What is the acceptable signal power of an AP

Hi,
We are installing many AP on my office. I must write a rules that establish the minimum signal required before installing a second AP or a repeater in the same location.  Someone can tell me what is the minimum signal power is acceptable before insatlling another AP or repeater ?
Thank you in advance

Hi,
Remember that when we are deploying a wireless setup we should always do a site survey to determine the amount of APs you need, power levels to use on each AP, where to locate each AP so that you can get the required mbps per client on each AP since as you know wireless is half duplex and also a shared medium.
Also depending on how god the signal quality is too each client they will get a required data rate.
There would not be a specific number since this will all depend on the amount of clients you need to support on the site and bandwidth per client.
Here is the link for the FAQ of a site survey.

What is the acceptable number of sub-pixel anomalies in the MacBook 13 inch?

Actually,  I am a technician in training and I was looking for the answer for a discussion I was having yesterday.  I was actually looking for the amount of pixels that can be bad in order for the screen to be replaced.  Here's what the service manual for the Mac Book has to say:

  • Dead Pixel !!! What is the acceptable limit ?

My iPod Touch has a dead pixel which I observed very recently. What is the acceptable limit before I need to request for replacement? Its about 6 months old now.
    Thanks,

The link explains apple's point of view. However, if a dead pixel does come in itouch, do i need to worry ? Does it increase the possibility more dead pixels ??

  • What is the difference between power spectrum and PSD?

    Hi all,
I input a time domain signal to the FFT power spectrum VI and FFT PSD VI seperately, and got two  outputs in frequency domain with similar shapes but different magnitudes.
I refer to some signal and system textbook, and find PSD(w)=1/pi*Power Specrum or equivalently PSD(f)=2* Power Specrum. But as I observed from the LabVIEW outputs, this relation is not correct. I input a 1KHz sin wave with amplitude=1, Fs=512KHz, #s=2048 , the PS peak is 0.5 and the PSD peak is around 0.013.
So I wondered what's the real formula LabVIEW is using to calculate PSD?
    Sunny

PSD is related to spectrum resolution, thus related to sample rate.
    df= Sample rate/ #samples
I think they follow this relationship:
Amplitude FFT power spectrum = Amplitude PSD * df * 1.5

  • What are the acceptable Sap methods/steps to change standard SAP/Abap code?

    To you Sap experts:
Can you point me to Sap document  that lists the acceptable methods to follow when modifing SAP standard  (abap code).  We are on release 4..7.
I assume there is a best practice guide if you have to modify standard Sap code of what to do and don't do.  Ex:. Field exit, CMOD, SMOD... Thanks for assistance.

    Hi,
You can implement your own logic using User Exits (which includes function module exits, screen exits, field exits and menu exits), Badi's, Enhancement points and Business Transaction, Events.

  • What is the accepted format for creating animated emoticons for the iPhone and iPad? Are they .gif files?

I'm new to creating apps for iOS and am interested in creating an app that uses animated emoticons in messaging. I wasn't sure what format was accepted, however. I presumed that .gif files would work but want to know for sure before we begin working on them. Thanks!

So...how does one make animated emoticons for iOS? That's my question, I suppose. Thanks!

  • What are the accepted values for each Maps parameter in the Apple URL Scheme?

I'm interested in a complete enumerated list of the acceptable VALUES (as in KEY=VALUE) for the URL Scheme defined https://developer.apple.com/library/ios/featuredarticles/iPhoneURLScheme_Referen ce/MapLinks/MapLinks.html
Obviously some of those parameters have an enumerated list, some are freeform. I'm just interested in the enumerated ones.

  • What is the AE's power output in watts?

    Hello!
I've been unable to find out what the Airport Extreme's power output (not consumption) is in watts.
This spec isn't on Apple's page of AE tech specs.
Can anyone tell me and give me a source link?
    Thank you!

"nominal" would be an average reading over a number of different distances. Readings would be somewhat higher if a computer were close to the router, and obviously somewhat less if the signal has to pass through 3-4 walls.
The figure doesn't really tell you very much since there really is no way to accurately predict wireless performance in advance in any given situation due to all the variables involved.

  • What are the Accepted iPhone4 video formats??

I have a Jensen vm9224 in dash tv I want to play videos on from my iPhone 4. Jensen support told me it only recognizes mp3/wma files and that mp3/wma files can't contain both audio and video? Now does the iPhone 4/iTunes accept mp3/wma files to be synced and played from the iPhone? Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

  • T510 what is the factory default Power Plan

    I  have a Lenovo T510.
In ThinkVantage there are various Power Plans...eg Energy Saver, Timers Off, Power Source Optimized, Maximum Performance, Maximum Battery Life,
Can someone advise me which Power Plan Lenovo sets it to when it is brand new from the factory.
    Thank you

    Hi Alex 1945:
Okay, I'm typing this on my T510 (bought in December 2010).  Lenovo repair center re-imaged my drive and I lost the Energy Saver Profile, which you have.  Here are all the power plan profiles that are available on my T510
    1.  Thinkpad Default
    2.  Power Source Optimized
    3.  Timers Off (Presentation)
    4.  Maximum Battery Life
    5.  Maximum Performance
    6.  Video Playback
At least when I got my T510 brand new (pre re-imaging), Energy Saver was selected.  Wish I could get that profile back.  It set all the options at two green dots.  I really got a very long battery life using that profile.  Currently using Power Source Optimized, which does well but doesn't get me the battery life of the Energy Saver (although the difference is small).

  • What is the acceptable RAM model for T400 2764 CTO (I mean ram BUS number)?

    Hi,
I have T400 with the model number 2764 CTO. It has 2*2 GB of ram installed and now I want to add a 4 GB module and remove a 2 GB one.
The problem is that I have the option to get a BUS 1066 mhz or BUS 1333 mhz RAM and I do not know which model will work with my laptop.
Please let me know if you happen to know whether the 1333 works on the laptop or not.
    Thanks,
    Sarah.

both 1066 mhz and 1333 mhz would work, but they all operate at 1066 mhz speed. That is the speed at which they operate at. I think you should just get the 1066 mhz version.

    Hi Ross,
As there's no official "Apple branded" model, you're looking at 3rd party solutions.
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/TW696LL/A
Kensington makes one that's pretty good, I've used it. I will add, that all the reviews that complain about the fan noise are spot on. It's pretty noisy but it's certainly not something that a little radio/XM/CD can't handle.
