What is that slot for?

OK at the risk of sounding like a real noob, I'm just gona go ahead & ask...
What is that 3rd big slot on the right side of the MBA for? You have the mini-DVI, followed by a USB slot & then there is this unmarked "kinda like for SD" slot.
TIA

  • SRM table CFF_CONT question : huge table, what is that table for ?

    Hello
    We are looking to have more details about table CFF_CONT on a SRM system
    The tolat size of DB is 344 GB
    and only for table CFF_CONT we do have 284 GB, compared to total size this is really huge
    the rest of the DB is only about 60 GB
    What is that table for ?
    Would it be normal to see that table on SRM growing much more than the others ?
    Is that table something that can be clean up ?
    Those questions are poping up becasue we are doing a system copy with sapisnt and R3load
    and we see that this table only is requiring a so huge amount of thime to be exported
    Regards

    By the way ...
    That CFF_CONT table belongs to cFolder components

  • A:; is valid, but what does that stand for?

    hi guys,
    just wonder why when doing this:
    public static void main(String args[])
                a:;
    }the a:; is valid, no compile/runtime error. what does that stand for?

    It can be used to exit a deeply nested loop structure:public class Loop {
      public static void main(String [] args) {
        outer: for (int i = 0; i < 100; ++i) {
          for (int j = 0; j < 100; ++j) {
            for (int k = 0; k < 100; ++k) {
              for (int l = 0; l < 100; ++l) {
                for (int m = 0; m < 100; ++m) {
                  if (m > 42) {
                    break outer;
                  System.out.println(i + " " + j + " " + k + " " + l + " " + m);
    }(Although yawmark's use is much more entertaining)

  • On my mini ipad, I cleared the cookies/histories in the safari setting.  But what does the advance-setting of the clearing the website data does?  What's that used for? Thank you!

    On my mini ipad, when I'm on the internet -- a few times I will see a blue small pop-up boxes telling me to allow down/load or add something like the bubble-splash game or something similar.  I jusr click ignore and it goes away.. I'm not sure why it's showing up lately.. I'm not sure if it's a virus or hacked in or a web brower matter..
    Should I go to the cookies/histories in the safari setting and have it cleared out?  Will that help resolve that??
    And what does the advance-setting of the clearing the website data does?  Sorry, I'm not familiar.. what's is that used for? Should I use that feature as well?? Thank you!

    This indicates corrupt files.
    A restore should resolve.

  • Why is the core service "mapspushd" contacting various (web)adresses? What's that service for?

    Hello,
    my firewall notified me that the core service "mapspushd" is occasionally contacting various (web)servers for example of various "news" sites (all over the world with varying TLDs, .co.uk, .ca, .com etc.), as well as service sites, such as ebay or advertising providers? – Got to be honest that is a bit dubious.
    What is this core service for?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi, i'm going to post my screenshots here too. Hope someone help us!
    Edit: By the way, running a google search about "an tacoda net" , gives back all sorts of wonderful info about it. I really hope apple has nothing to do with such malware.
    I have ran adware medic, and followed all security guides. I have no harmfull extensions, and nothing i can possibly think that can harm my mac.

  • What was that trick for getting songs from Ipod to library??

    Hi, a long time ago (like 4 months), I asked if there was anyway for me to to transfer songs from my ipod to my library. Some person (sorry I forgot your name, it was 4 months ago) posted a way to do it without a program. I printed it out but lost it. The only thing I remember about the trick was that it involved connecting the ipod to the comp and opening up the ipod options so that when you saved the music files the computer would be preoccupied with the options window or something to that effect. Thanks for the help.

    Well, when I first got my iPod, I brought it to a couple of my friends and they hooked it up to their itunes and gave me about 3-400 songs. So when I brought it back to my house I needed a way to get the songs from my iPod to my library. Now I have a new computer that I am bringing to college, so I want to put all 800 something songs on my new computer's itunes library. Thanks for the help, I'm goignt to try it right now.

  • What's the slot under the battery

    Just received my new T400 yesterday, and was very excited about it.
    have one question here.  I noticed a place where the battery seven mental pins touch the laptop, under that place, there is a small plastic film with a board card with size similar to a micro-sd card. It has a figure also looks like a SD card (rectange with one corner cut). If I pull the plastic film, the card can also be pulled out, but the film stays in.
    I can not find this anywhere in the manual. What is that slot suppose to do? I assume it's not the SD card reader, since it's on the left side of the laptop, not hide under where the battery fit in.
    Thanks.

    How can I check if I have this service on my laptop or not?

    You might try talking to the Apple store manager and see if you don't get more help...you might also contact Apple.com/support and see if they can give you a contact with the Apple Italy offices.
    Sounds like you have two levels of failure, the first shop that did the repair and broke a wire, and the second that has disabled something else and isn't helping.
    Apple officially refurbished equipment is usually good quality.  Surprising this has happened but you need to press on with complaints and try for resolution.

  • Ideapad S10-3 / 3t - What's the SIM slot for?

    Hello!
    I ordered my 3t, but it hasn't arrived yet.  I saw an unboxing video that shows a SIM card slot under the battery.  Since I can't find any place that customizes for 3G or anything else....I can't find what the slot is for?  Obviously a SIM card, but is there a modem already in these models or is there a card to purchase for 3G support?  I see an antenna plug on the side...any ideas on that either?
    DAVE

    Hi and welcome...
    When open the bottom lid ... there should be an empty place for minipci-e card, thats the place for upgrade..could be one of these S10-3t possible 3G card , (driver for those cards online at driver section) if there is an antenna pre-factory installed and a simcard-reader (not only a dummy hole) , but i think if there is a pre-factory antenna open end plug , 99,9% there is a simcard-reader too..

    I have one apple ID for multiple devices in my family.  I'd like to keep it that way for itunes/app purchases.  I would like a simple step 1, step 2, step 3 response on what I need to do to separate all other features like imessage, contacts, emails, etc.
    I have been reasearching how to do this on the internet, but I haven't found an easy explanation yet.  My family is going crazy over each others imessages being sent to others in the family and not being able to use FaceTime because of conflicting email addresses.  I have read that if each person gets their own iCloud account, this would work.  However, I need to know what to do after I set everyone up with their own iCloud account.  Do I make that the default email address to be contacted or can they still use their hotmail email addresses.  Any help- with easy explanation- would be much appreciated!!

    We do this in my family now.  We have one account for purchases, so it is used to share music and apps (I think that is in Settings/iTunes & App Stores).  Each iDevice has this configured.
    Then, each of us has our own iCloud account that is configured under Settings/iCloud.  That then allows us to have our own Mail/Contacts/Calendars/Reminders/Safari Bookmarks/Notes/Passbook/Photo Stream/Documents & Data/Find My iPhone/and Backup.  That Backup piece is pretty sweet and comes in handly if you replace your iDevice.  You can just restore from it.
    So we all share the Apple Store account but we all have our own iCloud accounts to keep the rest seperate or things like you mentioned are a nightmare.
    In answer to what iCloud does for you: http://www.apple.com/icloud/features/
    Think of it as an internet based ("cloud") area for all of those items listed in my response.  What you need to remember is photo stream only maintans the last 1000 pictures so don't count it as a complete backup solution for your pictures.  Even though I rarely sync with a computer these days, I do still try to sync my phone with iPhoto (I have an iMac) so that I have copies of all of my pictures.  1000 may not stretch as far as it sounds.

  • I was just prompted (out of no where) that "CoreServicesUiAgent" would like to access your calendar. Don't Allow. Allow. - What's that for? Why did it show up and do I allow or not? I've googled this extensively and no one knows what it is. Thanks.

    This promt seems to relate to iCal - it is requesting access to my "calendar" but the icon shows the iCal icon infront of some icon of a house with a dial - maybe it is supposed to look like a safe dial protecting my house.
    There is a ? that launches the Help Centre. There is says the prompt is because something is tying to access the calendar and I need to give permission but I'm not running anything that would have needed access.
    Is it possible that one of the websites I was on prompted it? I didn't download anything - but I'm working in SmartSheet, which uses a calendar tool to track projects. Any chance that's trying to communicate with iCal in the background?
    But I can't see anywhere online where people know what the CoreServicesUIAgent is, and there's no more info about what/who I'd be giving access to my calendar.
    Help?
    Thanks,
    k

    Thanks, I'd done that before coming to Apple and didn't receive any additional information about whether it's safe to choose "Don't Allow" or "OK". I don't know what I'm in for if I choose either one. Can't afford to lose that calendar. I depend on it too much.
