Hi What is sync now and how do you use it ? I am using Mountain Lion.

In the Apple world, sync generally means plugging your iPhone, iPad, and/or iPod into iTunes on your Mac. That will coordinate your music and possibly other material between your Apple devices.

Try:
Close iTunes, click the Start button > All Programs > iTunes folder > RIGHT CLICK iTunes Program icon > Select> Run as Administrator. -
What to do now when my iPad won't turn on after I turn it off. It shows only the apple logo. I am sure it has above 70% charge as when I sync my iPad it shows necessary detail in iTunes. I have tried, HOME & POWER button, but did not work.
First try a Reset ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least Ten seconds... (But can take Longer)... until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons
If no joy... Try a Restore...
1: Connect the device to Your computer and open iTunes.
2: If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane.

R.I.P. Sync Services, hello ...eh wait what to use now??

silently SyncServices have disappeared in OS X Lion. What kind of options to we have now to synchronize? I'm currently working on an application that makes use of contacts and keeps them in sync via sync services. Right now it still works, but as sync services have disappeared, it seems like it is not much future proof at all. After a few hours of searching around, I couldn't find anything related to it, so my questions is, what to do now? What options do we have to keep our applications in sync with contacts, safari bookmarks etc. ...Yeah, the writing has been on the wall for SyncServices for sometime. What I'm saying is, its not disappeared yet.
MobileMe calendar syncing switched from SyncServices to the open CalDAV protocol some time ago. Although MobileMe still uses SyncServices for contact syncing, I'm assuming that when MobileMe is finally switched off in June 2012, by then iCloud will be using (most likely) CardDAV for contact syncing. Presumably Safari Bookmarks will sync using one of the aforementioned iCloud APIs.

I have recently updated my iphone to 7.0.2, and i have also downloaded the latest itunes software but everytime i try to sync now, it tellms me to download th latest itunes software. What do i do?

I have no clue what you mean by "all the different methods." Here are my suggestions.
First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. -
All iPhone music suddenly shows as "other" - can't sync now as no room left
hi all,
i put my iPhone in its official apple combination iPhone & apple bluetooth headset dock to sync it. for some unknown god-forsaken reason, it then gave the warning that this is not a device designed to connect to the iPhone specifically, and asked if i wanted to go into airplane mode (??? - this has never happened before, and this is the official dock from apple for the iPhone and bluetooth headset). i clicked "no" (if there had a "HELLS NO!" i would've clicked that). this was syncing to a black macbook core 2 duo with leopard on it. now, after syncing, all my wonderful music and videos that were on the drive of my 8 GB iPhone now show as some unknown "other" and i can't access any of it — none of my songs, videos artists or playlists are showing as anything but blank, but the iPhone's 8 GB's are filled up completely with this "other" in the graph in iTunes of what is on my iPhone. i've tried re-syncing and haven't gotten the same error — it syncs all my contacts, calendars and mail ok, and i've gotten a couple of my podcasts on, but all my other music and video won't sync now as it shows this "other" is taking up the whole drive. who do i report this to? how do i fix it? please advise.I just got through fixing this ordeal

here is what you've got to do
1. sync the phone once before you start
2. make sure you sync contacts, bookmarks, mail and calendar with some source (everything under info tab)
3. click the restore button in iTunes on the iPhone's page
4. confirm all messages, this takes forever so just wait
5. the iphone will restart and iTunes will say what do you want to do with this new iphone
6. tell it restore to setting of your iPhone's name
7. this takes even longer than step 3 and 4
8. when it restores, the iPhone will turn off and back on and the bar will show that there is no data on it except for a few orange "other" files (the ones that are supposed to be there)
9. go through each of the tabs on the top of the iphone page and make sure music, videos, podcasts, pictures is selected to sync the way you want it and sync it
10. this will take forever more than step 7, it took me 40 minutes, but I have USB 1.0 so everything on this will probably be shorter for new (or just not old as dirt) computers
11. this should fix the problem, it didn't for me, when i went to iPod on the iPhone it suggested buying music from iTunes because I had none i just synced the phone one more time and all of the music appeared when i opened iPod (this takes as long as a regular ole sync)
there you have it your iPhone is good as new (except it didn't fix my broken screen:( )
i have heard that this problem is because of some glitch between iPhone 1.1.4 and Windows XP, but IDK

I have all my bookmarks sync'd via Xmarks, across computers. Now that Xmarks is being discontinued, I want to have my bookmarks sync'd via Firefox sync. So how do I make sure that once I install Firefox sync, I get all my bookmarks from Xmarks into Firefox sync. I assume I import, but it doesn't say anything about this in the info about Firefox sync. Before I install, I want to know what measures to take with the bookmarks from Xmarks. Thanks for taking the time to answer this, I am sure, simplistic question.
As with Xmarks, Firefox Sync will import the bookmarks on your local computer. The bookmarks on your computer should be up to date and include any changes that are on the Xmarks servers. There is no need for Firefox Sync to import the data from the Xmarks server, it just needs to import the bookmarks on your computer.

I just loaded Firefox onto my laptop. I set up the the sync add on and had no errors. When I hit sync now I get "Sync encountered an error while syncing: Firefox sync server maintenance is underway, syncing will resume automatically." I have gotten this message for the last 10 hours. Should I wait or is there an issue with my setup? I checked the Mozilla sync server status and it listed no issues.

How do I manually manage what to sync? iOS7-iTunes 11.1.1
Hi -
I purchased an audio book using my MBPro (running 10.8.5).
Now I want to move it to my iPhone5 (iOS 7.0.2).
So I open iTunes (11.1.1), plug in my iPhone and wait for the sync interface to show so I can manually select what songs, photos, audiobooks I want to the iPhone - but that interface is not to be found!
The only place I could find the word "iPhone" any where on the iTunes skin was the eject button.
The only menu items was under File/Devices where I got to choose "sync iPhone" - but that's it. No choices, no selections.
Itunes proceeded to back up the iPhone and "sync" but I had no chance to make any changes. I really dont know how much stuff got moved around.
I do know the new audiobook did not get moved to the iPhone.
What am I missing? Is there a new button somewhere that I didn't see?
Wnat is the proceedure for manually deciding what to sync FROM the Mac TO the iPhone??

Once your iPhone starts its sync, do you see a small button showing your iPhone here?

Syncing does not do this. What was really done?

Email syncs now say "Updated Mar 30", the day I upgraded to Lollipop 5.0. Two days later it is still saying Mar 30. The notification should read the date and time you updated email receiving. Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a solution to this?
We want to make sure your phone is in working order Mb_in_NC. I know it can be difficult when you see different times. What is your make/model of your device? When did it start? Do you have a different time on any other applications?

OVI Sync now available for N85 and N79!
Atlast, after months of wait, OVI sync now supports N85 and N79 officially!
Just installed the settings and synced with the servers.
Although, to switch to OVI sync profile in the sync app on your phone, you might have to change the active sync profile from the Sync Menu.Unfortunately I can confirm what others are reporting about the loss of data when attempting to OVI sync the N85 (and other models, it would seem) .
What happened to me on my N85 was that every attempt to OVI sync eventually fails with a no response from server (according to the phone log). Browsing the phonebook in the phone I see that some seemingly random picked entries have had all numbers removed.
Strangely, all the entries and numbers have actually been succesfully copied into my OVI account (despite the sync errors). Calendar entried never made it, though.
So now I'm rather stuck: my OVI backup is now my only good phonebook copy, but I'm too scared of the broken OVI sync feature to try to restore it back to my phone.
Sorry, Nokia - I think you went public with this OVI sync thing a wee bit too early. It will be an awesome feature when it's ready, though!

I Have unlocked my iphone 4 and am refitting to a friend , I received the congratulations message, do I have to setup and sync now or can I leave phone as is so they can set up as they wish? Thank you for any help!! Greatly appreciated

Nothing happens when I click on 'Sync Now'
I tried to do a sync. It didn't copy bookmarks onto other computer. Now on host computer nothing happens when I click on 'Sync Now' to redo the sync.
It looks as if Sync was already set up. what you can do is go Tools, the options, then into the sync tab. See if an account is already connected to the computer or not.
