What is the audio quality from a macbook pro from 2006

I am curious about exactly what the audio specs are for my 2006 Macbook pro 2/2/100.
I do not have a problem but I am wondering whether I would get better sound out of a MBP from 2009 than the one I have from 2006? Any opinions welcome.

Audio has really improved in the 2008 and 2009 aluminum MBPs. Volume is much louder and the bass response is much better. It almost sounds like the speakers are in a box vs. the small enclosure of the MBP.

  • What is the impact of restoring a MacBook Pro from 2009 to factory settings

I am concerned about all upgrades since original purchase as well as a verison of Office 2008 - all of which I intend to keep.

MacBook Pros are notebooks, Mac Pros are desktops.
Office 2008 was not prebundled with any Mac operating system in full release.   There are some Test Drive office releases that were released at times.   You'll have to find either your download direct from Microsoft, or CD from Microsoft to reinstall Office 2008.   Some have had difficulty with Office 2008 installer running on Mac OS X 10.7 or later.   You can try OpenOffice, LibreOffice, Zoho Docs as alternatives if all you do is Excel, Word, and Powerpoint.   Some Exchange servers require Microsoft's own e-mail program, while others work fine with Mac OS X Mail.   Your best bet is to backup your system at least twice before doing any restore to factory settings.

  • What is the right charger for a MacBook Pro 13"  mid 2009 model?

What is the right charger for a MacBook Pro 13" mid 2009 model? I have two chargers for two different Mac and don't know which is  thankswhich. I'm really looking for specific details such as voltage/watts and all the rest to idenify my charger.  A link to where to web page where I could purchase the correct charger would also be very useful. Many thanks.
All help much appreciated. THANK YOU

Both power adapter I have are different (at the magnet end) from the one in link.
Earlier adapters have T shaped connectors, which Apple later changed to the L shape, presumably to make them more abuse-proof. Either one is fine and the one you are using will not damage your Mac.
Retina MBPs and new MBAs use a completely different MagSafe 2 connector which will not fit (without an adapter).

  • What is the average lifespan of a macbook pro?

I'm really curious because I want my macbook to be useful for a couple of years. I just purchased the newest model out. Does anyone know or have experience of their long life macbook pro's? How long has anyone's macbook pro lasted? And I don't mean by the battery, but the whole laptop. Or in general, what is the average lifespan of a macbook pro?

If you take good care of it, you can get a decade or more out of it.
The LEDs that provide the display backlighting will eventually wear out and need to be replaced. Likewise, the LCD screen itself isn't going to last forever. The point is: for a high-technology product, the MBPs have an incredible lifespan. They're very good laptops.
I have G4 PowerBooks that are 5 years old and still going strong. Apple notebooks are good quality, long-lasting machines.

  • What is the minimun battery backup of macbook pro 13inch 2012

what is the minimun battery backup of macbook pro 13inch 2012

It will vary - you can download the free "Battery Health" from the App Store and it will give you approximate times of battery life for various tasks: Current Usage, Internet Browsing, Music, Movies, etc. Watching even YouTube videos can kill some battery life - to say nothing of actually watching a DVD, for example.
Download the app and see what type of results you get - you'll be better equipped to estimate your battery life after a few sessions.

  • What's the best SSD for a Macbook Pro 13" Mid 2010?

    Hello.
I will upgrade my 2010 Macbook Pro. I need to know what's the best SSD for my Macbook Pro. I was thinking about those:
    - Kingston SSDNow V+200 (SVP200S37A/120G) - 120 GB
    - CRUCIAL SSD M4 128 GB
    - CORSAIR SSD  Force Series GS 128 GB
    - SAMSUNG SSD 840 Series Basic 2.5" - 120 GB (MZ-7TD120BW)
    - CRUCIAL SSD interno Crucial v4 - 128 GB
Those are the easiest to find on Portugal.

It is my understanding that SATA III is backwards compatible to SATA II so that should not be an issue for your selection process.
As an aside, you might be interested to know that your MBP can now have 16 GB RAM installed.

  • What is the best anti~virus for macbook pro?

What is the best anti~virus foe macbook pro?

None whatsoever. I'm sure that you've heard the line that "Macs don't get viruses"? That's almost true - Macs can be infected with malware, however, and can pass viruses onto PCs. See Thomas Reed's Mac Malware Guide. The only two virus packages that are usually recommended are both free - Sophos and ClamXav. If you feel that you need AV software, try one or both.
    Good luck,

go to the Store and configure all the models with upgrades but... an SSD will be fast and responsive, no noise or heat and adds $200 probably to the cost

  • Looking for a monitor that will match the picture quality on my Macbook Pro.

Today i bought a 27" LED Monitor w/ 2560 X 1440 resolution. The specs on the box seemed to match that of a thunderbolt display yet when connected (via HDMI) the picture quality was significantly lower than that of my Macbook Pro (13.3" 2.9 Ghz July 2012). Im likely to return this monitor due to the poor quality. What i want to know is what kind of monitor is out there that will match the color and quality of my macbook pro. I am willing to lose monitor size in return for this quality but i dont want to spend $1,000 on a thunderbolt display (i spent $400 on this monitor). Any one out the with monitor knowledge to help me out in my purchasing decision?

For anyone out there with a similar problem, after a few days of researching the issue i've found a solution. The problem being that HDMI cables wont support resolution higher than 1080p (1920 x 1080) therefore using an HDMI connection, your monitor wont output to its full potential (that is ofcourse if it can support higher than 1920 x 1080). The solution is to use a DisplayPort connection. DisplayPort is the best connection for computer monitors because it can output higher resolutions than hdmi and in most cases DVI. Today it seems like everyone is using HDMI to connect everything and it has become the standard. In the case of TV/Cable HDMI is probably your best choice because it is more properly formatted for that type of display but if you want the best picture quality for computer monitors, i'd stick with a DisplayPort cable. For compatibility with your Macbook Pro/Air/iMac, you do need to buy a MiniDisplayPort to DisplayPort converter cable to make the connection.
Again this is just how to output a non-apple display to your apple computer. If you can afford them, the ThunderBolt and Apple Cinema displays are both great monitors that can output some really high quality picture as well.

Can someone please tell mewhich is the best antivirus program for macbook pro?

    Hi..
Both Sophos Anti-Virus for Mac and ClamXav are recomended and both are free.
Actually, malware is more of a threat on a Mac than a virus.

  • What is the audio quality on an iPod Shuffle?

I have just received a free iPod shuffle. I would like to know whether the sound quality is different on all different models/varieties of iPods. I am an audiophile and quality is 1st priority. If one has music files as AAC format with highest bit rate possible, will it sound exactly the same on a Shuffle as on an iPod classic, or what about an iPod touch? Where can I find a description of the different audio quality of playback on these different size devices?
    Thanks

Apple does not publish audio specs on the various iPods and this information is tough to come by. They all sound pretty similar, some will have slight differences from others due to the difference in chipsets used.
Personally I think my 1st Generation iPod Shuffle has slighter better bass than the 2nd Generation Shuffle, 3rd Generation is on a par with the 1st Gen, my fifth generation iPod sound cleaner than my 160GB iPod Classic and I prefer the 2nd Generation Nano sound to all of them.

  • What is the best antivirus for a MacBook Pro Retina Display?

I would like to know what is the current best FREE and PAID antivirus out there the MacBook Pro

If you are running as a admin based users which most people are you should run something.  Apple doesn't maintain good patch levels for OS X.  Malware threats for mac are growing and even Apple as increased their updates to check daily and automatically install.  Just like Microsoft does today by default.  This all stems from the 600,000+ Macs infected by FlashBack, 59% of which were in the US.  Oracle had patched the flaw in java months before but apple simple didn't do anything about it.
OS X is the buggest software I have ever seen.  Lion was just a complete disaster for many enterprise customers and most of those fixes are not being included in Mountain Lion.  So pay $29.99 for your OS X that just has all kinds of problems and then pay us $19.99 to get the fixes for Lion in Mountain Lion.
Now they cannot even mass produce Retina displays, they are delayed 4+ weeks, i hear 6+ weeks.
Rush to get things out, poor quality is creeping in.
What I've been dealing with lately is not being unable to netboot varoius models of Macs.  We have tested with 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 model macs and all behave differently.  The 2008 is the best as it will tftp the booter and kernelcache files in about 20 secons.  This is because it uses a block rate of 8192 by default.  The 2011 model takes more than 5 minutes to do the samething because some genius set the tftp rate to only use 512 block which kills performance.  And there is no way to manually increase this block rate.  On top of this all the mac models have a hard coded 5 minute time out.  This means that if the booter and kernelcache (phase 1) take longer than 5 min to boot up the entire process fails.  This is an issue with the newer models which only allow 512 blocks.  Who thinks this stuff up.  Really!
