What is system document?

Hi Sir/Madam,
What does "System Document" mean? It is said "In the procedure recommended by SAP, always store the original documents under the number of the system document?
What is the system document and what is original document?
Thanks
Satya

Dear,
For e.g.
You have recieved an invoice from your vendor. So physical invoice is the Original Document.
When you post the invoice through MIRO or F-43 system will save the document and give you the document number is call System document
So SAP recommends that you write this System document number on the phisical invoice (original document) so that it can be identified that this has been posted and in any point of time in future it can be analyzed easily.....Because all commercial documents and invoices are filed and thrown on to the racks.

  • What is FI documents used for? Why needed in SD?

    Hi,
Do you know what exactly the 'FI Document' means as mentioned in below:
"In the Order to Cash Cycle, Invoicing is the last step. A Customer Order has to be Invoiced to receive money from the Customer. Therefore, it necessitates that a FI Document be created along with the Billing Document (Invoice) in SD."
Why we need FI document since there has billing document already..??!! And what is FI documents..How to check in the system..
    Thank you very much!

    Dear Laa,
When ever sales value will be posted to the accounting the FI document will generated for the respective transaction.
In the fallowing areas FI documents will be generated in Sales and Distribution.
-->When we do the PGI in the delivery document FI document will created for Cost of goods sold.
--> When we generate invoice the invoice will be posted to accounting here also accounting document will get generated.
How to see the FI document :-
-->Go to VL02N transaction enter delivery document number then click on document flow Icon sytem will take you to the document flow screen here you dobule click on Post goods isuue now system will take you to next screen here you can find accounting document.
-->Go to VF02 transaction enter in to your billing document after entering in to it there is Accouinting  push button click on it now system will take you to the accounting document screen.
Or Click on Document flow Icon system will take you to document flow details screen here you can find acounting document.
I hope it will help you,

  • Internet Sales - Error in R/3 system: document cannot be sent.

    Hi!
Whenever I need to place a new order on the B2B application of Intenet Sales, I get this error message right at the end. I can see the order, the prices, totals, etc. But when I click on "To Order" I get this error and all prices go to 0.00 and so.
I have no exceptions marked on the J2EE logs, and the only error I can see is right on the jsp page and states:
Error in R/3 system: document cannot be sent. Call our hotline.
BUT, when I try to place an order with an order template, then I click on "to order" and everything goes OK, order is placed in R/3.
So, im lost on this. Any help will be much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance!

The problem is originated because in shopadmin tab “order”, there are two fields related order type: Order type from SAP R/3 & Order Type (next to delivery block field). The first one is the sales order type that is goanna be generated when a sales order is created. The second field is “purchase order type” related to the way in which the sales document arrives from the customer (Telephone, for example). Both of them must be valid, fist one in Sales order type, transaction VOV6 and second one in program SAPLSVIM
The problem is that no matter what kind error you have in ISA R/3 Edition, the user will receive the same error message “Error in R/3 system: document cannot be sent. Call our hotline”, so you have to switch the backend logs on to write the real SAP error message

  • What is system period.

    hi guys,
i am trying to select data from BSIS table and before doing that i need to validate a condition.
condition: if system period = posting period/year. can you guys explain me what's system period i have to use.
    cheers,
    harish

system period : Month on Which Accounting Document Was Entered. Specifies the month on which the accounting document is entered.
The posting date can differ from the entry date (date of entry in the system) and the document date.
system date is the actual time/date/period/year when a transaction taken place in the sysrem.
    System date = Entry Date.
Pls apply the concept to sys period.
    regards

My apologies, I read your post the wrong way. I see now that the original poster was confused about the specs and you were simply responding with the appropriate info.
I've gotten defensive after reading the forums. The forums are full of posters just looking to prove someone wrong or stupid, rather than being helpful. I shouldn't have assumed you were one of those people. Sorry.
I did my homework and discovered that my PowerPC will run Leopard. It can be purchased for $129 by calling 1-800-MY-APPLE. This is much cheaper than replacing my laptop.
I hope to upgrade my Mac soon, though! Can't believe this thing is still ticking. I love Apple.

If you are running 10.6.8 you can download 10.9 from the App Store and install it with going through 10.7 and 10.8 first. 10.9 Mavericks is a free download in the App Store.
10.9 Mavericks will require at least 2gb of RAM but really needs 4gb to run smoothly.
As for third party programs see this list for compatibility with 10.9 http://roaringapps.com/apps:table
Also Mavericks doesn't run any Power PC programs. To see if you have any Power PC programs go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info. When System Profiler comes up select Applications under Software. Then look under Kind to see if any of your applications are listed as Power PC. Universal and Intel will run under Mavericks.
Before Mac switched to Intel processors in 2006 they used Power PC processors from 1994 to 2005. Power PC 601 through 604, G3, G4 and G5. Applications written for the Power PC processors need the application called Rosetta to run on Intel processors. This was part of the Operating System in 10.4 and 10.5 but was an optional install in 10.6. With 10.7 Lion Apple dropped all support for Power PC applications.

How do I find what operating system I am using on my MacBook?

  • What is a "document" in Spotlight?

I was searching for an old Word document from the Finder and could not locate it. I found the file by date and went back to figure out why I didn't find it the first time. I had put keywords in the search field and added Kind as Document. If I turn that off, it finds the document. With it on, it does not locate it. What is a Document to Spotlight? How else would you specify Word documents if not as Document?

Apple's definition of a Document in Spotlight is about the most useless thing ever. I don't use it. Technically, "Document" is defined in a search by the Raw Query of "kMDItemContentTypeTree = public.content"--which includes dang near every sort of file--except, evidently, your Word documents (my MSWord docs, created in the Office 2004 version of Word, are included in the Document definition).
If I were trying to get only MS Word documents, I would use "Kind is Other" and type Word into the blank field. That will cover Word docs created in my version of MS Office, whose kind is defined as "Microsoft Word Document" in their metadata, and will also bring up Word documents going all the way back to Word 97, whose kind is defined as "Word 97 Format (.doc)" in their metadata. I don't have the more recent version of MS Word, but you can check one of your files with GetInfo and see what it says for Kind.

  • What is Report Document Format?

    Hi,
I have seen "Report Document Format" in many Oracle Report Developer's job adverts. Following is an example.
"Skills & Experience Required, Oracle Reports Developer - expert level, Report Document Format (RDF) - must have extensive knowledge in this area. Java Development, Working with Oracle Databases and good Communication Skills."
My question is what is "Report Document Format"? I hope it is different from RDF (Report Definition File).
    Thanks.
