This little thing is called Favicon and is an 16x16px .ico file that you can easily generate here, for example: http://www.favicon.cc/
Afterwards just upload it to your root directory on the remote server. Simple as that

Sorry for being so lame, but I can't figure out the name of the image on the menu so I can read how to work with it.
For example, if I take a clip and drop it into the Basic graphical view as a new item, it defaults to the first frame of video as the image on the main menu. What's that image called and how do you change it to another image in the clip?
Some applications call that image the poster frame or the clip icon.

Sounds like you are referring to a drop zone (you may have dragged it in and made a button or someething ellse from the dialog?)
Anyway highllight the button or drop zone and then use the inspector to set the in point.
One the drop zone you can drag to start frame (there are no tabs), in the button it is under style tab
If you press F3 key you will see this setup

OK - what does that padlock icon on the bottom of the itunes screen mean and how do I get rid of it. I have tried to download some songs on my ipod, but when I am in my ipod on itunes, that padlock comes on and the songs will not play, either on my itunes or the ipod. What the heck is going on!

All it means, is you iPod is set for automatic updating.
If you change it to manual, the lock will go away.

What's this tiny icon for?

I have a "folder" called "games" on my iPod Touch. In it are three games. Today inside the FOLDER icon, where the teeny-tiny icons of the three games icons are, there is a fourth icon. It doesn't appear if I open the folder; then the three standard game icons are all I see, so there is no sign of this mystery icon to click on. This icon looks like a tiny square "earth" (mostly North America) with what might be a CD coming out of the bottom end. Does anyone know what this is about?

I know this is trivial but there's a somewhat new monochrome GNOME icon that many third-party icon sets seem to miss - it's for a USB device that is larger than 8.0 Gib so it does not get a pendrive monochrome icon in Nautilus but not big enough to get a external HD one.
What is the name of this particular icon so we can tweak our icon themes to make Nautilus show the correct monochrome icon?
I'm attaching two Nautilus screenshots - one with the default gnome theme and another with gnome-colors. The device in particular is called "NIPPONIC" and I circled the 'out-of-place' icon.

The photo did not attach but I think I can see on my own devices the 6 digit number you are referring to. Both the 4510L and the 4620L have these 6 digit numbers posted near the IMEI number. I would assume that these are batch numbers from the production process and are not unique for each individual device. 6 digits does not give you very many possible models to work with.
While the origins of that specific number are not certain we can confirm for you that the MAC and the IMEI are much more reliable identification numbers to go from. If the MAC and IMEIs from your coworkers photo do not match the MAC and IMEI of the device in your hand then there is nothing to debate. If they do happen to match well then you may have to dig into the problem a little more.
IMEI's are sprint identification numbers. MAC addresses are hardware identifications used on a network. Although IP Addresses can be dynamically assigned to anyone, a MAC address is always going to be unique and the same for a specific device. These two should be entirely unique for each device according to the stickers on the backs of the jetpacks.

What does that superposed arrow on the airport icon mean?

On one computer I cannot connect to the airport base station as I can with all other Mac's using the same procedure on the same base station network. On the Mac I cannot connect from, a G5 is using OS 10.4.10, the airport strength symbol is not highlighted and there is a vertical highlighted arrow superposed on the airport symbol. What does that superposed arrow on the airport icon mean?

I believe that you are seeing the icon indicating you G5 is acting as a base station. On that G5 open System Preferences->Sharing->Internet and stop Internet sharing.

at the Apple Store called "Missing Kitty" that would allow you to install a script on the root level of the HD. After installing everything and making a user it would go in and delete the user so on the next restart the computer would start up a "brand new" and already have iLife installed.

I download my pictures by:
!) Connecting my iphone to he computer.
2) It will open a window or I will go to my computer and select iphone device.
3) Open up Iphone folders and download.
When I do that, I see a windows icon, with what looks to be a hard drive. And when I click on it, it leads me back to my desktop. Right now, I only have one. I know by tomorrow I will have more. It just keeps spreading.

Ana Candano, what is your Aperture version? Earlier Aperture versions - until Aperture 3.2.4 had colored icons, Aperture 3.3 and later are gray in gray. Do you have two versions of Aperture installed?
When you post back, list your version of MacOS X and the versions of any Aperture.app you can find with Spotlight on your Mac.
Frank, the thread you pointed to, was a different question, but probably is related. It would be good to know how it has been resolved.
