just wondering what is the benefit of having the macbook register to apple
will it prevent someone stealing the macbook and we can track where this macbook is?
or just for warranty purposes?
by the way any suggestions for locking or something to prevent someone steal the macbook?

Yes, they can. Registering with Apple doesn't have any effect on the computer itself at all.
like if they go repair the macbook, will apple know that this macbook was stolen?
Generally no. Apple has no formal tracking ability, and as a former Apple employee once posted, they have no way of knowing just from some user's report that an item is indeed stolen and so cannot make assumptions; it wouldn't be the first time someone made a false report. If an authorized law enforcement agency were to contact Apple, Apple might be in a position to do something, but it's rare that police have the resources to take those kinds of actions unless it's a large theft, as with someone robbing a store.

As you are using Snow Leopard, read "Resetting your original administrator account password" > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1274 You have to start from the Mac OS X Snow Leopard disc, so you need an external optical drive or another Mac or PC to use Remote Install Mac OS X

DOes anyone know the cost of having my HD replaced by Apple, can not get any idea of cost anywhere. I rang Apple Belfast who didn't know they put me through to tech support and he didn't know either. My iMac is 21.5 2009 with 500gb. I would just like some idea before I take it up to them. It's almost certain that the HD is fried can not boot to external can not get off white screen by doing all Apples checks for white screen. So worse case is probably the HD and would like to know what I will be up for, if it is the worst case. I can supply more info if anyone can help . Pleaseeee

I have the same iMac as you but with a 1 TB hard drive.
Apple replaced the 1 TB hard drive of iMacs manufactured between October 2009 and July 2011 because of problems. When I took my iMac, the Genius gave me the bill (even if the repair was free) and the 1 TB hard drive cost about $100. This was with a 1 TB Seagate hard drive, so the cost for a 500 GB hard drive may be smaller, depending on the brand

The Benefit Plan in the latest OPA release does not seem to work with Siebe

I've installed the latest version of OPA (10.0.1.14.0) and it came with a Benefit Plan example. The Income Thresholds.xls and Interpretative.dox are missing so it can not be compiled.
Also the OPA Connector Developer Help has a section for this tutorial which explains how to use the Benefit Plan example in Siebel. However I cannot see how by clicking the 'Eligibility' button on HLS Case Form Applet, it is going to call OPA to run the Benefit rules.
Can someone please explain how to get this example working with OPA?
I understand that from Siebel you need to call the 'Policy Automation Assess Workflow' to pass in the relevant data to OPA, but I don't understand how this workflow is being called in the Benefit Plan example? The 'Eligibility' button called a method 'CreateBenefitPlan' which is a user property on 'HLS Case' BC and all it does is a RefreshRecord. So I can't see exactly what is being done behind.

It should be mad clearer in the help but this example is reliant on the Siebel 8.2 public sector version.

How come two signals of the same frequency show on the graph as having the same?

My assignment for school is to build a 2 channel oscilloscope, with generators too. Initially, I tried using a waveform chart, that actually showed a very "ugly" image. Just for testing, I left the chart there with hidden indicator.
The student teacher suggested I use a graph, which is ok, as far as the shape of the signal. The "time" axis however doesn't really show the time.
Thinking that it might show the samples, I put at the "nr.of samples" the reciprocal of the sampling rate multiplied with 1000,000 and the result was the same. The really strange part is that if I'd put two different frequencies for each channel it showed as is the signals had the same frequency.
And that's not the only problem... The while loop everything is in doesn't look like it's executing more than once. Now, I know the vi is pretty large but is that what makes it behave like that?
I also put cursors (like in the example from Fundamentals> Graphs and Charts > Programatically Control Cursors) that should be in the middle of the graph. Since I didn't use a chart, are the values at "Style" or "Pointer Style" different? (I wanted the cursors to be multi-plot).
Can you help me with any of that?

First of all, I would suggest you to synchronize all actions according to data flow concept : try to link all property nodes with error wires... That way, you MAY notice some warnings/errors. Then you should try to group functionalities into clusters, that way your code would be easier to debug...
Then your While Loop runs as fast as possible (which makes your processor to run at 100% all time long), you should consider using a timing function to slow down the loop.
Then using "Graphs", the X-axis will display the number of samples in the array to plot. If you know the sampling frequency of your signal and the number of samples in the array, you can try use "Xaxis.Multiplier" property node to convert the number of samples into time.
Then for your cursors, you should consider using "Cursos List" property node... It's not really cool to program it (lot of options) but it works very well and allows you to deeply customize your cursors.

iOS is the software that runs your device. Without it iPhones and iPads will not work. Most people are getting along fine with no problems after they updated the iOS on their device to iOS 7. The more recent version of iOS have more capability and iOS 7 has better security features.
Some people do not like the appearance changes that came with iOS 7. You have to decide.
As for me, I can't even remember how the previous version of iOS looked.

What is the cost of having the home button on a Ipod fixed?

My Ipod is about 2 years old, and recently the home button has stopped working. I have put it on assistive touch mode, but I'd prefer to have to the home button repaired. How much will that cost? Is it worth it?

When clicking pages and keynote tap a question mark appears and it doesn't launch. What can I do without having the original disc anymore?

I tried to clean up my mac yesterday and might have deleted some files by accident which are connected to iwork. However I still see when looking through library support files that a lot of iworks is still there except in the applications folder. So how can I recover iworks? I can't find the disc either due to lot of moves in the past. Or do I have to purchase a new set of iworks?

Why isnt the iPad 3 having the blur effect in Control Centre plus Siri and the Notification Center anymore?

I heard that beta 4 had the blur effect but since beta 5 the blur effect vanished and now my iPad looks ugly after update...how does it look beautiful when Apple hasn't supported the blur in iPad two and three!! Hope this is a bug...

I bought the 64gb 3G iPad 1 and the 64gb LTE iPad 3.... My understanding at the time was that Apple has amazing support for older devices so it was worth it to me to spend close to $1000 for each iPad... But now... Seeing that they remove things like Blur Effects and Air Drop from devices that could support it, and they keep Siri off the iPad 2 even though the iPad mini gets ALL of these features... Good job, Apple, you taught me that it's not worth it to spend $1000 on an iPad when we all can be guaranteed you won't support it anymore after just two years. It's just not worth it.
It's also sad that they don't have enough confidence in their new products, they have to intentionally cripple the older ones just to make the newer ones look that much better.
I thought Apple was better than this. It's a bummer.... I was tempted to get the iPad 5 now, but 16gb is the most I would spend at this point knowing it will be obsolete and uglified within 2 years, not to mention 16gb is so low...I mean ***. Are we to believe that storage requirements haven't changed from iPad 1 ( a time when people weren't even sure what an iPad would be good for) and iPad 5 when people are creating content left and right.... 16gb is ridiculous... The pricing is an insult. At this point if they bumped 32gb to the bottom tier it would still be outdated. It should be 64gb, 128gb, 256gb....
So for all of these reasons, it feels like Apple is trying to talk me out of buying a new iPad more than they are trying to sell me on one.
