What is the best Macbook temperature?

I just bought the Macbook 2 days ago, and I notice that it heats up pretty fast (even when I'm just browsing..not watching any videos or downloading anything).
I did download a software that allows me to control the SPEED of the EXHAUST FAN.
Right now while I'm typing this my Macbook says it's 68 degrees Celsius it's still a little bit warm.
I just don't how much to adjust the speed of the fan.  I don't want it running too high to cause damage to my notebook.
So what's the best temperature that my Macbook should be in??

Mine's currently at 73ºC as I type this.
Here is my record screenshot. LOL I just noticed the fans were still at idle speed 2000rpm!!

It is the GPU that is important.  All the CPU's will be fast enough.  If you can affords it, the 15" with the NVIDIA GPU is the best.

  • What is the best MacBook for a UNI student studying design (also making videos, websites, etc)?

I'm starting university next year and am wanting to study design. I also make videos and websites and what not on the side. I've never had a Mac before, I have an iPhone but have never owned or used a MacBook but I hear they're the best for graphics, etc. Which MacBook out of the all would be the best for designing and video making, etc?
    Thanks!

I have a late 2011 MBP with 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD - it may not be as fast as the most expensive Retina model, but it's pretty close. I use the Adobe CS6 Design & Web Premium suite but I'm not much into video editing. However, were I you...
I'd get the top-of-the-line non-Retina MacBook Pro and opt to spend the extra $100US on the HD antiglare screen. You can upgrade the RAM to 16GB yourself and, if you decide that the drive that comes with it is just too slow, you can always upgrade to a SSD. I'd also look at a good external monitor for your 'home' studio - I have the Apple Thunderbolt Display (which I've not even taken out of the box yet) but I'd ask for recommendations for a less expensive monitor if you don't need all the extra ports on the ATD.
That's my recommendation - video editing can take a toll on the CPU and, particularly, the hard drive. That's why I recommend the fastest processor you can get and the possible move to a SSD.
    Good luck,

  • What is the best Macbook for me? (Music producer)

    Hello.
I'm looking for the perfect Macbook for which I can use for recording vocals and producing instrumental beats. It is highly important that the music software, which I use, will run smoothly and quickly.
Thanks a lot and I hope you can help!

This is not the place, it is the Pages forum.
Go to an Apple Store and try what is available, it is not a big range. Any model would do the job, all you need is good external storage.

  • What is the best macbook pro backpack

I am wanting to purchase a macbook pro 13' backpack and i am frustrated with looking so which one is best to keet an mac iphone and ipad in?

When it comes to the best it's impossible to beat the quality produced by Brentheaven. Would Apple feature more Brenthaven products on thier site than any other if they weren't amazing? As far as backpacks for the Macbook Pro the Brenthaven ProStyle Backpack is the top of the line for quality and protection.

  • What's the best MacBook for basic graphic editing?

    Hi there,
I've been saving up to finally get a MacBook after having a pro during university (stupidly it got soaked in my bag during a thunderstorm and didn't have any insurance on it). However, I'm trying to save as much money as I can so can't afford the high end laptops.
All I need for the MacBook to do is run the following programs without it becoming slow in the long run:
    Adobe Photoshop CC
    Adobe Dreamweaver CC
    Adobe InDesign CC
    Microsoft Office Home & Business
The basic system requirements for the Adobe CC programs are:
Multicore Intel processor with 64-bit support
    Mac OS X v10.7, v10.8, or v10.9
    2GB of RAM
    3.2GB of available hard-disk space
1280x1024 display with 16-bit video card
QuickTime 7.6.6 software required for HTML5 media playback
All I need it for is templating and editing newsletters as well as creative posters/flyers/brochures.
I'm deciding whether I should just get the basic 13-inch MacBook Air, 13-inch Macbook Pro (with Retina display) or 2.5GHz Mac mini? Bear in mind that I'll have to purchase the Micrsoft Office program (approx. £157 on Amazon) & get a screen/keyboard/mouse with the Mac Mini).
I have around £1,000 to spend and really unsure as to what to buy.
Please note, I am not interested in buying a Windows equivelant (as I cannot stand Windows 8/8.1).
    Thanks!

Any of those Macs will meet the basic specs for Office and Adobe. The real question is how you configure what you buy, based on how you are going to use the programs. The system requirements listed are definitely basic. They are about as basic as saying that you could buy a 2-seater Smart Car as your transportation: You could, but you'd be very limited in what you could do.
If you are going to run any one program at a time, the base model of any of those Macs (4GB RAM) will be fine. But working on newsletters and flyers, for efficiency's sake you will probably have more than one program open at a time: Word for preparing text, Photoshop for preparing photos, and Dreamweaver or InDesign where you lay it all out, going back and forth between them. That increases your RAM needs. 8GB would be a good place to be, but if you can afford to buy with the maximum amount of RAM that would help future-proof the Mac (since future versions of software always need more RAM, not less).
Having more RAM is more critical if you plan to use Photoshop for fancy stuff like cameras with lots of megapixels, raw editing, panoramas, HDR, or 3D. If you are just doing basic photo editing, 8GB RAM is fine. The other software you listed doesn't need as much RAM so more than one of them will run fine together under 8GB RAM.
If you get a MacBook Air or MacBook Pro, they start with only 128GB storage and it cannot be upgraded. That might not be enough space in the long run if you use a lot of graphics files and photos, so think about specifying at least 256GB storage in whatever you buy if your newsletter projects are large and you don't want to store them on external drives. The Mac mini starts out with a nice big hard drive.
What it will probably come down to is, spec out all three models you are considering with at least 8GB RAM and as much storage as you will need during the life of the computer, then pick the one that fits your budget. If you need portability, cross off the Mac mini.

  • What is the best Macbook to get?

I am in high school and I need a computer to be able to take to school.  I do not care about weight and would like a good charge on the laptop.  There are no good guides for choosing one.

  • What's the best MacBook to get for dual boot (SL & Lion)

I want to get a MacBook pro i7 13" that I can set up with both a Snow Leopard & a Lion boot partition so I can test apps on both. (Plus maybe add a bootcamp partition).
Can I just buy a new machine with Lion and be able to repartition and add Snow Leopard, or should I look for a previous generation one.  (I'd like to configure it with an SSID and max out the RAM. I also want to be able to hook up an external monitor to it).
Are there any "gotchas" I need to worry about.
    Thx
    Frank

If you create a Boot Camp partition, then you can only have it and the OS X partition. You cannot add a third partition. If you do then Boot Camp can no longer restore your disk if needed.
Not all of the newest Macs are able to run Snow Leopard or require a version of Snow Leopard that is not publicly available.
You can find out all the rest by just going to the Apple Store and examining the technical specs for each model.

  • What is the best MacBook Pro for me? (Budget = 1500$)

Hello guys, I am looking forward for buying a new MacBook Pro. But I don't know which one. I want a 13 inch model that can run very good. In 2010 I bought a MacBook White and I should probably say that it was worth every penny I spent. I loved it so much but this year the trackpad would not move, lagging is an issue but it still works fine now. I want to buy a new MacBook Pro that is good.
I will use it for the following :
    - Microsoft Word / google docs
    - Photoshop
    - Game programming
    - Gaming (League of Legends, Football Manager 2014/15/16/17)
    - Programming
    - Researching ( EXTREMELY IMPORTANT)
    - Homework
    - And personal use (Facebook, and surfing the web)
My budget is 1500$, okease answer as fast as you can!!

    givemethemac,
if you still have your white MacBook, then it seems like fixing its trackpad and installing more RAM and/or replacing its hard disk with a SSD would cost significantly less than $1500. It sounds as though if the trackpad were fixed and the lagging were resolved, that you would still be happy to use it.

  • What is the best Macbook Pro for 3Ds Max?

I've been searching the ideal laptop for my job. My software is Autodesk 3DS Max. I know it's for Windows but my friends use the same software and they're using Macbook Pro bootcamp as well but it crashed every now & then. I need a laptop that is light weight, has a video card and a screen that is perfect for graphics. Reviews on the Macbook Pro Retina are quite positive but I read about the ghost screen, lags etc. :-/

The 13 inch wont do you much good in terms of Graphic rendering and transcoding for the following apps, AutoCAD, FCS, Premiere CS5.  The 15" however has a dedicated GPU and also an integrated GPU, if I were you I would go for the high-end 15" Macbook Pro.  Just look at the specs.....

  • What is the best imac temperature monitor program

    24 inch iMac (OS X 10.6.8, 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4GB 1067 MHz DDR3)
The cooling fans do not appear to come on, ever.  BUT the other day after a shut down (normally leave the unit sleeping) the fan (or fans) came on apparently a full speed. At the next wake-up the fan did not come on.  Did shut-down and and the fans did not work at the power up.   I have always though that this unit has run hot, has never had any air flow and the top is always very warm.
What can I do to make the fans operate (settings ?) 2. are there programs that can monitor internal iMac temps.
    thanks

Be wary of cnet downloads page links, as there are several there which
DO NOT get you the software you seek, and can instead load adware or
other malware; you can check the outdated version iStat Pro version is
no longer available from the maker directly, over a year ago.
There are a few relatively safe/r mirror sites available that appear to have
the original size file that can get you a clean (as of earlier this year) copy.
While I checked this, six months ago, I didn't save the link because I have
an original copy in archive as .zip from the maker's site two years ago. And
then again, in the Lounge discussions I checked into this topic again:
A link I found in August 2014 that appears to have provided me a clean
iStat Pro v. 4.92 download (1MB zip) still works at this mirror...
    http://mac.majorgeeks.com/mg/getmirror/istat_pro,1.html
    {Test the size of the file, what downloads and opens, to be sure that's all it is.}
PS: the ifixit.com site may have a repair guide that could be helpful in
cleaning dust out of the cooling fan; however the fan may be defective.
Good luck & hopefully your download won't include spigot or other adware.

  • What is the best Macbook case/bag under 50$?

...and why do you think so?

    I like incase

(those 2 come in different colors too)
    But let me say this:
I have a Targus bag, and it's about medium size. I find it too big. Sleves are nice, but don't leave you any room. That's why I am going to find a slim case but with a handle and a pocect or too, just for CDs and a charger- or mouse. I have not spent too much time looking for cases, but there are soooo many out there- I am sure there is one for you. Also make sure the case is light. You don't actually realize how mich these things caan wieghuntil you use them. Another thing about small cases, they prevent you from throwing extra junk into the case. I end up putting, oh this in "just in case" and this in "just in case" And pretty soon the case is very heavy. I know know I will never need an extra USB cable- or the telephone cord.
    That's just my opinion.

  • The best MacBook for video production

    Hello,
I want to start working on video production (from camera shooting to video editing and compositing).
As a first step, mobility is very important, so I want to know what is the best MacBook to start with (best price/performance ratio)?
Also is Final Cut Studio package all I need for video production?
    Thanks!

Have you ever worked with video before?
What software do you intend to use? What formats will you acquire, edit, output?
Do you intend to make money from this or is it a hobby?
If you intend to make money from your efforts, do you have a capitalization plan and have you talked to your banker? Do you have a business plan in place that has been vetted by knowledgeable people?
Head down to your local library and pull anything you can find in the business section regarding starting a small business then read what ever you can get your hands on about video production. Then, walk over to the public access channel and sign up for one of their "intro to video" sessions.
Honestly, the speed of the laptop is the least of your concerns.
On the other hand, if this is just a way to play, purchase whatever you want.
