Personally, I like the Heavy Duty Supcase. There are a lot of other options out there but this one is less than $20 and had excellent reviews.

Get something with both USB and Firewire connections, as big as you can afford. Format it Fat 32, plug it into the XP machine with USB, drag and drop the files you want to keep, plug it into the iMac with Firewire, drag and drop again. If you want to use it just to back up your Mac in future, reformat it Mac OS Extended and enable Time Machine. If you're likely to want to share the drive with Windows PCs in future, leave it Fat 32.

So do I have to hook up an Ethernet cable to both the Uverse AND my computer from the Time Capsule?
I'm not sure that I understand everything that you want to do and where devices will be located.
The Time Capsule must connect to the "main" Uverse router using a permanent, wired Ethernet cable connection. An Ethernet cable can be run up to 300+ feet with virtually no loss, so you should be able to locate the Time Capsule wherever you want.....unless you have a very large estate.
If you want the Time Capsule to strengthen the wireless signal provided by the Uverse router, then the Time Capsule must be located in the area where you need that additional signal strength.
If I understand your post correctly, you plan to install the Time Capsule in the office? When you do this, you can configure the Time Capsule to create a wireless signal that uses the exact same wireless network name and password as the Uverse wireless network.
That will provide a much stronger signal for your Uverse wireless network in the office area. Hopefully, the bedroom that you mention is close to the office, so it will pick up the stronger wireless signal from the Time Capsule.
The iMac in the office can connect to the Time Capsule using another short Ethernet cable connection, or the iMac can connect using wireless. A wired connection is always preferred, if possible.
At this point, I guess the first question would be.......
Do you have a location for the Time Capsule that will be close to the office....and...the bedroom where you want a stronger wireless signal?

Mark, yes a DVD will play back on a HDTV, just the quality will not match the capability of the playback device. This is certainly the easiest approach though.
As the article you referenced says, ensuring that your previews are set to a larger pixel dimension than your required output will ensure maximum quality, given that you will more than likely have movement on the images in the slide show I would suggest going with pixel dimensions that are at least 1920px.

Can we merge our ID's into one and transfer all our payments? We just registered for icloud and used a new shared email address, but still have our separate apple ID's. We have separate email addresses, calendars and notes that we would prefer to keep separate. It's really just our itunes purchases, music and photos that we want to be able to share. They will be able to download everything that was bought with their Apple ID. If they all shared an ID then they switched to their own ID they won't be able to use any apps or music bought with another Apple ID. As I explained in my previous response. There is only one way to share apps and content across multiple Apple ID's and that is home share. So, NO there isn't a "Smooth" way to do it.

We are using a Sony HDV-Z7U camera for acquisition. We recently recorded an event using the camera's non HD capabilities. We set the camera to record "DV SP" 16x9 settings on both Mini-DV tape and CF card.
To import the DV SP footage into FCP7 we chose the "DV NTSC anamorphic" setting in the log and transfer settings window. After a successful transfer from the CF card (the CF card held approximately 83 minutes) we checked the size of the file and found it to be 16 Gigs! Why so big? An 83 miniDV tape shot in SD should easily fit on a standard 4.7 gig MPEG2 DVD.
We need to burn DVDs of this show - we sent it to compressor and got horrible quality.

No it doesn't. DV is 13GB per hour.
In any case, a Video DVD uses the MPEG 2 codec, not DV.

Use the Compressor DVD preset "Best Quality 90 mins".

Not going to happen, you are compressing by a factor of 1:4. Shooting as HDV would have given you better quality material to start with. DV is at the bottom end of the scale.

The Client needs Clasifications and Search of the documents in Case Management, the number of documents could be 1,000, 000 aprox...
I thing are 2 options :
1) The documents are stored in CRM Repositories, and KM access him, (I know this is posible using WebDAV repositories), but I do not know if this could affects in some way the process in Case Management. And if CRM repositories can store the huge volume of documents.
2) The documents are stored in KM Repositories, and CRM access him.
     -¿Is this posible?.
     -¿CRM can access the documents without problem?
     -How can store the documents to KM on line from CRM Case Management?

It sounds like you would like to use either your Personal HotSpot to AirPrint from your MacBook Pro or use an Airport to do so without internet access to the home. According to the following Featured Discussion you very well may be able to use AirPrint with Personal HotSpot:

What is the best way to manage tasks. I have moved from a pc with outlook and have lost 'tasks' in that programme. Do I have to rely on ical or can I download an app to manage business tasks?

iCal does have reminders but its implementation of tasks is pretty wimpy. There are a number of programs that are better geared to the job. I was a level 4 procrastinator until I discovered Getting Things Done and for me Things is perfect. It lets me handle projects which are dependent upon multiple tasks in a no-nonsense easy fashion. Much less expensive and really not much more than a list maker is Wunderlist. Thankfully there's a ton of shareware offerings - check out MacUpdate.com and see what works for you.

hopefully a quick one, anyone know what the best way to perform a case-insensitive search is? at the moment many of our stored procedures perform selects against un-indexed fields (e.g. product title) and to avoid casing problems we have an UPPER around the field name and the variable e.g.

This seems to work just fine but on a large catalogue (10 million+) it can take 50-60 seconds to return.

create or replace index fn_idx on prodtable (upper(nvctitle));

or you could use regular expressions. REGEXP_LIKE allows for case insensitive like searches.

What is the best way to setup a premiere sequence for export when mixing 24fps (CG) and 23.976fps (live action) for final output at 23.976 (vimeo and such).
Right now my sequence is at 24fps, and when I export to 23.976, my dialogues seem to shift.
Should I set my sequence at 23.976fps instead of 24fps?

That makes it easy. Remove the CGs from the project. Go to Edit>Preferences>Media... and set the Indeterminate Media Timebase to 23.976. Then when you import the image sequence, PP will assign it the correct frame rate.
Edit in a 23.976 sequence.

I am planning to implement NAC at my customer site, I have only one NAM and one NAS, the customer has WLC, IP Telephony, campus users and VPN customers.
what is the best mode that can fit implementing the above four areas ? is it possible that one mode can serve all of them ?
I have understood that implementing posture assessment for VPN customers means that I should go for OOB+L3
if I want to implement the posture assessment for the campus users then it is recommended to go for OOB+VG since the subnet of the authentication vlan and the trusted VLAN will not change.
If I want to assess the WLC users then I have to go for IB mode , but if I go for inband mode then I will create bottle neck in my customer's network.
should I tell my customer that he needs to buy another NAS to be dedicated as IB for the WLC users ?
I am confused and I need your advise.
