What is the alert: identityservicesd wants to access my confidential info. on Facetime and e-mail a/c. I get this after upgraded to Maverick. on my i mac
Recently I upgraded to Maverick on imac and now i get this message evevrytime i startup.
IDENTITYSERVICESD WOULD LIKE TO ACCESS MY CONFODENTIAL INFO. ON FACETIME AND E-MAIL A/C . IN MY KEYCHAIN .
ASKING ME TO ALLOW BUT AS NOT SURE I DENY EVRYTIME.
WHAT IS THIS AND WHAT SHOULD I DO?
I routinely do NOT allow anything. Unless I am absolutely sure who it is and why they need it (they may want it, but really not need it!), I do not allow. Can't be too careful nowadays what with all the scammers.... Especially someone/something wanting information to do with my email - no way.
If, for some reason, that is actually legitimate and necessary, then you will at some point get a message that such and such service needs it and you can decide then. Remember most places want your information so they can sell you something or sell your information to someone else - it's big business.

I repeatedly see the popup:
"identityservicesd wants to use your confidential information stored in "<key>" in your keychain"
If I click "always allow" it still comes up.
I've followed instructions elsewhere on this forum to open Keychain Access and use First Aid, but to no avail.
Previously I would receive the popup "messages app wants to use your confidential information..." but I changed the Access Control to allow all applications to access this item, hoping that would do the trick. But sadly it didn't work.
Any ideas?
(Also, ever since upgrading to Mavericks, it wants to go through first-time setup every time I log in. I'm prompted to enter my iCloud password, etc. etc. but the above problem predates that)My immediate reaction is to deny.
Have you downloaded or installed any application that may relate to the abbreviation AOS? It may not necessarily be the application's name, could be the developer or distributor.
As it's occuring at log-in, go to System Preferences > Accounts > your account > Login Items and look for a related item. If there's one there, right-click (or ctrl click) on it and select Reveal in Finder. That will show you where the originator of the item is on your system and should give you more of a clue as to what it is.
I'd remove the item from login items anyway (highlight and click the minus sign at the bottom of the window). There shouldn't be anything trying to use your keychain info to notify anyone. -
Last night, I upgraded to the news Thunderbird version 31. When I try to send a signed message, I get the error written in the subject line and my message arrives without the electronic signature.
Can you assist me with this problem that I did not have before upgrading?
Thank you
CeciliaHa! You hit the jackpot! I do have Enigmail 1.6. Will download 1.7 and the latest of Thunderbird again.
Thank you for your support.

What is the best way to remotely access my sister in laws Mac who lives in another city to help her with her computer problems? The best way? Get her to bring it to you, especially if she makes good cakes.
Apples Back to my Mac isn't really suitable for this - it is designed for a single person who wants their Apple ID on the system. It would mean she would have to share hers with you & you would also have to setup her Apple ID on your Mac - it is messy & causes trouble with iCloud, iTunes etc.
You can try Messages if she is able to begin a session with you, see the 'invite to share screen' in the menus, weirdly you need to use a service that isn't from Apple.
Messages (Mavericks): Share your screen
It may be better if you to setup LogMeIn or GoToMyPC. They should 'dial out' & maintain a constant connection so you can login whenever the Mac is powered up. It won't, require a human to initiate the process at the other end, just be aware that the router may cause issues depending on what is configured, you may need settings to enable automatic port forwarding - it really depend on which option you choose. -

hi, my name is Laith I'm from Iraq I just want to know what are the steps for buying a new iphone 5 from apple store and how to ship it to Iraq ???? and I would be grateful for you
Legality aside (I'm not a lawyer and have no opinion on the matter) in order to make a purchase of an iPhone 5 you would need to travel to a country where they are for sale and purchase it there. Be sure to get one that is officially unlocked or you would not be able to use it with your cell carrier. Be sure that your carrier supports use of the iPhone before you buy. Also note that the warranty of the iPhone is only valid in the country of purchase.
Appe does not ship outside of the countries where it sells the phones. -
What's the quickest way to open Access Connections?
What's the quickest way to open Access Connections, apart from its Taskbar level meter?
I prefer to use the Power Manager battery meter instead, as it looks pretty ugly when both are used, and they take up too much space.
Fn+F5 no longer gives any access to Access Connections either. And it is not integrated into the standard Windows network system tray icon's right-click menu, like Power Manager is with the standard power system tray icon.
You cannot even type Access Connections in the Start Menu search box, as the shortcut is called something else, which I can never remember.
Ideally, I would at least like to be able to access it though the Fn+F5 box again (I'm pretty sure it was possible in versions).

What is the WPS button of my access point?
HELP! What is the WPS button of my access point?
The WPS button is what allows the printer to be recognized by the router. Sometimes it's a real hardware button and sometimes it's a software button. The instructions got your router/AP will tell you.
This may help: http://usa.canon.com/app/html/web_tutorial/WiFi-MX870_350/
Its pretty generic.

What is the Alert Query Syntax ?
can anyone help me with the syntax for the SQL query for an alert.
My requirement is really basic.
I want to send an alert to user A when user B creates an order for a particular customer.
I created the alert as usual , ticked the User A as recepient and ticked active and assigned my query, which was smilar to
SELECT DISTINCT ('TRUE') FROM
ORDR WHERE ORDR.CardCode = 'CustNo'
while I see that my query returns true, it does not trigger the alert. I hav set my frequency to one minute and the alert is an internal one too.
Thank You,
Indika.I have been fiddling around with the query and I found that a simple query like
SELECT T1.* FROM OCRD T1
worked and gave me the alert with the query reslut but
this query
SELECT T2.* FROM OCRD T1, ORDR T2 WHERE T2.CardCode = T1.CardCode AND ( T1.Priority = 1 OR T1.Priority = 2 ) AND ltrim(rtrim(T2.CardCode)) = ltrim(rtrim($[$4.0.0]))
did not , even though it does give me a result when run as a query.

Hy. please help me. what's the problem? when i accessing icloud or find my friend:The maximum number of free accounts have been activated on this iPhone.
Then you'll have to use another iOS device or Mac running OS X Lion or higher to create a new account for you to use on your phone. If you don't have one, perhaps a friend would allow you to create and account on their device (note: this will use one of their three maximum accounts). To do this, they would need to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account (which will delete the account from their device but not from iCloud), then allow you to sign back in with your ID to create the new account. Then tap Delete Account to delete the new account from their device, and finally, sign back in with their iCloud ID to restore their iCloud account to their device. Then you can sign in with your ID on your phone in Settings>iCloud and use the new account.

I want to access my Icloud account through my office computer but every time I get a message saying ''iCloud encountered an error while trying to connect to the server''
My recommendation is to download Apple’s Safari version 5.1.7 for Windows to access iCloud.com. It consistently works for me!!!! To make things easier with Safari, I made iCloud.com its Homepage. I’m using it to access iCloud.com from all of my PCs.
On my Windows 7 systems it appears that some add-ons are causing problems when you try to access iCloud.com with the 32-bit version of IE9, but the 64-bit version seems to work fine, more than likely because there are few add-ons that are 64-bit and the 64-bit version of IE9 can't be the default browser in Windows 7. -
What are the security settings to lock down a form with fillable fields and yet allow someone with Reader to fill in the fields as will as save the form and print it?
You want to allow someone to open your document and fill out the form (in the fields you have created), but not change or edit the form, right? Here's the answer - assuming you are using Acrobat Pro and someone will be opening the PDF using at least Acrobat Reader 9 and up:
Tools > Protection > Encrypt < Encrypt with Password
Answer YES to change the security.
A new window opens:
Do NOT select Document Open (or that will require a password to open the document.)
Select: Permissions (Check the box next to "Restrict editing and printing of the document.")
Change the following 2 settings from the drop-down box:
Printing Allowed: Select High Resolution
Changes Allowed: Select Commenting, filling in form fields, and signing signature fields
Leave selected: "Enable text access for screen reader devices for the visually impaired"
Change Permissions Password (insert a strong password)
Leave all other settings alone in "Options"
OK - OK
Re-enter the Permissions Password (the one you entered above)
OK - OK
Save the PDF to apply the security [notice that (SECURED0 will appear after the document title] -
What are the repercussions with removing my husbands icloud account info from my iPad?
What are the repercussions with removing my husbands icloud account info from my iPad?
Hahaha. Yes everything's ok on that front. I'm just not great at sharing my toys, so I wanted everything on my iPad to be in my name (not selfish at all, is it?). Anyway, was just concerned that if I removed that info, I might lose a whole bunch of stuff on there. I've since learned that I can keep his icloud account and " disable" the fields that I don't want to share (contacts, email) and keep the ones that I do (photos). Excuse my ignorance, I'm still a rookie on the iPad front.
So, that being said, I suppose I can tolerate his info being in my icloud. ;)
Thanks for your help Barry! -
I just updated to the new iPhoto and it asks "Iphoto wants to use your confidential info stored in "api.facebook.com" in your keychain. With only 3 things- always allow -deny- or allow. I want ALWAYS DENY. SO THIS POPS UP EVERYTIME I USE IPHOTO! Am I going to have to deal with this notice the rest of my use on Apple and Facebook? I will never "allow" this!
