  • What is the best and easiest print app for the iPad and iPhone?

What is the best and easiest print app for the iPad?

    Richard-
The best and easiest is to use the iPad's built-in AirPrint system with an AirPrint-capable printer.  <iOS: AirPrint 101>
If you do not have an AirPrint-capable printer, all printing Apps are a compromise.  I have an HP non-AirPrint printer connected to my WiFi router.  The free HP App, ePrint Home & Biz works OK with photos.
Print n Share and PrintCentral each have their own browser, mail, text and photo programs that work well with the printer, but they can only be accessed from within other programs that have the "Open In" option.  (So far, I think GoodReader is the only App I have with that option.)
You can run a program like Printopia or FingerPrint on your computer that will share its printer as AirPrint over WiFi.  They both are reported to work well.  However your computer must be on and awake any time you want to print.  <Printopia for Macintosh>  <FingerPrint for PC and Mac>

  • What is the BEST free duplicate file finder for my OS X 10.8.5?

Could you please recommend the best free duplicate file finder for my OS X 10.8.5?
My hard disk is full and am hoping that finding and deleting duplicate files will help.   I am not able to even work with my Gdrive.
    Thank you!

I doubt if you'll find enough duplicated files to make a difference.  Also there may be numerious files with the same name that are needed.  Running some of the general dup finders can damage iPhoto libraries.
You best bet is to get an external HD, formatted OS X Extended (journaled) and move files to it.  Many move their iPhoto and iTunes libraries to the EHD and run them from there.  That ususally frees up a lot more space than the recommended minimum free space, 10 - 15 GB.

What is the best application of Microsoft Office for the iPad?

Can I open word, excel, and .ppt with this app?  How much does it cost?
Is it similar to operate as Microsoft Office Word 2011 for MAC?
Yes, of course that is why I recommend them as office-compatible apps for iOS.  That is exactly what they are designed for - to allow you to work with your MS Office documents on your iOS device.
I'm not sure of the current price, but if you search the app store, they are very easy to find - Docs2Go and QuickOffice have been amongst the top ranked MS Office-type apps for several years now.  Both also include a means to move files from your computer to your iOS device (QuickOffice uses an embeded file server over wifi, and Docs2Go has a free companion sync app for your computer).

  • What's the best commercial clean up tool for the hard drive.

What is the best commercial, clean up tool for an internal hard drive.  Mine is rapidly being filled and I'm at a loss as to how to clean it up.  I don't know what apps, downloads etc are current or pertinent.  I suspect that I have a lot of redundency, but I'm not confident in knowing what they are.  My hard drive is approx. 93% filled and I'm rather concerned.

I downloaded the free trial of EasyDuplicatFinder and tried it. Works great and is pretty easy to get the hang of it. Found lots of iTunes duplicate songs that I dumped and freed up quite a bit of hard drive space. Check it out.

Realized that speedtest.net app that everyone uses for the iPhone doesn't offically have an app for the iPad (althought you can use the iPhone version on the pad, the resolution is not there.)

I guess most of your 4K posts are mostly bully posts...
Please read the ToU for the forum:

  • What's the best way to transfer apps to another iPad?

I just upgraded from the original iPad to the iPad 4th gen, and I want to transfer apps and their saved data as well if possible so I don't have to repurchase them. What's the best way to do this?

apps never bind to the device they bind to the appleID you could not buy them again if you tried
any attempt to buy an app already bought with the appleID will result in a free redownload

  • What is the best voice to text app for iPad Air?

I had the app Dragon (a voice to text app), on my iPhone and downloaded it to my iPad Air, but it's not working. Reading the "help" area it says something about ATT iPads don't support it. I have ATT.
But, I can open the app and it reads "Tap and dictate" as though all is fine and dandy and then after practically yelling into almost every part of the iPad (to no avail), it just says " Sorry message not recognized. Please try again."
Can anyone help me on this?  Also is there a better/best dictation app for iPad?
    Thanks, Joan

You can use text-to-speech in any app. I'm a big fan of the app Drafts as it allows two touch tranfer to any number of other applications, not unlike how I recall Dragon worked. If you don't want to spring for Drafts (though I can't recommend it highly enough!), you can always use the built in Notes app then copy and paste when you're done.
No, you can't see the words as you speak. However, you can always stop after a couple of sentences and review.
    Best of luck.

PS. one thing that keeps popping up in some circles is the
performance of AIR and AIR Apps. I sure hope this is something that
    can be resolved sometime soon.

    Hi Mukesh,

  • What's the best Bluetooth file sharing app for iPhone

I'm trying to find a good BT file sharing app for an iPhone 5. I've noticed that the iPhone 5 won't even detect devices such as other phones or computers with BT but seems to have no issue with BT accessories such as satnav. My iPod touch has no problem detecting any BT device which seems odd.
So, is there a good BT file sharing app availble for an iPhone 5?

You won't find any Bluetooth File Sharing app that will work with non-iOS devices. That is something iOS simply does not support.

  • What are the best external backup battery choices for the iPod Touch 4G?

    Hello,
I am so disappointed with the battery life on my iPod Touch 4G, even when I turn off location services and notifications and put it in airplane mode.
As such, I realize that I am going to have to get an external backup battery, even though I don't like the idea of carrying around yet another item.
What are the best choices out there, especially any ultra-portable (aka small and non-bulky) ones?  I came across this Juice Pack Air - iPod Touch 4G Case, which seems like the perfect solution, but it is on back order and seems to have been so for a good amount of time.  Who knows when it will be in stock again.
TIA for any and all help!
