What is taking Photos space on iPad ???

iTunes shows that 2.9 GB of space is being used for photos on my iPad (see image).  However, I do not sync any photos to my iPad, and there are no photos in Camera Roll.  Does anyone know what is consuming this space and how to free it up?

Have been taking photos with my Ipad and sending them to email address and FB.  For some reason it will now send photos to FB but not my email address.  What could be the problem?

Does your email provider have a limit on the total file size allowed on their server? It could be that emails with photos send in the past are still on your email server. They might even be in the servers trash folder. If the total MB of those emails exceeds the amount allowed then no additional emails can be received. Try using a web mail page to check and edit what's on the email server.

  • How do I tell what is taking up space on my iPad?

Is there a way to see what apps/files are using what amount of memory on my iPad 2?  I have a fair amount of apps, but downloaded a iTunes movie rental and am now at capacity.  Wondering if the movie was the "straw that broke the camel's back" or if I was approaching capacity before the download.

You can view some measure of detail in iTunes while the iPad is connected to the computer.  Certainly the movie can be the final straw.  Movies take a bundle.

  • What's taking up space on my 5th Gen iPod?

Trying to add files to my iPod and I'm getting the message that the disk space is full.
Seems 7.32 GB is dedicated to 'OTHER'. Any ideas how I find out what is taking up that space?

Other is usually calendar, contacts, album art, etc. Sometimes things go awry in the database/index and Other shows much more than it should. Restore your iPod in iTunes and Resync and it should clear it.

  • How can I tell what is taking up space on my HD

I am a PC switcher. Even though it has been over a year it is still new to me. I noticed today that my hard drive only has 8.5 gig left on it. I find that hard to beleive. Neverthless, how can I find out what is taking up the bulk of my space? Is there a utility or something?
Also, I know I have some movies, in my ituns. Can I put the movies on my external and keep the music on my HD?

Basically, the DMGs if any are just a shot in the dark. I store stuff on my Mac as .dmg files, it's just a disk image. But unless you use the sparse method you 'might' end up creating a DVD image with only a few files on. So you have 4.38GB which is as far as the finder is concerned is accounted for even if it's unused.
We need to see where the space is being taken up. Open finder window and have it so your home folder and its contents are open. You can do a get info on each, (select and press command-I) or use the inspector which I find better when browsing. Select say your desktop, then press and hold Command and Option?Alt and then press I.
    At the moment my home folder is;
    Desktop 6.4Mb
    Docs 376 KB
    Downloads 58.6MB
    Library 139 MB
    Movies 160KB
    Music 3.8MB
    Pictures 306.9MB
    Public 0KB
    Sites 40KB.
Now my music and important data are on a separate internal drive so that if I have to take the Mac in for repairs or do a complete erase and reinstall of the OS then the data is untouched.
Also, shutdown and restart. then once started up open Activity Monitor and see if anything has eaten drive space that you use or whether its hidden activity.
Anything not look right to you on yours?

  • What's taking up all my ipad storage

I've got a 16gb ipad 2, I've got no photos, videos or movies on it but I'm apparently using up 13.5gb.  How?  Checked my apps and although I have a few none they don't take up more than 1-2gb. Tried resetting etc but still no luck, this surely cant be right, any help appreciated

If you connect your iPad to iTunes, you will see exactly what each item is using in  a multi-colored bar along the bottom of the page. It'll show music, video, photos, apps, books, and other (which is the operating system, I believe).
Some Apps, even if they appear small, may then download more data once you enter the game.

  • What is taking up iCloud space?

I know this has been asked many times and I've read as much as I can on iCloud space, but I still can't figure out what's taking up space.
My iPhione has plenty of space. Capacity of 57GB with 30GB available. iCloud is showing a total storage of 25GB with only 4.2GB available.
On my phone when I go to iCloud and then manage storage, it's showing the following:
    iPhone 14.3GB
    iPad 5.6GB
    iPad Mini 860MB
So then when I click on iPhone, the first item (of course) is the camera roll, which is showing 4.3GB.   When I click to show all apps, they all have very little space.   Adding them all up, it is no where near the 14.3GB it's indicating.
I know I'm stupid and missing something.  And all the articles I've read are not helping.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Do you have lots of photos and videos in your text messages?  Those are included in the backup and this is not listed in settings because you don't have the option to exclude them.

  • Don't see the green rectangle when taking photo, 2. How can I set up viber on my iPad

1.When taking photo with this iPad, I don't see the green rectangle. My friend told me that in order to take a clear picture, you need to see the green rectangle. When I take a picture of myself, then I see it. Why is that?
    2. How can you set up Viber? Does Viber can make long distance call back to US when I am out of the country? For example: if I am in Hong Kong, I want to make a call back home to a US phone #, is there any charge. What about SMS? The people I call or SMS have to be on Viber also?
How can I see your response? Are you going to email me? My email address is [email protected]
    Thanks,
    Christine

Have you checked Skype's website regarding the ability to do this with their iPad app?

  • How do i find out what is taking up all  of my gb on my iphone 4

I do i find out what is taking up all of my gb on my iphone 4? I have deleated all of my pictures, music, and games. There is nothing left in the usuage column to deleate but it says i have used 3.8. Where is it hiding?

What is using 3.8GB of space?
If looking at the summary tab in iTunes, what specifically is taking up space?
If looking in Settings > General > About on the device, what specifically is taking up space?
You have the device in front of you, so you can determine what is taking up space.  We only have the information provided by the user to go on.

  • Photos on my iPad 3 are taking up space without any photos on it

Photos on my iPad 3 are taking up space without any photos on it. Photo Stream has been off for months, I deleted every photo on it and it still says I have 735 megs of photos. Anyone know what to do? iPad 3, Wifi, iOS 6.1.2

Follow this closely if you really want to sync with computer. Otherwise you may lose all your data.

I should have said in my previous message that the iphoto program I am using is for an ipad 2.  I simply want to know how to delete an edited album which contains one photo that I do not want taking up space.

OK....I'm stumped.  The message you are seeing is typically there to protect someone from syncing with a different computer/iTunes account.  Is there any way anyone else has used your iPad and possibly connected it to their computer?

  • What has happpened to the rental videos that they don't get removed automatically any longer? Are they taking up space on my iPad??

Why are old rental video's not being removed from my iPad once viewed? Are they taking up space on my iPad?

I wish that I had an answer for you, but I can't think of anything else to try. What I find so odd is that it happens to all 3 of your devices. That doesn't make sense at all unless it has something to do with how iTunes handles what is happening on the iPad when you sync your devices.
I update my iPhone 5S and my iPad 3 last night and then synced both devices with iTunes. When I plugged them into my MBP - they both showed an overcapacity it's due to "other". "Other" includes app data caches and when it grows out of proportion like that it means that something got corrupted. I synced the devices anyway, and the "other" dropped dramatically back to where it was on each device before I updated and where it should be.
What I'm trying to say is something may be getting corrupted when you sync with iTunes...what it is I have no clue.

  • How do I find out what's using up space on my iPad?

Hi, I have a 16GB iPad and when I go to Settings>General>Usage it says that I have used 13.2GB. However, when I add up the apps it lists below that they only add up to 300MB. I'm confused as to what's happened to the rest of my space? I have 6 (small) apps, I get my emails through my iPad, I have a one hour video I took and about 20 photos. Other than that there's nothing on the iPad (that I know of!). It's a bit of a problem as I want to download the 4OD app but it won't let me do that until I download the new ioS7 software but I can't do that as it says I need 4.1gb available storage which I don't have! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    Hi applegirl5!
I have an article for you here that can help you understand the storage capacity reporting on your iOS device:
iPhone, iPad, and iPod: Understanding capacity
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1867
This will help you identify what on your iPad is taking up space so that you can address the larger files in your iPad. You may also want to think about importing your pictures and videos to your computer and deleting them off of your iPad:
iOS: Importing personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer
