we are using SWPM in replacement of Installation master in the version higher then Netweaver 7.0 SR3(SP14)..
Since , we cannot find the SAP Installation Master for our SAP Product based on SAP Netweaver 7.0 SR3 (SP14) or greater.
we would have to go with the SWPM-->
Advantages:-
The advantage of this is that we can now update the software provisioning manager and associated control files independently of the media release cycles.
For you, this means it is no longer required that you patch the Installation Master media with the latest SAPinst as you had to in the past nor do you have to update / modify the control files either as would often have been required prior to installation. In fact the Installation Master media have been retired for all releases as of SAP Netweaver 7.0 SR3.
The only requirement now is that you ensure that you always use the latest release of the software provisioning manager with respect to the Release, SP and Patch Level.
The software provisioning manager is available in two options.
SWPM*.SAR: For SAP Netweaver 7.30 or greater based SAP systems.
70SWPM*.SAR: For SAP Netweaver 7.0 SR3 or greater based SAP systems including all Enhancement Packages, such as SAP Solution Manager 7.1 which is based on SAP Netweaver 7.0 EHP 2.
In order to avoid confusion for you the customer we still refer to the software provisioning manager as SAPinst in documentation. The SAPinst command line switches have not been depreciated or modified in any manner such as the USE_VIRTUAL_HOSTNAME switch and in addition the software provisioning manger will refer to itself as SAPinst in all GUI screens that you encounter.

Running msiexec failed with return code 1619: getting this error
While running SOFTWARE PROVISIONING MGR 1.0 (for Windows Server on IA32 32bit ) for renaming (Domain name change) the SAP ECC 6.0 server on top of Windows Server 2003 x86 which is a 32 bit OS.
I am using the SAPCAR (for Windows Server on IA32 32bit ) to extract .SAR
can anyone please help me with this ?

Issue has been resolved, its a bug in SWPM tool.
Problem:
SAPCAR is extrating the "sapmmcx86u.msi" under the folder DBINDEP.
But while running the tool, system is trying to open "sapmmcx86u.msi" from the path "common\install" folder.
Solution:
After you received the error, copy path "sapmmcx86u.msi" to "common\install" folder and you will be good.

There are three ways to do this:
1) Install a server OS on the laptop. I tried this on an 8 gigabyte laptop and ran out of RAM for all of the things I wanted to do (SS, Calc Mgr, Essbase, EAS, APS, FDM, Financial Reporting, Planning, etc.).
2) Go to a VM solution, such as VMWare (I like VM Workstation, personally). Watch out for this on memory as 8 gigabytes isn't going to be enough. The Great and Good John G has recently published notes on how to set up 11.1.2.1's compact deployment mode. That might work in a laptop (yes, you wrote PC but nowadays that so often means laptop) -- I have yet to try it but have high hopes.
3) Go to the cloud. I personally prefer this as it is so easy and fast although you are paying a per-hour charge. Check out John Booth's blog: www.metavero.com for more details -- his blog links to mine for the instructions on how to launch that first EPM AMI.

did anybody know if they work with the zenworks image too?

I'm not aware of tools to convert ZENworks images to a different format, and given ZENworks images are file aware, I can't imagine it would be easy to convert them. The safest option remains to restore the image to a workstation and then take a new image using the "other" imaging tool.
Note that with a ZENworks imaging boot CD, you don't even need an imaging server. Having for example the ZENworks image on an external disk should be enough for manual image restore.

The easiest and cheapest way is to use HandBrake to convert your DVDs to H.264 that FCP X can use.
Download Handbrake free here http://handbrake.fr/downloads.php
Put your DVD in the Mac, launch HandBrake and let it rip your DVD to H.264
You can then import the files into FCP X.
Professional editors will be apoplectic about me recommending HandBrake but for what you are doing the quality will be fine.

I went into it and searched for imovie but couldn't find the basic imovie, which I presume is what I'd need for editing?, rather than imovie 11 for £10.49, which is for making trailers, it seems. I am putting together a proposal for a Final Cut Pro Workstation to use with a tapeless HD camera. Can anyone suggest the best camera (in the 5-10,000 dollar range) ? What hardware and software should I include in the package?

This is quite an open suggestion, but here are some ideas which might get you started. There are good HD cameras in your price range from Sony, Panasonic and Canon (and maybe other manufacturers). Tapeless formats vary. I have only worked with Sony XDCAM which seems pretty good to me. File sizes for material shot at 35MBS are not too huge and, with the free Sony transfer and conversion programme, are easy to bring into the computer via USB direct from the camera or from a fairly inexpensive converter. The Sony XDCAM EX3 can produce results well up to broadcast quality.
As to hardware, you'll need a powerful MAC - iMac, Macbook Pro or MacPro with 4GB or more of RAM and a good video card. Softwarewise, FCPX is quite a bit cheaper than FC Studio 3 and of course it's 64bit and can make better use of multi-core machines than FCP7. It's also designed to handle HD formats with less hassle than FCP7 and is matched to the latest versions of Motion and Compressor. But you'd probably be wise to search reviews of FCPX before you make your choice - it has some issues.
A good HD monitor will be essential and, for colour correction etc, you may want to consider a second monitor or HD TV foe editing. ( A MacPro is generally the best machine to connect a second monitor to).
This should give you a good editing system, but there are many other things you could add (Photoshop, professional sound monitors, etc)
