What IS that little clock/pie chart icon?

i have searched and found two responses to this question. in the first, the response had nothing to do with the question and the second i didn't understand. so i am still prickly with curiousity...what IS the icon that appears when checking mail that appears for a fleeting moment to the right of the various mailbox icons? it is not the "offline" (~) icon, it is more a pie chart showing the progress of something or other. but what?
help me Obi-Wan, you're my only hope.

It's pretty much a progress icon, something like the "spinning beach ball" of OS X, showing that mail is busy, and how close to being done it is.
If it sits there a while, you either have a slow connection, a bunch of emails, or your email system is being slow - like my school account @_@.
Nothing to worry about,

on the right side of the macbook pro has a Cd/Dvd drive and a little dot. a whole actually. what is that for?

It is bigger than a dot, true, but on my MBP (2011) it's on the right-hand side next to the optical drive, and I have no tiny dot for ejecting the drive with a paperclip!  Mine looks like this:

  • What is that little star next to a ref camera name in the camera menu?

I noticed while working on a 3D project that, for my particular project, there was a * next to the name (top*, front*) of two of the reference cameras when they were selected for viewing. I looked in the doc's and tried changing certain things but it is not clear what exactly that * is indicating. Anybody have a clue?

Just figured it out. It means that there was a rotation applied in that view. If I double click on the view rotation icon in the upper right it resets it to zero and the * goes away.

  • What's that little number in the red circle in the iCal dock logo?

That little number repeats or totals in blue circles in my individual calendars' titles, as though it needs to be read or cleared or completed or something.

    wegreffi44,
The number indicates that you have been invited to an iCal event.
iCal>View>Show Notifications will allow you to accept or decline the invitation. (You can also click on the third icon from the left at the bottom of the iCal window to reveal Notifications)

    Hi ApolloSerenus,
You are probably referring to the location bar history. If you click on that button, a list of websites should appear. [[Clearing Location bar history|This article]] will give you information on clearing the history.
You should also look at [[Location bar autocomplete]] for other cool things you can do with the Location Bar.
    Hopefully this helps!

  • Little clock icon to right of Inbox

What is that little clock icon to the right of the Inbox? I'm having trouble with my mail - some messages of the past day keep re-appearing. One of them was a "can't deliver" from my server, and I can't even open it. This is a POP account. I think the little icon and these problems are related.

A little (~) icon to the right of a mailbox indicates that the account is Offline. If the Inbox has the icon, it means there is at least one account in the Offline state. Choose Mailbox > Go Online or click the (~) icon to bring the accounts Online again. There is also a button you can put in the toolbar for this. Search for offline in Mail Help for more info on this.

That means that you have an event invitation. Click on the envelope icon in the bottom left corner of the iCal window to display the invitation and choose what to do with it.

  • Histogram works, Pie Chart doesn't :(

I have a simple form, which has 1 block, a block level "when-new-block-instance" trigger and 2 bean_area under the block (beans don't have any trigger code). This simple form is called from within another form when a button is pressed. The histogram (bar chart) works, but the simple pie chart doesn't work (only displays a single circle - not the slices on the pie). The related trigger code is below. Can anybody see what is wrong with the pie chart code ?

This uses the FormsGraph.jar file implementation as you can see. I know Frank Nimphius is the only expert when it comes to FormsGraph.jar at Oracle, but currently he is on vacation - so no official support to an unofficial (unsupported) charting implementation - but I thought there might be others who have done this before.
Can someone who implemented a pie chart share his/her code here - a simple pie chart, nothing fancy (like the one that comes with the graph90.fmb file, which I followed but did not figure out why my implementation is not working). Something with the vData string or number of vData strings requirement? no explanation in the FormsGraph.jar doc and I am not a java programmer to figure it out from the java source code. I am looking for a simple trigger code for the pie chart - not like "look at the forms90.fmb that comes with the demo package" kinda answer.
    Thanx

  • How to drill or navigate to specific records from a pie chart

    Hi,
I have created a report that has a Pie chart view in it. What i want is that when i click on the chart it should navigate me to the specific records. E.g. I have a chart that shows %age of satisfied customers and %age of Not Satisfied Customers, what we are looking for is that when I click on satisfied customers's area, it should take me the satisfied customers records ony and same goes for Not Satisfied Customers.
Can anyone help ?? I have tried the drilling option under charts properties, but that doesnt seem to be working.
    Thanks
    Ahmed

    Hi Martin,
I haven't tried it, but can't you use a filter? Drag out a line from the data source and choose "filter" or drag a filter from the compose panel to the story board. Place the filter between data source and chart.
Change the filter properties so that the specific value is filteres.
    Best Regards, Benni
