What is Status Reporting Component in SCCM 2012 R2?

Hello to all, I checked the following config. "Status Reporting Component Properties" for a primary site but didn't get its purpose. Its default config brings a server and client component status, that are concentraed in "All
Milestones" report . Where is this report stored and what is its purpose ? Well, anyway what is clearly the "Status Reporting Component Properties" goal?

It is used to monitor site components, if you choose to log the status, it would be written to event log.

Configuring Reporting services for SCCM 2012

Hi,
I just finish create SQL reporting services ( configure Database, report manager URL) in SQL 2008 R2 for SCCM 2012. When I open the Report option in SCCM console (Monitoring --> Report), no report listed there and then I try to add in Reporting service
point for it, but get an error message
"There is a problem connecting to the specific reporting server. Please check the connection and make sure SQL reporting service is running on the specified server"
I manually browse to http://sqlserver/reportserver or
http://sqlserver/reports , that is no any folder exist there (I assume when I configure reporting service it will automatic create a folder for it with all report inside?). Anyone can guide me on how to solve this issue?

I am new to SCCM 2012 group and i have knowledge on sccm2007. i want to discuss some issue what i have with SCCM2012 installtion. The issue is my machine got rebooted while installing sccm 2012 SP1.i have already installed all the prerequisites for SCCM2012.i
am installing sccm2012 on Hyper-V machine.
Please see my system configuration below:
DomainController(2008R2 server) : 512MB RAM, AD things and DNS ,DHCP has installed on it.
System center server(2008R2) : 1028MB RAM , Sql 2008 server installed on it.
i tried to install it many times but still i got the same issue.
Could anybody please help me with this ?

Query to get the Deployment Status of an application - SCCM 2012

Hi,
Do we have any query/report to get the detailed status report & machine name, user name of a deployment in sccm 2012 as in sccm 2007, instead of clicking on each deployment status to find the machine names and status details?

Site Status Error in Monitoring - SCCM 2012

Hi,
I am getting alerts under site status in SCCM 2012
Site System Status Summarizer still cannot access storage object "<server name>E$\SMS" on site system "\<server name>". The operating system reported error 3: The system cannot find the path specified.
The SMS folder its looking for is actually available in C: drive.

Perms to specific reports folder in sccm 2012

Have set up access to certain reports based on security settings in sccm so accounts in specific AD group can access certain sccm reports via ssrs reporting web site. Utilized the very useful information in the links below. I have a request for
the group to access the network folder reports, but that means I would have to give RUN REPORT perms to the SITE permission in the security role, as that is the only group that includes the network folder. I don't want to give them access to the
rest of the stuff it includes, such as client push, client status, replication traffic, etc., as that would just cause confusion among the customer base. I don't want to give them anymore than they need. I tried giving the group rights to the individual
reports in the network folder, but the problem is that since there is no access to the folder itself without doing the above, they can't get to the reports. I could give them rights to the folder via SSRS but then SCCM would just overwrite that 15 minutes
later. Does anyone have any suggestions on this one? Thanks. : )

I'm not concerned about giving them more rights, I'm concerned about giving them access to reports that they don't need access to, otherwise there would be widespread confusion and misunderstanding. This, in turn, would generate anxiety-based
calls to the support desks, that I would like to avoid. I'm not trying to hide anything from them, I just don't want to cause undue worry and confusion. Make sense?

How to determine linked reports of a SCCM 2012 Report

Hi,
My end objective is to get the SQL statement for a report - 'Deployment that target a computer'.
I can see SQL statements through Data sets in Report Builder. those SQL Statements are accepting few parameters from some linked report i believe. I want to determine the values of those linked parameters.
let me know how can we check what are the linked reports for a particular report in SCCM 2012

You could open a Report in Report Builder, right click on one of the field in the Report and click properties. There under Action you should see if the field is linked to another report.

Thin Client reporting issues since SCCM 2012 R2 CU3 upgrade.

Please forgive me, I'm a SCCM newbie. I'm having an issue with my Thin Clients reporting back to SCCM since I upgraded to 2012 R2 CU3.
The only pertinent thing I find in any log is "RegTask: Failed to get registration state. Error: 0x8009000b" "GetRegistrationState failed (0x8009000b)" in the ClientIDManagerStartup.log
If anybody has any tips, I would be more than appreciative.

I have not run into this before, but have you validated that your management point is healthy?

Whats the best method to deploy sccm 2012 client

Hello what is the best method to deploy SCCM 2012 client, is there a script that should be used as sometimes the client push fails. In particular pushing the client to server 03 /08/12 types.

Ultimately, the best method is whatever works for you. Every environment is different and has unique constraints and requirements. You first need to learn out each of the methods and what they do to be able to properly evaluate which will work best for you.
Kind of like mining for gold, who cares how you got it out of the ground, once you get it out, you're rich :-) But if you rely on someone else telling you what the best way was for their mine, you may not be doing it the best way for your mine thus you need
to geological surveys, exploration, trial and error, etc. In other words, you need to do some real grunt work.
Often, using multiple methods is best though because each has its pros and cons (yes, even my startup script -- thanks for the cheerleading Michael and Tim). But as mentioned, it all comes down to you learning about your environment and the different
methods available to make the best choice. If there was only one "best" way to do it, there wouldn't be multiple available and none of us would really be needed.

SCCM report data are missing inside report since Update SCCM 2012 to R2 Cu1

Hi All,
I encountered an issue regarding certains SCCM reports after migrating to SCCM R2 CU1.
After this upgrade, I've already encountered some issues on differents reports .. reports where we need to select a collection or patches or computers from a drop list (all theses drop list were empty).
I resolved these issues by adding the "read" security permission in the security role dedicated to our Support Team. (Read permission is now applied on Collections, Packages ect...)
This sort of report works well now.
But this same Team show me another issue where I did not find any resolution.
In the categorie called "Hardware - General", we have a report named "Computer information for a specific computer" where, as you know, we normally could find some informations regarding a computer.
In fact, the only informations which are visible through this report are the NetbiosName,Username, Domain User & computer and IP adress.
All others informations are not displayed.
If I use this report with a user who has admin rights in SCCM (which is not the fact with my support team of course) ...all informations are displayed normally.
It seems that it looks like the first read rights issue that I encountered at the beginning, but I did not find where could be the cause of this issue
Does anyone has already seen this sort of issue ?

In CM12R2 RBA is now enabled for report. So this tell me that you have NOT grant the support team access to the data and therefore this is normal.

GDI Error - Charts not visible in sccm 2012 reports

I'm trying to run some default out of box reports for my sccm 2012 environment and finding that the raw data in table format is being provided but if there's any charts that should be included in the report they're not showing up. In the SSRS logs I see
the error below:
reportrendering!ReportServer_0-245!7e88!04/30/2015-11:09:07:: e ERROR: Throwing Microsoft.ReportingServices.ReportProcessing.RenderingObjectModelException: , Microsoft.ReportingServices.ReportProcessing.RenderingObjectModelException: A generic error occurred
in GDI+. ---> System.Runtime.InteropServices.ExternalException: A generic error occurred in GDI+.
In researching this I found similar issues out there where Hotfix-KB2823372 resolved the issue but this now looks to only be available for Windows8 as I tried to download the Hotfix and run on my server to only receive a message advising it's not applicable.
Please advise if you've seen this error before and what you've done to resolve it.

There is a problem connectiong to the specified reporting Server SCCM 2012 SSRS

I'm Trying to install reporting services point SCCM 2012, I configured the
site system role without problems, but when I tried to configure the report options I get this error:
"There is a problem connectiong to the specified reporting, please check the conection and make sure SQL Reporting Service is running on the especified server. "
The reporting service is running on remote server, I'm using SQL SERVER 2008.
Two Questions:
1: Which is the cause of the error?
2: Which right permissions must have the reporting services point account?

Which version of SRS is installed? If 10.50.1600.1 you will need to get this updated to above 2500 level.

SCCM 2012 Reporting Only

Hello,
I'm looking for a way to only allow some users to use the reporting function of SCCM 2012. So far it seems as I grant permissions they get access to other parts of SCCM as well. Is there a way to configure their account to only view and run reports as need?
If so, could you please explain the process? Thanks!

I'm having some issues. I wanted to take screen shots but it won't allow me to paste on the forum. I'm a full administrator of SCCM. When I view my different reporting options I have 58 category of reports which there are more reports inside each category.
I followed the directions from the links provided but when my user goes to view the reports they do not see as much as I do. I don't know the exact amount of reports he can view but I think it's about 11. I'm not sure how to allow the rest of the reports to
be visible. I went down each security setting and if it had the option to "Run Report" and made sure it said "Yes". Any help is appreciated.
