What is SAP procedure to post credit memo without reference

Hi,
I was wondering what is the standard SAP solution for posting a credit memo to a customer without referencing the original sales order.
The goal is to not have to create a return sales order or post only a credit memo invoice against the original order. I was wondering if this procedure exists? I just need to be able to post the credit to the customer, no refernce necessary.
Also, Let's say we want to issue a partial credit back to the customer. Is there a way to do this without reference. I would actually like to know what are the best recommended ways for using both with and without reference to the original sales order.
Last item. After the credit is posted. What is the best way to reverse the payment. Should I use txn FB08?
Thanks for your help,
Best, Erik

Thanks G. Do you happen to know how to reverse out the payment with or without reference to the original order?
For instance. I want to reverse multiple payments out together by grouping the a total. So basically i will group the total credit memo balance and post in FB70..Then i need to group the total payment balance and post. Is there a procedure for the payment portion.
Thanks again for your help.

  • COPA -Credit Memo without reference to a Billing Document

    Hi -
When we create a credit memo without reference to a billing document ( Manully entering a value in condition type), Data flows to COPA as -ve irrespective of +/- sign ticked in KE4I. This creates inconsistancy  if we chose +/- for some discount condition types as they come to COPA as positive when the credit memo is created with reference. Any ideas, how to handle this ??
More info: In SD conditon type maintenance plus/minus = positive. It has to be postive then only customer gets credited when a credit memo is created.
    Thanks
    Krishna

    Thanks Ajay -
    Example:
    1) I have a condition type in billing  Z012 - Additinal Discounts... asigned to VV230 - Discounts. From billing, VV230 gets a +ve value lets say $100.
    2) I have a credit memo ( stand alone, not refering to a billing doc), it has a condition type ZZ12 which can be manually entered and is also assigned to VV230. Now, VV230 gets -ve values lets say -$50.
In reporting, VV230 shows $50 ( +100-50), but the total discounts given to customer is $150.
    Where is it going wrong?
    Thanks

  • Is it possible to create a Credit memo without reference doc

    Hi,
I need to create a billing document (VF01) without passing the refernce document number. Is there any way to create this? While creating the billing document i just want to pass only items.
    Thanks In Advance,
    Regards,
    Raj

the answer is that you can create a Credit Memo request (sales document) without a reference to a billing document. The settings for this are maintained in
    SPRO>Sales and Distribution>Sales>Sales Documents>Sales Document Header>Define Sales Document Types
In the sales document type, the field that controls whether a reference document is necessary is in the General Control pane and is called "Reference Mandatory" - BEZOB
If that field is blank you don't need a reference number. You can also generate the actual Credit Note (billing document) without any problems. All accounting entries are carried out as normal.
    SAP help says:
    Reference mandatory
Indicates whether, when you create a sales document, a reference document is mandatory. If so, the indicator also specifies which type ofreference document you should use.
    Use
When you try to create a sales document that has a mandatory reference document, the system automatically prompts you for the number of the reference document.

    Thanks in advance,

    Hi Vijay,
I could not found any field for Inv. reference in the Payment Tab of T.Code FB75.
Is there any facility in SAP to create Credit Memo for a particular customer with reference to Invoice. All the details of that Invoice should get updated in the credit memo automatically.

    Hi,
    in OADB, our setting :-

  • Warning message while posting Credit Memo.

    Hi Guru,
Currently the Invoice shows a soft warning message if a same number
in Reference field (XBLNR) is used to post two different inovices.
the client wants the same kind of Soft message to be appeared in case of a same number is used in the Reference Field when Posting credit memo. I think the check shd be against Accounting Doc right??
Incase of invoice we have a check for duplicate invoice in SPRO and we can maintian it..
What about credit Memo??? we do have any config...to my knowledge we need technical development.
In Se91 i will go and create new Message and assign it to M8(Message Class for invoice)........and do assignments in OBA5
Now the soft warning msg can be achieved only by calling this msg in ABAP Code right??? can be done thru Config..?????.
if any other details if i need to know please do let me know.....or anyother suggestions....to achieve this,,,
Is it a Config or Developement ???
    Thanks for the support
    Balaji

In OBA7 if i check the "Reference number" that means while entering the document the reference number is compulsory field.
and in vendor master i already checked the docueble invoce check that is why while posting KR it is giving the warning message.

  • What is tcode to create a credit memo ?

What is tcode to create a credit memo ? please tell me the steps ?

    Hello,
    <b>Credit memo: Document type - G2</b>
    1.     Credit memo is generally issued in two cases - either when customer returns goods previously purchased and requires a credit or customer is credited without reference to any return of goods when goods sent to him are found to be defective and a return delivery or a repair would exceed the cost. in this case the customer is requested to scrap the material sent and is given an account credit.
    2.     Another case is when the customer is over charged for goods he purchased and we only realise that after billing.
    3.     when configuring the sales document type “credit memo request” G2 – you can automatically set a billing block that can be released by an authorised person during processing prior to billing.
    4.     It is the billing in the finance dept, which in turn is the actual creation of a credit note that is sent to the customer.
    5.     It is suggested to make the rejection reason, reference to billing document (invoice) and billing block in credit memo a mandatory field to ensure the traceability.
    6.     standard item category used is G2N; order related billing type – G2 (invoice)
    7.     Items in contracts and credit memo requests do not have schedule lines as there is no movement of material involved.
    8.     Update document flow is activated when using copy control rules for copying from an invoice to a credit memo request.

  • Procedure for creating credit memo for sales return

    Dear Gurus,
Please let me know the procedure creating a credit memo for sales returns.
I am able to cancel the invoice using vf11. create a return sales order using vao1. create a retrun delivery using vl01n, transfer the stock from returns to blocked to unrestricted use using mb1b and movement types 459 and 343.
Pls let me know the procedure for creating the credit memo for the goods receipt of sales return.

    Dear,
I am not geeting your question but well i explain in my company scenarion,
        1)    We create the Sales Order : VA01 ( Order type : ZREW : Return without invoice, ZRES : Return with Invoice)
Here, ZREW is our own created order type and it is maintain in config.
ZRES is use for Return with invoice. In that we enter the bill number in return sales order which sales.
        2)    In Delivery : VL01N : That is base on Return Sales order.
        3)    In Billing   : VF01 : Create credit memo with resp. to delivery number.
Credit memo type : Same as sales order,
ZREW : Crd Return (W/O Inv)
                                                    ZRES  : Credit For Returns.
    Hope it will help you.

  • Credit  memo without cancelling  the invoice

    Hello ,
my  customer  has  a  request  to  create  a  credit  memo  for  full  invoice  and  then  invoice  the  delivery  note  again
with  different  price  in  the  invoice.........But  without  cancelling  the  original  invoice.
As  far  I  know  SAP  standard  dont  allow  this  kind  of  procedure  due  the  status  of  the  delivery.Am  I  right?
In  which  way  this  could  be  done? What  is  the  right  procedure  for  creating  credit  memo  ?
    Thanks and  best  regards
    L

    Hi Luis,
This is kind of wierd requirement. How can there be 2 legitimate invoices for 1 order/delivery??
If you dont cancel the first one, system will not allow you to create a new one.
Did you check with the users as to why they want such thing..  You can expalin them the process and make them understand.
    Let us know.

  • AP Credit Memo Without Outgoing Excise Invoice

    Hi ,
When we create an A/P Invoice for an excise item ,and then when we raise an A/P credit memo for the same .. Automatically an Outgoing Excise Invoice is created ...Now because of this the series of the outgoing excise invoice , which is created usally through sales is disrupted and its a legal issue over here .. So Can you please let me know if there is any other way to raise the A/P credit memo without the OEI being created .. The exicable tick does not work as we are not able to change the Tax code from the A/P credit memo.
Thank you for your answers and suggestions ,
    Best Regards ,
    Arul..

This is a limitation with SAP Business One.
What we do as a workaround is, create a seperate numbering Series for 'Outgoing Excise Invoice' say 'APRet' and set this series as default to some user say 'Raman'
While booking 'AP Credit Memo' we login with user 'Raman' and book the document and in turn it uses 'APRet' series for 'Outgoing Excise Invoice' without violating legal issues.
Hope this would solve your problem.

  • Credit note from a credit memo with reference - Pricing

    Hi Gurus,
I have created a Credit Memo (CR) with reference to an invoice (F2). The pricing procedure in the F2 is copied to CR, following the copy control defined. (what I expected).
However, when creating the credit note (G2), the pricing procedure selected is the one defined for credit notes, and not the one in the credit memo. (I didn't expect this).
I have this config. in the system:
    - XD03: Cust.Pricing Proced: "1"
    - VOV8: Docum.Pricing Proced: "P"
    - OVKK: for the combination of Sales ORgDCH"P"+"1" --> pricing procedure is ZPROAC  (this is pricing procedure for G2.
The pricing procedure in the Credit Memo (CR) is ZNETO1.
Copy control config is the following:
    - VTFA:  G2 - CR.
Copy requirements at header level: 001
    At item cat. (G2N): copy requirement: 002 Item/order-related; Data VBRK/VBRP: 002 Ord-rel.credit memo
    Pricing type: G
Could you provide any comments here?
    Thanks
    Julian

    Dear Julian,
First of all Copy control does not controls the copying of pricing procedure from one doc to another.
Pricing procedure will be same as per your pricing procedure determination.
It controls the copying of values for particular condition types from one doc to another.
I have created a Credit Memo (CR) with reference to an invoice (F2). The pricing procedure in the F2 is copied to CR, following the copy control defined. (what I expected).
In this case I think Pricing procedure defined for both doc types F2 and CR is same, thats why all the pricing is copied as it is to CR.
if they are not same but all the condition types which are there in pricing poc. of F2 are also in pricing proc. of CR then pricing values will be copied without any change. (Still sequence of condition types in pricing proc. can make diff.)
pricing procedure is ZPROAC (this is pricing procedure for G2.
The pricing procedure in the Credit Memo (CR) is ZNETO1
Since the pricing procedure is different for both doc types, There could be some condition type which are there in ZNETO1 but not in ZPROAC.
Which ever condition types are common will be copied.
I will suggest you to keep pricing procedure same for both the doc types CR and G2.
Or atleast all condition types of ZNETO1 should be there in ZPROAC in appropriate sequence. (ZPROAC can have addition condition types as per your requirement.)
    Regards

  • Credit Memo Invoice Reference for EDI (Inbound)

    Hello,
When posting Credit Memos with EDI, SAP is not checking the invoice reference in IDOC segment E1EDK02 QUALF 009 to match the credit memo for vendor invoice that is already posted in the system.
Is there a note or config that needs to be done to invoke the reference number checking for Credit Memos?
We are on ECC 5.0 using INVOIC02.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank You.

    Hi PP,
thankyou.  My Credit memo request has the previous date.  Date of Confirmation and service rendered.
When billing, i am not able to change settings.. as the fields were greyed out.
I am not too familiar with CRM billing .. but in ECC .. we use the Date Service Rendered.  this date would take the correct VAT effective date.
When i go to the item overview, all the fields have been greyed out.   and i am not able to change any fields.  is there somewhere in the settings that i could make the Pricing date and Date Serv. Rendered   editable in the credit memo
    thank you
