What is required to receive iBook/app payments to a Singapore based publisher?
I'm a sole trader based in Singapore.
I'm looking to publish iBooks and Apps.
What are all the legal requirements of me to do that and receive payments to my Singapore personal bank account?

JPEG with “.jpg” extension (quality unconstrained) or PNG with “.png” extension

Yes, a separate cover file is needed for display. My experience is if you have a cover for Amazon that is 600 px or greater on the longest side, you are fine with Apple.

I'm curious what is required to get an app on to a phone for testing. Do you need a a devleoper licenese for testing on your own phone?
well there is another way -> jailbreak you device. Find and download a certificate for flash (p12 or alike), generate IPA and upload via itunes... not the best way but in case you want to test something and have no idea if it even would work in Ios, say PV3D I would go that way. Otherwise it is pretty simple and without much requirements - go for a developer registration.
Also since you are in eductation try to contact apple may be you would get a free registration. -
Is it possible for a self-developed iOS app to download iBooks from our server and make the books available to the iBooks app?
My organization is evaluating publishing some free training manuals / textbooks as iBooks made with Apple's "iBooks Author" software. We don't necessarily want to use the iTunes Store for distribution because of the semi-sensitive nature of the content. To distribute the books to users with iPads, we've thought of using MDM software, a webpage, or an iOS app. The reasoning behind an iOS app is that the app would be a "download manager", making it much easier for a user to download all 42 books all at once. A user would install our "free training manual download manager" iOS app and use it to authenticate to a our server app that would serve the books, the end result being the books available via the iBooks app.

Actually Apple lets self-publishers distribute iBooks outside of the iTunes Store, as long as the iBooks are free (no cost to user).
What I'm wondering is if it's possible for a custom iOS app to side-load iBooks so that they're available to a user within the iBooks app.
If not, we'll either post the iBooks for download from our website or we'll use MDM software to push the iBooks to MDM-enrolled iPads.

I have purchased some app's like Whatsapp, Flashlight and more from App Store and after about 3 days of usage, all refuse to open up. I have received acknowledgement of payment via email. What should I do to reinstate them?

Hi,
My name is Norbert. I am having some difficulties restoring my icloud back up. My ipad was doing an icloud back up and the alert message displayed on the ipad after my internet was interrupted "A wi-fi connection is required to download your apps and media".
I got the internet working, my ipad is receiving internet network but the alert message is still displayed on the ipad and won't go away, to make matters worse the ipad is frozen and i can't do anything.
Please can anyone with a similar experience tell me what to do in this situation?

Have you tried a hard restart. Press the on/off button and homescreen buttons together until the device shuts down. -
I am confused about something. How do I read a book on my MacBook Pro? I can't find the iBook app anywhere, which is what I use on my iPad. The book I want to read is in my iTunes but I can't click on it. Some of my iBooks show up in my iTunes but they are "grayed" out. The only books that respond in iTunes are audiobooks and that's not what I'm looking for. Is this a stupid question?
Nevermind - I answered my own question, which is I CAN"T READ ANY BOOKS I purchased in iBooks on my MacBook Pro. If I want to read on my mac I have to use Kindle or Nook. Which means any book I've already purchased through iBooks has to be read on my iPad. Kind of a drag because there are times when it's more convenient for me to read while I'm sitting with my Mac.

What is the meaning, or significance, of the greyed out word “installed” next to the iBooks app icon in the iTunes lists of apps on my new iPhone6, or slightly older iPad mini, retina display? Both devices have iOS8.0.2 installed. Both are having problems downloading some books that had been purchased previously for other devices. And, before installing iOS8, the full list of had been downloaded to the iPad mini with iOS7.
Finding out what the greyed outness means may help me figure out how to get all my books loaded on both devices. Any suggestions how to do that also would be appreciated.Thank you. Your explanation of why the word "installed" is greyed out makes sense. But that raises the further question of why then is it shown at all. There are other apps on both devices that can not be removed,and they are just not shown. This is the only app that has the greyed out "install" notation. All of the other apps shown are either identified by "remove" meaning it is installed and can be removed; "install" meaning it is not installed but can be; or "update" meaning it has been replaced by a more current version which can be installed.
All of the books that I want to install have been on an iPhone4 that was replaced by the iPhone6, and were on the iPad Mini with iOS7 before iOS8 was installed. Installation of iOS8 on the iPad removed all of the books and only a few of them were later added by syncing with iTunes. Since most of the books I am interested in are free or of small cost, I would be happy to delete all of them from iTunes and then reinstall the ones I want directly on the devices. But I have not been able to delete them and when I try to install them on a device I am told that they already have been downloaded. Very frustrating. -
Are there any apps which will allow local calling using data only (not minutes, no extra charge) that do not require any special numbers called out initially and does not require the receiver to have a similar app or account? Just for random local calling.

I am looking for an ibook app form my MAC and can only find it for the iphone and the ipad. I like reading on my computer.... so what gives? I enjoy using my iphone but it becomes tedious and I dont need an ipad.

What is Required for Distribution of Desktop App

I'm trying to figure out what is required to distribute JMF. I don't want to make users install an executable, I just want to include required JARS/data files/libraries for a streaming webcam (no audio). (I have read the README and searched all over online, but I'm still not sure)
I create my app, and I have customizer.jar, jmf.jar, jmf.properties, mediaplayer.jar, multiplayer.jar, sound.jar in the lib folder. Although I only need the jmf.jar, and possibly the jmf.properties? I am using NetBeans.
Anyways, I still can't get it to work on another WinXP computer. If I disconnect my camera on my computer, the app still knows what type of device camera it is looking for (vfw:Microsoft WDM Image Capture (Win32):0), but when I trying to run it on another computer with or without the camera connected , it doesn't seem to know because no devices print out when I print the list.

What is the difference between "viewable/ printable payment history" and my "payments received history"? Shouldn't my "payments received" (money verizon got from me) be my "payment history"?
I have not directly myself. One of the reps put me on hold while they said they spoke to finical services. He said they would not turn off my phone while he (the rep) looked into the problem. He couldn't give me a phone # to call him back the next day and told me he would call me instead on my home land line phone #. But what I got the next day was a text message that started with" DO NOT RESPOND" to this text message and it said that I was past due on my account, and that it was due immediately. signed out again with only his first name and no phone # again. Thing is he promised he could help in my first conversation with him, where I had started with "can I speak with a supervisor as I did not want to have to repeat the whole spiel again as he was going to be my third time". He said he was authorized to take care of all & any problems and I did not need a supervisor. I took him at his word and said OK. Turns out like I said earlier…I wasted 2 hours on the phone. Can't find him as I don't know what call center and no last name. I should have gotten that up info front. Hindsight is 20/20.

Yesterday I downloaded iOS 6 in all innocence and since then my iBooks app will only appear in German. Surely it is possible to choose the language you read in? Will everyone who leaves the UK or USA find the iPad automatically chooses the language of the connection being used?? Ridiculous! Does anyone know how to sort this out?? Maybe Apple do?

Here is my advice, at least. Not sure if anyone will agree, but it is my take on the problem.
With the Edge program, there is a "possibility" that someone will pay full price for a phone. This is not always the case, though. IF you do not complete ALL of the 24 months of payments, then you WILL NOT have paid full price for the phone, but simply a portion of the full price. THAT is why it does not make the plan "eligible" to keep your unlimited data. With the Edge plan, technically you only have to pay 50% of the full price before you can trade it in for another phone on the Edge plan. The way the plan is designed, the majority of people WILL NOT ever pay full price for the phone, but only a portion of the full price before they exchange their phone for a new device. That is what Verizon is hoping for, at least.
As Ann154 has pointed out, you can use the Device Payment Plan and keep your unlimited data. At no time during your contract can you trade THAT phone in to get another phone. You would have to continue making the payments on THAT phone along with any other phone you upgraded to. THAT is the difference between the 2 plans. You WILL end up paying full price for the phone on the Device Payment Plan, where you can STOP making payments on a phone with the Edge Plan if you turn it in for another device.

IBooks app - no longer available
I have tried numerous times to download the "iBook app" from the App Store for my iPad but I continuously receive the message that is no longer available. Is this for real, or is it just a temporary App Store glitch?
If no longer available,what is the best ebook download site for iPad?There are really weird things going on with the App Store in the last two days. It seems to be impossible to browse through the apps properly. There are four discussions going on with that issue today. I am assuming the App Store is on the "fritz" as we used to say back in the day.

I am unable to access my iBooks library from my iPad through the iBooks App. Recent changes to the app says I require IOS 5.0 which I don't have because I have the original IOS that came with my iPad (the original released version) I have an extensive library that I cannot access. What do I do?

Why do you think you cannot upgrade to iOS 5? That should work fine. iOS 6 is not possible for iPad 1. -
I have an iPad with OS 5.1.1, and 5 megs of free RAM. I bought it specifically because I want to download iBooks from the iTunes store, but now I find that I need the free iBooks app to do that, and when I try to download it, I'm told that I can't because it requires OS 7 or higher.
I have trouble believing that there's no solution to this problem -- I have friends who read iBooks on their iPads with early operating systems all the time, but they're busy right now, and I don't want to disturb them. Anybody have any suggestions?
MargretRosieYes! Definitely I appear to be doing something wrong, but I can't figure out what. I clicked on the link that King Penguin supplied, and got the Italian version. He's talking to me in English; I'm sure he's not deliberately supplying me with a link to the Italian version, and, in fact, the page I downloaded it from was written in English. Which does not change the fact that what installed on my Windows computer was in Italian. I'm at a total loss here. I've no notion how this is happening. I've tried Googling "iTunes for Windows in English," and I get directed to the same page, and a download that installs an Italian version (though the installation itself uses English, which is not what I'd expect from something that's installing Italian speaking software). Nothing this strange has ever happened to me before, and at 61 years old I've had time to see a lot of strange things.
I'm totally baffled, very frustrated, and worrying that I've just spent over $100 that I can barely afford for something that will prove to be a complete waste. And don't get the idea that just because I'm in my sixties I'm senile; I am, in fact, genius level, not that it's helping very much. The fact that I'm willing to ask for help is good evidence of my intelligence. I'm old enough and smart enough to know when I'm out of my depth and in need of assistance, and I'd supply more information if I had any. If I knew what I was doing wrong I wouldn't keep doing it.

How to show php 'include' file in Design View?
Is it possible (in design view MX04) to show a php include file? It shows if it's <?php include('myPage.inc'); ?> but if its got the .php ext, <?php include('myPage.php'); ?> its doesnt show. Any way of making it show? Cheers. Os.
