What is the best graphic format for an image being used in LiveCycle?

I have been asked by IT to create images for someone developing forms in LiveCycle. I am using Illustrator to create them. I am very unfamiliar with LiveCycle. I just learned of its existence about an hour ago. I was going to assume that since it is Adobe, then vector would work but it seems from other posts that there are only four options. I am worried about lossness and graininess. This is unfamiliar territory and unfortunately, my time for doing this is short (shocker). Any advice would help.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
You should really post questions out in the main forum (http://forums.adobe.com/community/livecycle/livecycle_modules_and_development_tools/livecy cle_designer_es). Questions here in the FAQ subform could go unanswered for some time.
See the Designer help here: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/livecycle/9.0/designerHelp/index.htm?content=000006.html.

  • HT4664 What is the best graphics card for FCPX?

In the nonstop anti-FCPX propaganda is an article of interest — posted 7/9/12 — comparing the benchmarks of FCPX and PP6.
    http://www.streamingmedia.com/Producer/Articles/ReadArticle.aspx?ArticleID=83582 &PageNum=1
The system used was a 2 x 2.93 GHz Quad-Core Mac Pro from early 2009 running MacOS X version 10.7.4 with 12 GB of RAM and an NVIDIA Quadro FX 4800 graphics card with 1.5 GB of onboard RAM.
In most cases PP6 outperformed FCPX with this configuration. However, in the comments Ben Balser pointed out that FCP X's A/VFoundation engine wasn't ideal on the NVIDA card:
"Quadro is actually not the best card for FCP X's A/VFoundation engine, but great for CS6's Mercury engine, so the test is amazingly flawed right there. Try both on a 5780 card and watch things drastically change. I've done that test myself. Exporting to Compressor uses a MUCH more sophisticated encoding engine meant for higher level, professional transcoding, not simple outputs, which are faster using Export Media…"
Apple lists this card on its support page: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4664
    So,
What is the best graphics card for FCPX?

    Ben,
Thanks for chiming in on that article. It would be good to have a benchmark comparison with the two systems each with a preferred card.
I'm hoping to see some other comparisons on this thread. Also, some links to other articles about best practices and configurations.

  • What's the best graphic card for FCP X and a Mac Pro (early) 2008?

I have a Radeon HD 3870 in my Mac Pro, it seems that I cannot use this configuration with Final Cut Pro X. Then what's the best graphic card for FCP X usable in a Mac Pro (early) 2008?
    Thx,
    Phil

You can get a 5770 radeon ATI MAC card
Avoid the 5770 cards on ebay and Amazon - many are black market or manipulated cards.
Buy it from Apple online store or B&H photo or Macconection
And in my case, I was able to sell my old 2600 XT card on ebay for $65 and put that money toward a 5770 card (Which was about $230 minus the $65)
I installed the 5770 in my early Mac Pro 2 x 2.8 and it works great

For iPhone and Android, what is the best file format for watching videos?

You can try these setting. They are from CS5.5 but should work in CS4.
Make sure you check Use Max. Render Quality.

  • What is the best graphics card for me

    i have a G5 dual 2.0Mhz (not intel).
i upgraded to an ati radeon 9800 with 256M of memory and performance did improve over my 9800 with 128M of memory. however, i am still experiencing some slow downs that i suspect are graphics-related. what is the BEST option for me?

Absolutely agree with Mike. My X800 is wonderful. I never really did A/B tests with the original 9600 but Aperture is very pleasant with the X800.

  • What is the best file format for importing photos into Imovie?

What is the best format to save photos in before bringing into Imovie? What is the best resolution for them and what is the best size? These will eventually be ported over to IDVD. It seems that as jpgs Imovie didn't recognize them, but as psds it did.

    hi Richard:
Just a personal preference, but if I intend on using the photos for printing I keep them in the PSD form. When adding to imovie, however, I use .pict

  • What is the best video format for importing into After Effects CS5

Please look at this video, work in progress.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=49_wbdKALQk
The opening, featuring a ribbon of videos, was created in After Effects, using Digieffects Freeform.
The  issue is the poor quality of the videos that are featured in the  opening -- compared to the higher quality of videos from the original Premiere  project., which you can see at the end of the clip.
To create the After Effects project, I exported a series of video clips from Premiere  to mp4.
Then I imported them into AfterEffects.
The bottom line, and the purpose of this question, is I am thinking that  MP4 was not the best choice for the Adobe Premiere export.
What  is the best format to export video from in Premiere Pro CS5 to import  into after effects, or to import into any other editing program,  incuding importing right back into Adobe Premiere, if that is eever  needed.
    AVI?
    MOV
    MP4
And any other settings that will result with the highest qualiity videos for importing.
    Thanks

To follow on with Wade's suggestion...
There are lots of ways to get movies and projects and other things back and forth between After Effects and Premiere Pro. This page outlines them:
"Working with Premiere Pro and After Effects"
If you must render and export a movie out of one application to bring it into another, there is a very basic piece of video workflow advice that you need to keep in mind (which applies to _all_ video software, not just After Effects and Premiere Pro):
If you're creating a movie to be used in the next step of a post-production pipeline, you _never_ want to use a format that does lossy compression. You either use no compression or (preferable) lossless compression. Examples of codecs that provide lossless compression are the Animation codec and PNG codec at the highest quality settings; these can be used in a QuickTime container, for example. Never compress a movie with lossy compression except at the very end of your pipeline, when you're creating the final movie for distribution.
MP4 (MPEG-4) is a lossy codec. The quality loss is acceptable for the last stage in the pipeline, but it's not acceptable for an intermediate file.
It seems that you would benefit from reading this and and working your way through this.

  • What is the best file format for PC (Windows7 64bit) and Mac OSX 9.2.1?

My external hard drive containing files from my PC (Windows 7, 64 bit), says the files are READ ONLY. I'm trying to work of files on my Macbook Pro (OSX, 10.9.2). If I have to reformat  the drive, what is the best format that will work for both systems?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

The Tuxera NTFS for mac seems to have fixed the issue.
My question now is, Will reformatting to ExFatbe better or quicker?
Thank you to AL of you for your help!

  • What is the best graphics card for my Powermac G5

    Hello every1 @ discussions.apple.com!
I am thinking about upgrading my Graphics card. Currently I have a radeon 9600 in My powermac G5 (early 2005 2.3 ghz dual), it works fine but its a bit slow and drops frames on anything HD. I have been looking around and the best card that i will not need to flash/format to work would probably be a NVIDIA GeForce 6800 GT DDL (I really dont want to have to flash the card as it seems like a slightly complicated process and i would like to keep within all the manufacturers warranties). My main goal is to obtain the best card possible for HD video editing or viewing. I was wondering if there where any superior cards available for my mac that would serve those purposes better.
    Many thanks in advance.
    All the best.
    Dc

The performance differences vary by software in use.
Some software runs better with a Geforce, other with a Radeon.
The Radeon cards will do better with games, but the Geforce will likely do better with 3D and pro apps.
    http://www.barefeats.com/radx800.html
As far as viewing HD, any one of the cards will give additional horsepower.
I use a Geforce 6800 GT and a Radeon X800 and I don't see any difference between the two with regard to handling video.
Of course, the two cards do much better than the Radeon 9800 series or other offerings OEM.
After that, it's all up to the CPU, free space on the boot drive and RAM.
Oh, yes, one other benefit of the Geforce is two DVI ports.
The OEM Radeon cards each have one ADC, one DVI.

  • What is the best file format for photos?

    Greetings.
I am going to be importing some photos into FCE 3.5.1 to do some effects and motion. What is the prefered file format form Photoshop for FCE? TIFF, JPEG, and PS format all import, but I'm just wondering if one is prefered over the other.
My images will be pretty big, 3000 pxels x xxx at 72dpi, so I can move in and out, and maybe pan.
    Thanks.
    Jonathan

PNG, PSD. Don't make the image larger than you need to.

  • What is the best video format for logic X

It used to be that .DV was the way to go. Although the files were huge, it was a much smaller load on the processor because there wasn't any encoding and decoding going on.
Now LogicX / Mavericks doesn't support .DV anymore. What is the best format. dvcpro?
    Best,

Don't know if it's the best, but until now I do not have issues with QT H.264 format.

  • What is the best video format for a Mac?

An unwritten standard is MP4,...  avi files are questionably a close second.

  • What's the best file format for exporting to web?

Hey Everyone- I design Hot Rods using an older CS3 version of Illustrator. The art board is 16x20".  When I print I use Walmart's photo lab and with an exported jpeg file at 150 dpi the print looks crisp and nice and highly detailed. When I save a file for emailing proofs to clients or posting on car forums, I have been exporting the file as 72 dpi at 10" wide. When I do this the art often looks a bit blurry and not near as crisp as the vector file.
I have to have the files viewable via the internet, this is how I do all my marketing for new customers. They need to be relatively low in file size to load quickly in forums and such. What's the best way to accomplish this without losing resolution quality?
Below is an example. This one turned out ok,  but some detail gets lost between the vector file viewed at the same size and the web based jpeg.
Thanks in advance for any insight!

    HRD,
You may use PDF for proof and anything else but web/screen use, for unlimited crispness and smoothness.
For web and the like, the obvious way may be PNG24 with transpanency at exactly the same size in pixels x pixels that it is being shown at, and with Art Optimized ticked in the Image Size window. That should give crisper images than JPEG.
