What is that file?
Publishing to a folder from iWeb '09 produces an extra file - assets.file/--localhost-Users-roddymckay-Desktop-.plist
Opening this I find a bunch of gibberish that may mean something to the aliens who understand code!
iWeb '09 has, so far, been a big disappointment to me.
Could it be that this file is some thing new and exciting that will turn my despair into ecstasy?
I know that it is some sort of .plist because I opened it.
When you publish to a folder, which I always do, previous versions produced the index.html and the web folder.
In iWeb '09 you get this extra file.
I'm just curious to know what this is and what use I am supposed to put these assets to.
I suspect it may be something to do with iWeb's disastrous attempt at FTP and it just happens to get spat out with the files that I actually want.
The iWeb developers are not known for rigorous testing as has been proven by their previous disasters.
I really don't know why they have stopped seed testing as they don't seem to able to do it themselves.
They must have some concept in mind but it doesn't seem to what the actual users want as they have incorporated none of the most requested features that I have seem mentioned in the iWeb '08 forum.

I can no longer import pictures to my ibook (OSX version 10.6.8) using iphoto 09 version 8.1.2 and now get message that file is in an unrecognizable format. What is wrong? Same camera as before.

As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there? -

What is the name of the file I need to resync back to what I had before I reinstalled Windows7/Itunes?
I don't want to lose all of my apps. iTunes does see the phone but either has miscalcuated and told me I'm over
the size of my allocated sizes for music/apps, but when I uncheck, it still won't sync.
Best way, I assume is to go back to the last backup. So help me out here, what are the file (s) I need and
where are they best stored? I have all my music now on my J drive, not my C drive.
Can anyone help me?

SueI backed up to the iCloud and to my computer. Only thing I seem to be missing is a couple playlists. I just didn't want to lose my paid apps.
So what I see in my music folder and then another folder called iTunes and then files like iTunes Library, iTunes Library extras, iTunes Music Library aren't anything that is a back up, I take it, since you said the back up would be under programs? If this statement is true, now I "get" it!
And just to be clear, in iTunes, in my apps, there are all the apps I have gotten for free or paid for. But the problem there was that the Sync was grayed out and if I check it, everything goes crazy with saying I don't have enough room. I unchecked the music folder, and still had problems.
Oh, I hate this part of the iPhone stuff! -
I just downloaded I Tunes to my new computer. I had I Tunes on old computer. When I clicked on the icon on desktop I received the following pop-up.

Photoshop CS4 - When I pullled up a file, JPEG logo someone sent to me, the screen has cross thin green lines over it. What is that? How do I remove it?
JPEG files are not layered files they are just image files so the green lines are a part of that file.
Usually cross lines are added to prevent anyone from using the file without proper rights, its a way of safeguarding the artwork.
You have to ask the owner of the file to remove the lines for you.

Most of the music that I purchased on I Tunes I bought and downloaded on my old I Mac which I replaced with this I Mac about 9 months ago. When I"m using I Movie on this I Mac and try to open I Tunes tab in I Movie, most of the files are not accessible because I Movie says those fields are protected. What does that mean and can I change those files to unprotected so they show up in my music in IMovie?

Make sure to keep both .exe and .7z file in same folder. Then try to Run .exe file. If you are still getting any error message you may try to open .7z file using any zip extractor tool and try to install. Also make sure that the files are downloaded completely. -

That folder with the question mark icon means that the MacBook can't find the boot directory. That can either mean it can't find the hard drive or the Operating System data on the hard drive is somehow corrupted.
With 10.4, 10.5 or 10.6 put your install DVD into the optical drive (CD/DVD drive) and reboot. Be sure to either use the disc that came with your Mac, or, if you installed a later Mac OS X version from disc, use the newer disc. As soon as you hear the boot chime, hold down the "c" key on your keyboard (or the Option Key until the Install Disk shows up) until the apple shows up. That will force your MacBook to boot from the install DVD in the optical drive.
Or if you are running 10.7 Lion, 10.8 Mountain Lion or 10.9 Mavericks, boot from the recovery partition (Command +R on boot) and use Disk Utility to repair your OS 10.7 or 10.8 partition.
When it does start up, you'll see a panel asking you to choose your language. Choose your language and press the Return key on your keyboard once. It will then present you with an Installation window. Completely ignore this window and click on Utilities in the top menu and scroll down to Disk Utility and click it. When it comes up is your Hard Drive in the list on the left?
If it is, then click on the Mac OS partition of your hard drive in the left hand list. Then select the First Aid Tab and run Repair Disk. The Repair Disk button won't be available until you've clicked on the Mac OS partition on your hard drive. If that repairs any problems run it again until the green OK appears and then run Repair Permissions. After repairing use Startup Disk from the same menu to choose your hard drive for restarting from your hard drive.
If your hard drive isn’t recognized in Disk Utility then your hard drive is probably dead. -
What is the file or registry in mozilla app that gets launch to create the APPData\Roaming\Mozilla
I do like to know what is the file that triggers when you launch the Mozilla Firefox for the first time to create the folder under AppData either Local or Roaming because i want to change it to a different name since i want to have 2 versions of mozilla in the same computer and the old version i want it to customize for my company web application only.
I have open all the files with extension *.JS but none of them have the parameter to create the folder I have also look into every INI file inside mozilla firefox application but no info was found as well.
I have use the ORCA MSI editor to reveal the registry keys but I am not sure since many of them leads to the Mozilla folder but none to the Appdata either Roaming or Local.
Please let me know if you have some hints or files that i need to edit to modify that name to perhaps MOZ2015

So once mozilla is installed you look under AppData either local or roaming there is no MOZILLA folder there but once you launch mozilla a forlder gets created there (( I want to know where does the system pick the name MOZILLA )) for the screen shot it seems like it looks inside the firefox program files but it is not clear what file gets read to create the folder))

Thanks.I was able to resolve this by repairing permissions, even though no permissions error was listed specifically for that file.
I could also have recovered it through Time Machine, but I'm interested in knowing how not to have this happen again!
I was afraid of rebooting and possibly losing track even of the ghost.
I did not try EasyFind - I'll keep that in mind next time.
