well since I just tried 1.04 and it's fine then you probably can upgrade as the original firmware had issues with USB connected drives. But if you don't connect a USB drive directly to your router for wireless access. Then you can skip upgrading to 1.04 as well

I downloaded Firefox Setup 8.0.1.exe from the website to my desktop and opened it as an administrator. The available choice (once opened) was to upgrade. When the process was complete my version of Firefox was identified as 8.0.1 but the main screen still said - "You're not on the latest version of Firefox. Upgrade today to get the best of the Web!"

Starting with the Firefox 4 version, Firefox is using a "local" Start Page with the address of '''about:home'''. It looks similar to the old Start Page, but it isn't exactly the same.

So I am just wondering which case would be the best for the iPhone 6. I know that there are plenty of different cases out there. And I would like to get one that doesn't limit the use of the phone. But I also need the case that's good with drops and what not. Not that I make a habit of dropping my phone.

Of course, "best" case is in the eyes of the person using the phone.
Some would say it is an Otterbox, others would say it is a case which does not add too much bulk, others would say it is a case which extends battery life of your device, my daughter says the best case is the one she thinks is the most attractive(and minimizes bulk) and jorgeo_vzw has given his opinion which differs from at least a few of these options.
My best suggestion would be to determine what your usage habits are and choose according to those habits. The best case will not be the same case for everyone.

Ok, I have spent a lot of time reading about the blue tooth devices and I am confused. I do have my $100 store credit to spend ( but dont HAVE to use it for that) so I am wondering....what blue tooth device is the best? I have the Apple Bluetooth Headset... I gave it a 3-stars out of 5 rating. It is really tiny which makes it easy to carry in your shirt pocket or wherever. But, it doesn't fit in my ear well.. had to pick up an adapter that lets it plug into the ear canal.. much better. Also, it's slow to answer a call and no noise reduction for your voice (background noise goes thru to your phone-partner.)
My sister has a jawbone and really likes it. Many others on this forum have recommended the jawbone as well. It's physically bigger, but apparently sounds really good and kills the background noise that your recipient would normally hear.

I start the Firefox browser.
When the start page displays I get just below the Google search box:
You're not on the latest version of Firefox. Upgrade today to get the best of the Web!
Not unusual but when I go to the update site it searches for a minute and then tells me that I have the current version of the software.

If you use the www.google.com/firefox site as home page that previous Firefox 3 versions use as the home page then you can ignore the message about not using the latest Firefox version on that page. 
Google no longer seems to maintain that page. 
Current Firefox 4+ versions no longer use that Google website as the home page, but use the build-in about:home page as the home page. 
Google assumes that you use an older Firefox version if you still visit that site and warns you that you use an older Firefox version and suggests to update. 
You can use another page as the home page like about:home or www.google.com or www.google.com/ig (iGoogle).

If your budget is unlimited, look at both the retina and non-retina and make a decision based on your preferences. If funds are tight, explore the options in the refurbished section. Unless you are dealing with courses that demand specific performance parameters, any one of these options will suffice.

No need to go for the highest-cost MBP - an entry level 15" non-retina MBP should work quite well for you. You can begin by using iMovie and then, as your needs and expertise increase, switch to Final Cut Pro, if you wish. Your machine will be able to handle it.
Take a trip to the Apple Store online and look at the options for the non-Retina 15" MBP - and remember that you can always upgrade the RAM and the hard drive as a DIY project.

I got a friend who bought and iPhone in europe and he keeps saying that he made a mistake because the ones with factory unlocks in USA with LL/A model numbers are better ....?!?! Is this true?

It sounds like you friend feels the one in the Europe is locked and the one purchased in the United States is unlock. Well depends how you buy your unit? Is he planning to purchase and unlock iphone or carrier locked iphone?
Many of my friends, from England, visit NYC to go shopping for their idevices. Why?
- Is cheaper vs europe pricing
- they can get an purchase an unlock idevice issue free as long they willing to pay full retail price.
The question are willing to go that far to purchase anything overseas?
Do the math: travel, currency exchange, hotel cost, flights, food and waiting on line to get unlock iphone 6. Is really worth it? Some people will have different answers to this question. Your answer will be unique.

Is Safari the best for the mac?

i have a new macbook and have noticed that safari is rather slow compared to my old windows xp computer which i used firefox. i read a little here on these boards and noticed other have some issues with safari.
i want to ask if safari is the best online browser or if there is better? i downloaded firefox and noticed it is a bit faster.
should i keep with safari? I mean, it did come with my new macbook...but so did internet explorer on my old windows laptop and never used it.
i'm one to take full advantage of applications and know the ups and downs of the application im using. does safari have enough features for me to keep at it or what?

It is really hard to give a definative answer to this, because it becomes a matter of preference.
Safari, is a very good web browser.

The best and the most secure way?

I wonder what way i have to go on this one. I have the situation working but i like to know if we have doen the right thing.
This is the situation:
we have a user named BIGREPOSITORY and we have a user named VIEWREPOSITORY. The user BIGREPOSITORY is the owner of a table named REP_WOLRDLIST and we like to give VIEWREPOSITORY a strict view only acces to the table REP_WOLRDLIST.
What have we done:
we created a view named VIEW_REP_WORLDLIST in BIGREPOSITORY to "SELECT * FROM REP_WORLDLIST" and we have granted the object option "select BIGREPOSITORY.VIEW_REP_WORLDLIST" to the user VIEWREPOSITORY.
Is this the correct way or should we only have to grant the object option "select BIGREPOSITORY.REP_WORLDLIST" to the user VIEWREPOSITORY? Is the way we have done it "over"done?

Granting SELECT on the table, and granting SELECT on a view based on SELECT * FROM table are equivalent. The only reasons you would really need to use a view for security purposes are:
If viewrepository should only see a subset of the columns of the table and/or viewrepository should only see a subset of the rows of the table.
In those cases, you would construct a view that selects only the appropriate columns and/or rows from the table.
