What is SAP CRM On-Demand Solutions ?

Hi Gurus
What is  SAP CRM On-Demand Solutions ? Does it have a separate certification programme on the same ?
Thanks
Jaman

Hi Jaman,
There is no CRM-on-demand solutions. It is only one solution. Have a look at www.salesforce.com which is another hosted CRM solution by another software vendor to get good idea.
The idea is that for the customers who are not yet on CRM and want to try it with smaller investments first before making a big investment into a full fledged CRM Online, SAP has provided a quickly configurable, hosted on servers owned by SAP, quick to subscribe & less expensive but with limited functionalities CRM solution.
The initial configuration time could be 1-7 days which is far far less than any of the CRM Online solutions.
Advantage of CRM on Demand by SAP is that once you decide to go large with full fledged CRM implementation, all your data can be migrated in no-time, as SAP has planned the data model in such a way to make it map with CRM Online data model. And I dont all, but it is more than just the data model which is mapped. I think the interfacing APIs etc also are on similar lines to the Online version of CRM.
There is not separate certification for CRM on Demand for sure and I dont think there is any need for it, or is there any?
Gregor & Michael, may be you can share more knowledge here.
Cheers!!
Vivek

what exceptions does crm on demand throw when it encounters errors? i want to catch it in Java but i don't know what it throws.
in my case, i issued an Execute method and it returned saying it can't process since it has more than 20 objects. I want to catch that exception but i don't know what exceptions to catch.
Do you know where I can find out what exceptions crm on demand throws when it encounters errors?

I will be starting , rather driving a new SAP CRM Rapid Deployment Solution implemention project starting from next week.

Basically, someone who can lend me support at crucial times.

    Hi Laura,
Could you move the mouse over the exclamation mark next to the status icon to see the error message? Most probably it comes from AWS. If so, you can get the error code from the message and search by it in http://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/APIReference/api-error-codes.html
Most probably the error code is PendingVerification as I see such an error received by an user with your name. If this is the case i'd recommend to terminate this instance and retry to create a new one later.
    Best regards,

  • Can I use SPRO to configure SAP CRM web based application.

    Hi,
I am just 5 days old in SAP solutions.
I want to know if I can use SPRO (IMG) to configure master data and business processes pertaining to SAP CRM web based solution ?
    Regards,
    Diptendu.

    Hi Diptendu,
You can indeed do some customizing in the SPRO regarding for example the PCUI (People Centric User Interface) of CRM.
Within SPRO take CRM and afterwards in the Basic Functions you have some customizing to be done. You can also look at the cookbook for the PCUI, which you can find on the service.sap.com/crm-inst site.
For the Interaction Webclient, there is a specific part for customizing in the SPRO under CRM --> Interaction Webclient.
    Hope this helps,
    Kind regards,
    Micha

  • CRM on demand - cost

Can someone share info on the CRM on demand pricing strategy?
    PK

    Dear PK,
SAP CRM on-demand – pricing model
SAP's new CRM on-demand platform has a simplified pricing model -- $75 per user is the base price for using either marketing, sales force or service automation modules or $125 for all three suites -- but integrating it with back-end systems and mapping data to the on-demand platform will result in additional costs to many firms.
But customizing the software based on individual business needs and the ability to integrate data between on-premise and hosted locations, adds complexity that some customers may find unwieldy, according to industry experts. That added complexity could increase costs in the form of consulting fees.
For example, if a customer wants to import credit check history or access sales history information, the data has to be integrated into the on-demand system, Martinez said. SAP touts a similar data structure and architecture between its on-demand and on-premise back end systems, but the information that a customer wants to exchange between the systems is going to be the customer's choice, he said.
Integrating to a company's SAP back-end systems, integrating between non-SAP systems and customizing the software to meet a company's individual business requirements are three areas that could potentially attract consulting
    Hope this helps.

However,  Ingo Hilgefort stated in his book that it is at least possible to access  ABAP Functions, SAP Querries and SAP InfoSets.
What is the minimum product portfolio and the necessary Version - Can I install the following products stand alone ?

  • Rapid Deployment Solution for SAP CRM - Landscape

    Hi
For the first time we have applied the Rapid Deployment Solution for SAP CRM ITSDO into our new DEV system.  The activation of this RDS creates 2 transports  (one WORKBENCH, one CUSTOMIZING)
I now need to apply the RDS to our QA and PRD systems - is it enough to just transport the 2 transports or do I need to do the entire activation again in both QA and PRD systems?
I would really appreciate any assistance here.
    Thanks

    Hi Leigh,
Just wondering how you got on with those transports.. Was it sufficient for you to release the Solution Builder transports to target system or did you need to carry out manual activities in the target system?
Also, What did you do with regard to activating the reporting client in the target system? did the transport take care of everyting?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
