app and if i manualy delete it and then perform another sync, then this email is deleted at server, and will be no more available for download to laptop.
    Resuming:
1- The laptop ask to server what's in the inbox, downloads it all and then order the server to kill them all.
2- The iphone only ask whats new and downloads it all.
3- The iphone SHOULD ask server what's new, AND ask server what was removed from server inbox since last sync, AND tell server wich emails were removed at iphone since last sync.
As far i remember, at least one symbian app called Profimail does all this quite perfectly...
    Any ideas?

  • What are the ports required for the Audio, Video and A/V conferencing when the following end points are enabled for QoS in Lync 2013 server?

    Hi All,
What are the ports required for the Audio, Video and A/V conferencing when the following clients are enabled for QoS in Lync 2013 server?
    Client Type
Port range  and Protocol required for Audio
Port range and Protocol required for
    Video
Port range and Protocol required for
    A/Vconferencing
    Windows Desktop   Client
    Windows mobile App
    Iphone
    Ipad
    Andriod phone
    Andriod Tablet
    MAC desktop client
    Please advise. Many Thanks.

Out of the box, 1024-65535 for all of the client ports.  :)
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg398833.aspx
You'll want to tune your client ports a bit
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj204760.aspx as seen here, and then the client ports would use those ranges which is easier to set QoS markings.  I'm not sure the mobile clients respect that setting.
Elan's got the best writeup for Windows clients here:
    http://www.shudnow.net/2013/02/16/enabling-qos-for-lync-server-2013-and-various-clients-part-1/
However, the marking of the packets is the tricky part.  Windows can do it via Group Policy, but for the other clients you'll need to have the network specifically prioritize ports regardless of DSCP markings.  You have to do it based on ports
as the traffic could be peer to peer.

  • What are the essential services that are required for ensuring server is healthy up ?

    Hi All,
Please advise me What are the essential services that are required for ensuring server is healthy up ?
    Warm regards,
    jk1510

The easiest way to find the Health report of server or workstation follow the below steps which is very much easiest way to get it done
There are a few ways to find this in Windows Server 2008.
First click “Start” and type “Generate a system health report”
Or second navigate your way to the Control Panel choose “System and Security” and choose “Generate a system health report”.
The last is to type “Generate a system health report” into the “Search Control Panel” box in the upper right hand corner of the Control Panel window.
Once armed with this data it’s easier to refute or acknowledge an issue is at hand.
BTW if you’re looking for this same thing in Windows 7 it’s there just buried a bit more.
Search Performance in the Start Menu, choose “Performance Information and Tools”, click “Advanced Tools” from the menu on the left, and finally choose “Generate a system
    health report”.
