    Thanks. Short of the sort of "generic" suggestions of restaring your system, if you haven't, and repairing disk permissions and verifying the disk, I don't have any advice right now. I'll do some research and see if I can come across anything. Meanwhile, someone else may have an idea.

    Hi renmusn79002737,
    Could you please try installing Reader again from the below mentioned link:
    http://get.adobe.com/reader
    Ensure that you are logged in as administrator and anti-virus is disabled as that might interrupt downloading.
    Try again and then let me know.

    I already had the Developer folder at the top level of the disk. What did work for me was to not let the install location default, but to actively select the Developer folder. (You may have to modify some permissions for this.) The install was a success and I've confirmed the tools are working.
    Good luck!

    Welcome to Apple's discussion groups.
    Try using Disk Utility to run a "verify disk" operation. If that shows an error, restart your Mac with the shift key down to boot into "safe mode", which will run a disk repair operation.

    Hello...
    I am having the exact same problem this person was having, except that I wasn't able to repair permissions. When I attempt to do this, I get this message:
    The underlying task reported failure on exit.
    Does this mean that I have to do an Archive and Install? In which case, would you mind walking me through that process? <:)
    I really have no idea why this is occurring, as well..if you could explain that to me, I'd be very grateful.

  • What is "run pregrade script for apple devices"?

    What  is  "Run pregade script for Apple Device mean. I am tryong to down load Itunes 10.5 on my 2005 Mac. What is the problem?

    Are you sure that's how the error message is phrased? Are you sure it doesn't actually say "run preupgrade script for Apple Mobile Device Support"? (note in particular the difference between "preupgrade" and "pregrade" as you have phrased it)
    If it really does instead say "preupgrade", not "pregrade", here are a couple of threads with suggestions:

  • Run Preinstall Script in PackageMaker

    I'm using PackageMaker to install an app update and want to add a preinstall script to delete some files in the /Applications/ folder. The script is simply:
    #!/bin/bash rm /Applications/...
    etc.
    If I run this script with Terminal using
    bash preinstall.sh
    it works fine.
    However, when I add it to PackageMaker and run the .mpkg file the script opens in Text Edit but does not run. How do I get it to run but not open?

  • Preinstall script for MacOSXUpdCombo10.5.4 failed

    Tried installing 10.5.4 update automatically via Software Update - system hung.
    Downloaded combo update to manually install. Encountered error message: The Following install step failed: run preinstall script for MacOSXUpdCombo10.5.4. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance.
    Ran repair disk permissions. Same error.
    Tried installing under Root. Same error.
    Tried installing MacOSXUpdCombo10.5.2. Same error.
    Anyone encounter similar issue and knows solution please advise?
    Cheers.

    This is the little script in the installer that check to see if your machine is "eligible" for the update (many programs have it). Try downloading Pacifist, and drag the package from the update onto it. Have it install from there.
    If you experience rough performance, do an Archive and Install, and rerun the combo to 10.5.4.

  • Send to VRU and Run Ext Script

    Hi All;
    I am adding a new vxml browsers and I need to send some calls (based on If statement) to those vxml browsers, so I added a Network VRU (with a new labels) and I added Network VRU script and at the ICM script, I placed if statement and based on it I am using Run Ext script which use the required Network VRU Script. But the problem I am facing it, that still the returned label for the CVP is the same label that is used with the original VXML browsers ! How I can resolve it.
    I tried to set the default network vru (at the PG configuration) to be this new Network VRU, but still it is returning the original label that is used to send to the original VXML browsers.
    How I can resolve this label issue and let the returned label to be 8333333333 instead of 8111111111 (ofcourse this in case the Run Ext Script was calling the new Network VRU Script, but if the Run Ext Script was the current Network VRU, then to return the label 8111111111)? How to do this
    Kindly give a look for the pictures of the configuration and some logs that help.
    Regards
    Bilal

    Hey Bilal,
    Ok, it's actually quite difficult to single out a gateway or a couple of gateways on a per-call basis 'the right way'. Once you add a gateway to your Gatekeeper, SIP Proxy or Static Routes setup, you'll have a round robin mechanism that's pretty much not changeable on a per-call basis.
    If it's just to test these gateways for a limited period of time, try this :
    Open Configuration Manager - ICM Instance Explorer;
    For your Instance you should have one Customer Definition with the same name, add a second Customer Definition, i.e. 'Test';
    Now go to the Next VRU Explorer, add a new Type 10 VRU, and give it a (slightly) different label from the normal one, define the Customer as 'Test';
    Go back to the Customer Definition and assign your new VRU to that Customer Definition;
    Create a new test Dialed Number for your existing Routing Client and be sure to pick your 'Test' customer, continue to create a Call Type, Script and Network VRU Scripts as you always would;
    Route the new Label only to your new gateways.
    You would remove all of this configuration and make the new gateways use the same labels as the others once you are ready to put this in production, But it will at least allow you to route some calls through them.
    Note: you may be able to do all the same things but using your existing Network VRU, just adding a new label to it for your newly defined Customer Definition. I'm not sure if ICM will pay attention to the Customer when picking a label for a Network VRU.
    Cheers,
    Kris

  • I keep getting this message when wanting to download latest itunes software update :The following install step failed: run preupgrade script for AppleMobileDeviceSupport. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance. what can i do to download?

    The following install step failed: run preupgrade script for AppleMobileDeviceSupport. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance. what can i do to download software when the above message keeps popping up...not allowing me to download

    I had the same problem this weekend.  The iphone 4s needed Itunes10.5 to sync to her Asus Windows 7 Laptop.  When I tried to download from the Apple website I got the error that the windows installer was missings files or something like that.  I uninstalled itunes and tried again but that didn't work.  Then I redownloaded itunes 10.3 just to have a working version in case I gave up.  Then I found site that suggested I update Windows by going through the start menu and while doing that I found an update Apple itunes file.
    Goto Start and type Widows Update in the seach window.  Click on check for updates (I already was current with all updates but I suggest you download the updates if there are some available.
    Goto start and this time just type update in the search window.  Look for the Apple itunes update link and click on it.  It found there were updates for itunes 10.5, Quick time, Safari, and Icloud.  I checked all the updates except for Safari, since we don't use it (yet).
    The install started then seemed to stall at one spot for ~3min but then completed successfully.  I open itunes and had her synced with Outlook Contact, Email, Calender, and Notes in 5 minutes.  I did already configure Outlook by going to tools and Trust Center.
    I hope this works.

  • HT1199 I have been trying to redownload  itunes.  The download seems stuck on the "Running Package Scripts" page.  It says "about one minute" remaining for the download but, that was 2 hours ago.  Anything I can do?

    I have been trying to re-download itunes.  This is in an effort to try to recover my new iphone 5s which after the latest update, was put into recovery mode.  When I connected to itunes, I was given the message that I couldn't recover the phone.  So, support suggested that I re-download itunes.  The installation seems stuck on the "Running Package Scripts" page.  It says it only has about a minute left to complete this process - however that was over 2 hours ago!  Help!  What can I do next?

    Disconnect the iPhone from your Mac.
    Shut down your Mac, wait about ten seconds then restart.
    Then try downloading iTunes >  Apple - iTunes - Download iTunes Now
    Do not reconnect the iPhone until iTunes is installed.
    If that didn't help, the startup disk may need repairing.
    Launch Disk Utility located in HD > Applications > Utillities
    Select the startup disk on the left then select the First Aid tab.
    Click:  Verify Disk  (not Verify Disk Permissions)
    If DU reports errors, start up from your Mac install disc to make repairs.

  • Why is the battery life dropping so fast on my iphone 4s. Just started all of a sudden today, never did it before. I already double-clicked the bottom button to see what was running and nothing was running. I checked multiple times and turned apps. off.

    All of a sudden today my battery life just started dropping off on my iphone 4s. I charge it every night. I double clicked the circle button on the bottom to see what was running and there was minimal running but i turned them off anyway. I checked back in a little bit, the same, turned the couple things off again which were like phone and messages... nothing major running. Battery percentage still plummeted til it just turned off.

    Are there apps on your phone right now?
    I think one of your apps is causing this.
    The only way to find out is to delete them all and then add them one by one to see what app maybe causing this.
    Especially if you've gone thru 3 iphones already.
    When you restored as new - did you sync back your stuff - apps/music or did you restore from backup?

  • Running perl scripts off the preinstall script during a pkgadd

    Hello,
    I'm trying to build a custom package (apache2 + mysql + php + other stuff) and get stuck on some stone wall that I can't figure.
    Correct me if I'm wrong in my assumptions, and if able, could you provide a work around ? Here it is :
    - The preinstall script must be in /bin/sh , /bin/bash or any valid shell
    - Must be run by root, 'f course
    Now.. As I'm not that strong on bash/sh scripting, I tried to call a perl script off my preinstall script. Somehow my preinstall script just never call the .pl .
    This leads me to my third assumption :
    - It is impossible, not permissible to run other scripts from the preinstall script.
    Basically the perl script checks for some users in /etc/passwd + /etc/group, checks for some directories, create a custom SMF manifest, etc etc . I pretty much want the .pl script to be run.
    The script itself is well packaged, correctly inserted in the package's pkgmap, and so on.
    Any ideas ?
    Thanks,
    Jeff
