What is "server port" in email settings

How do I determine the "server port" in email setting?

Yes, that's the size of the web data for the particular site.  Its contents is as I stated above.
You have the option to delete the data (at the bottom) if you don't think the space being used is worth the added value the data offers.

  • What just happened with my email settings?

Whenever I have composed an email in the past, I would always be able to change the font size to make the print larger.  The options for that would be right there on the screen.
Now it's not there anymore.  Is there a way I can pull it back up again and if so, how do I do it?
I am only able to change the default settings which doesn't seem to do anything for the font size.
    Solved!

Without knowing your browser and/or OS I would guess if you run Internet explorer it could be the recent update to version 11, try running this site in compatibility mode

  • What are the incoming and outgoing settings to set up freeserve email accounts on ipad2

I have an Ipad 2 and am trying to set up email from an old Freeserve account in the UK, I have set this up and can receieve emails but cant send emails.

After many, many, frustrating hours trying to set this up on my Dad's iPad, I think I have found a solution. Thought I'd share it in case anyone else was still perservering with a freeserve email address.
    It basically involved
    - setting up a pop3 account (Settings/Mail,Contacts, Calendars/Add account/Other/Add mail account) with pop.orangehome.co.uk and smtp.orangehome.co.uk as the incoming and outgoing settings
    - letting it try to 'verify' those settings (which will probably fail)
    - if asked 'Do you want to try without SSL' (or similar), click no
    - Dismiss the window which says something like 'this account may not be able to send or receive emails' and save the settings as they are.
    - Go back into the account you have just set up and there should be some more settings to fiddle with - 'SMTP' and 'Advanced'.
    - In 'Advanced', switch 'Use SSL' to off and change the Server port to 110, then go back to the previous screen
    - Click on SMTP. It will probably show the primary server as smtp.orangehome.co.uk. After fiddling around with the settings for ages I decided to see what would happen if I used a different smtp server. I had previously set up a gmail account, so I tried smtp.gmail.com. For the record, this already had my email address as the user name, my gmail password, SSL on, Authenticaion as password and port as 587. Low and behold - it worked. I'm no expert but I assume this just means it is using the gmail 'route' to send an email rather than the freeserve/orange/EE route.
If you haven't got a gmail account to use, it might be worth setting one up just for this purpose.

  • HT201320 What is incoming and outgoing mail server and server port number

What is incoming and outgoing mail server and server port number

    See applenerd504 previous reply:
These specifications that allow you to send and receive messages on your iPhone. If you are using iCloud Mail, Gmail, or another service listed in the selector in settings, they should be automatically configured. If not, you may need to look up certain numbers for your email service.
Putting it in slightly different terms:
If you are using a web-mail system like gmail (with a gmail email address) all the mail sending, receiving and management is done on Google servers. In these cases you will only need to have a working internet connection to be able to log in to the service to access its data.
Supplying mail sever names and port numbers should only be needed if you are using a traditional (non-web) email account where you are accessing the mail servers directly. This would be typical for a email account set up by someone like your ISP (Internet Service Provider), in these cases you will have to ask them for the appropriate settings.

  • Why is my server not working?  What am I doing wrong?  settings are posted.

Ok, I'm so overwhelmed, but not willing to give up! I would like to set up this server in my home through our Comcast Cabel modem on a mac mini. Our IP has not changed in 2 years with comcast. If I get this working, I plan to move this server, and go live in our company office, which DOES have a static IP address. But I need to set this up and start testing all the solutions like VPN, iCAL, ICHAT, and Address Book.
VPN has been my main service to set up first and test! IF I can get that to work, I hope to get the others to work as well. It's also the first mission critical. I think my DNS settings are somehow off either at Network Solutions or something on my server...
I've been using "help" from various responses to other problemshere in these discussions and other places, and now, I'm just overwhelmed and confused, so it's now my turn to post the problem and ask for help!
I'll post this with REAL IP information, because I think it will help other people in the same situation. Also, once I get this to work, I plan to move it a new location, and then request a change of my home IP from comcast....
I welcome and REALLY appreciate any help. I'm at wits end... normally, I can figure these kinds of tech puzzles, but I could use guidance here!
    Thanks!
    Ethan-
I bought and installed OS X server 10.6. on a brand new Mac Mini.
Here is the story. The domain I bought and own is bostonbecker.com
Network Solutions is where I bought and manage the domain. It allows me to change the DNS from theirs to another one, so I have it pointing to a hosting company we use called PaeTec. I can't find a place that lets it point the domain to my home router IP address.
so inside Network Solutions, the domain name servers are
    HDNS1.FAST.NET
    HDNS2.FAST.NET
The above domain name servers are given to me from dedicated hosting company to point to their computers.
To control that dedicated server from the hosting company, we login to that system via PLESK via Safari.
So, using Plesk, I've logged into our dedicated server, opened the settings for bostonbecker.com and created the following under the control for DNS settings:
In the picture above, the ip address 24.60.63.216 is my home comcast assigned IP address that never seems to change. the IP address 209.92.71.43, is something else, I don't really know, I think ti's from my dedicated server company. that record was there by default when I first set up bostonbecker.com with PLESK. I left it there.. I also left hdns1.fast.net as the value for bostonbecker.com because I did not know what to do with it.
Ok... Now lets come to my new server inside my house with Mac OS X server
    Here are my settings:
Below are some basic checks I did in Terminal:
Here is the VPN settings panel:
    Below is the L2PT settings
    Below is the PTPP Setings:
Below is the iChat server settings:
Below is the router settings I'll change my IP address for security once I get this to work!
Below is a snap shot of the port forwarding on the D-link gaming router:

    Hello,
Why are you handing out 192.185.2.1 through 192.185.2.10 in your VPN Addresses
Should this 192.168.0.XXX through 192.168.0.XXX and out of range on what the router is handing out?
Why don't you try making your Server 192.168.0.2 using your router as the gateway of 192.168.0.1
Set your router's DHCP scope 192.168.0.10 through 192.168.0.100
Set your VPN addresses for L2TP 192.168.0.101 through 192.168.0.149
Set your VPN addresses for PPTP 192.168.0.150 through 192.168.0.199
    Thanks,

  • What's up with Mac Mail settings not porting and being so laborious?

i am wondering why at such a late date (Mountain Lion and iOS6) i am entering NINE (9!) entries for my email accounts on my iPhone and having to enter my email address for the new account THREE (3!) times - and then having to do this again for EIGHT (8) entries on both my laptop and my desktop.
i have had to do this again due to porting my website to a new host and - well - at a minimum it would be nice to get iOS 6 to only require me to enter my address ONE time (this means that for my ten email accounts on the iPhone i would cut down my entries from 90 to 70 which would be great).
then if there is some way to /port/ my email setting from my laptop to my desktop (assuming i am running the same OS on both) this would mean i would only have to enter an additional 80 entries instead of the 160 i have to do now.
am i missing some EXPORT utility in Mac Mail in Mountain Lion or - well - or is this software somehow not interested in making my life easier in 2013?
    THANKS

I tried the technique in that linked article with another account on my Mac. It works, but I think you'd be better off setting up the accounts. Here's what I needed to do (note changes with Mountain Lion).
Open you user/Library folder and copy the Mail folder to an external.
Open the containers folder and copy com.apple.mail folder to external (ML change)
On the destination Mac, select Get Info on each of the folders.
Unlock the padlock in the sharing and permissions section.
Click the Add button and add yourself. Set you to read/write.
Select you, then use the Gear menu to make you the owner.
Select any of the other users (except everyone) and delete them.
Copy the folders into you User/Library folder in the same locations they came from.
If you don't transfer the keychain, then you'll have to set the passwords for all the accounts, along with the SMTP server password, if set.
Your original plan I think was easier.

  • What are the ports required for the Audio, Video and A/V conferencing when the following end points are enabled for QoS in Lync 2013 server?

    Hi All,
What are the ports required for the Audio, Video and A/V conferencing when the following clients are enabled for QoS in Lync 2013 server?
    Client Type
Port range  and Protocol required for Audio
Port range and Protocol required for
    Video
Port range and Protocol required for
    A/Vconferencing
    Windows Desktop   Client
    Windows mobile App
    Iphone
    Ipad
    Andriod phone
    Andriod Tablet
    MAC desktop client
    Please advise. Many Thanks.

Out of the box, 1024-65535 for all of the client ports.  :)
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg398833.aspx
You'll want to tune your client ports a bit
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj204760.aspx as seen here, and then the client ports would use those ranges which is easier to set QoS markings.  I'm not sure the mobile clients respect that setting.
Elan's got the best writeup for Windows clients here:
    http://www.shudnow.net/2013/02/16/enabling-qos-for-lync-server-2013-and-various-clients-part-1/
However, the marking of the packets is the tricky part.  Windows can do it via Group Policy, but for the other clients you'll need to have the network specifically prioritize ports regardless of DSCP markings.  You have to do it based on ports
as the traffic could be peer to peer.

  • Email send/receive suddenly doesn't work ; can't change email settings as BB phone won't accept valid username and password -- what to do?

email send/receive suddenly doesn't work (as of September 24th); I can't change email settings (one suggestion from tech) as BB phone won't accept *valid* username and password -- what to do?
I understand from a support note that if I keep trying my password/username combination, my BB will eventually delete all data!
I can't understand this. I'm completely lost now. I can't remember what I've done or tried to do. A plethora of usernames and passwords is swimming in my head.
Thanks for any hints. I have always loved this BB Bold and have never had any trouble with it.

But the real question is why for the past year did the passwords work and then all of the sudden after this anomaly the disk password doesn't work?  I'm not 100% sure of what my configuration was, but I know that most of the time it required one password -- supervisor, and occasionally it asked for 2 -- disk password as well I believe.  This may have been related to the Password on Restart setting I think -- asking for the disk password on cold vs. warm boot.  But I know both were exactly the same.  But after this incident only the Supervisor password worked.

  • The email message cannot be sent. Make sure the outgoing email settings for the server are configured properly

i have an issue when loading a workflow. it gives me a following error "The email message cannot be sent. Make sure the outgoing email settings for the server are configured properly". it doesnt send me any alerts and worlflow fails at the end
    with the above error message.

    Hi,
I agree with Bistesh. But after Outgoing e-mail settings are configured properly, if the issue still exists,
It may result from your Anti-Virus. Please refer to the following steps:
Open MCAfee Console and go to Access Protection window.
Click Anti-Virus Standard Protection and edit “prevent mass mailing
    worms from sending emails” rule.
Now we need to know which processes are being blocked therefore we need to check the MCAfee Log located at
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\McAfee\DesktopProtection\AccessProtectionLog.txt
you may find entries of DtExec , DtExecUI and DatabaseMail90, now these processes need to be entered in the exclusion list of selected rule .
Reset the IIS And SharePoint Timer service to check if this works for you.

  • HT3228 I don't see the "Delete from server" option under Incoming Settings on my IPhone4, is there a way to keep it from the server so that I can check emails from multiple devices?.

I'm using IPhone 4 to check emails.  Is there a way on the IPhone to setup that the messages would still be on the server so that when I check on my laptops the messages are still there.  I can do this setup for multiple laptops but don't know how I can do it for the IPhone.
I got help and setup all the things they told me but the problem is that I did not see the "Delete from server" option under Incoming Settings on my IPhone 4 to select.  Is there anything else that I am missing?  Thanks

The default for IMAP is that it does NOT delete the email from the server when it pushes the email to a device.  Only if you tell a device to tell the server to delete the email, will it actually delete from the server.
