What is the best place to print an indesign book?

I'm considering purchasing InDesign. I love photoshop, but I spend a lot of time making books to archive our family's photos and happenings. In the past I have used software provided from the publisher to design and print these books. If I use indesign, I'm wondering where the best place is to print a good quality 12X12 book. Thank you!

If you've been working with a printer you like, ask them if they can accept files made with ID, pr4eferably PDFs you export.
My personal bias is toward working with a local printshop however. I like being able to walk in the door and talk to the people doing the work. They value my business more than the internet guys, too.

I ask because i would always have speeds above 750 kbps but now im not getting more than 400kbps after i updated to 2.0.2 . I just wanna double check that my speeds actually did suddenly drop with the update.

I am not sure these numbers are good, but I did some tests on my phone with different settings. All bars full on both Wifi, 3G and Edge using Telia here in northern Sweden (using above site):
Wifi Download: 4.25 Mbps (4245 Kbps / 518 kB/s) transferred 2304 KB in 4.4 sec.
Wifi Upload: 0.9 Mbps (972 Kbps / 119 kB/s) transferred 512 KB in 4.31 sec.
3G Download: 1.17 Mbps (1177 Kbps / 143 kB/s) transferred 1280 KB in 8.9 sec.
3G Upload: 0.16 Mbps (156 Kbps / 19 kB/s) transferred 512 KB in 26.81 sec.
Edge Download: 0.2 Mbps (199 Kbps / 24 kB/s) transferred 256 KB in 10.5 sec.
Edge Upload: 0.06 Mbps (60 Kbps / 7 kB/s) transferred 256 KB in 34.8 sec.
Maybe the numbers would be different if there were a similar test site in Europe, as I often find any speed tests depends on the physical location of the test server.

If you have used FreeHand before it is sill FreeHand of
course - as long as it works in our OS and there are no new
features you like to use.
If you have documents with a lot of text elements and
multiple pages InDesign may be the second best choice. For
typography it is the best tool available.
Illustrator is more for illustrations, although it seems that
it has good control for type it is clumsy and there are a few major
bugs that makes it unsuitable for body text.

The best and easiest is to use the iPad's built-in AirPrint system with an AirPrint-capable printer. <iOS: AirPrint 101>
If you do not have an AirPrint-capable printer, all printing Apps are a compromise. I have an HP non-AirPrint printer connected to my WiFi router. The free HP App, ePrint Home & Biz works OK with photos.
Print n Share and PrintCentral each have their own browser, mail, text and photo programs that work well with the printer, but they can only be accessed from within other programs that have the "Open In" option. (So far, I think GoodReader is the only App I have with that option.)
You can run a program like Printopia or FingerPrint on your computer that will share its printer as AirPrint over WiFi. They both are reported to work well. However your computer must be on and awake any time you want to print. <Printopia for Macintosh> <FingerPrint for PC and Mac>

The Epson Mobilelink P60 series and the Star Micronics T300 will work over wi-fi, but not being AirPrinter printers you'll have to find a third-party printing app that will work with them. The Epson P60 now also supports printing via Bluetooth, according to Epson:

I have already looked at other threads in this forum, so 'I venture forth' to ask my question here:
I have a 44 minute carefully edited iMovie with several chapter markers. I dimly recollect that when you 'dump' the entire movie into iDVD (my version is 7.1) it should detect the markers and create buttons to link to specific scenes. Well, the 'dumping' process obviously doesn't work.
How do you get iDVD to recognize the markers and ceate buttons to link?
I can create with iDVD a DVD that will play the movie in its entirety. This is not suitable for my purposes. I need access via a menu to specific scenes.

It's technically an enterprise (fancy word for commercial) printer, and there for has a commercial warranty attached to it, which is a very good thing. This also has dual trays with automatic tray switching depending on the media type. That means you can keep the transparencies in one tray, and plain paper for everyday printing in the other without having to switch between the two manually. This printer also supports 1200 x 1200 dpi (dots per inch) which will give the transparencies a clear crisp look.
average price:HP LaserJet Pro 400 color MFP M475dn This is about the middle of the road laser printer. It's still technically an enterprise printer, so you get the enterprise level warranty, and you still get the dual trays with auto-switching. The main differences are in the price, and in the quality of prints. This printer is much cheaper, but the maximum dpi is 600 x 600 so the images that print are not quite as good as with the M575dn.
low price: HP LaserJet Pro 100 color MFP M175nw This is not the bottom of the line by any means, but it's not as fast at printing as the two above.
