I am a new mac user and I switch to mac due to the graphics that it brings. I do website in pc and I heard iweb is the best.NOW i heard that iweb will be discontinue. so what is the best application there for website using MAC OSX lion?
It is now confirmed that iWeb, and iDVD, has been discontinued by Apple. This is evidenced by the fact that new Macs are shipping with iLife 11 installed but without iWeb and iDVD.
On June 30, 2012 MobileMe will be shutdown. However, iWeb will still continue to work but without the following:
Features No Longer Available Once MobileMe is Discontinued:
◼ Password protection
◼ Blog and photo comments
◼ Blog search
◼ Hit counter
◼ MobileMe Gallery
All of these features can be replaced with 3rd party options.
I found that if I published my site to a folder on my hard drive and then uploaded with a 3rd party FTP client subscriptions to slideshows and the RSS feed were broken. If I published directly from iWeb to the FPT server those two features continued to work correctly.
There's another problem and that's with iWeb's popup slideshows. Once the MMe servers are no longer online the popup slideshow buttons will not display their images.
However, Roddy McKay and I have figured out a way to modify existing sites with those slideshows and iWeb itself so that those images will display as expected once MobileMe servers are gone. How to is described in this tutorial: #26 - How to Modify iWeb So Popup Slideshows Will Work After MobileMe is Discontinued.
It now appears that the iLife suite of applications offered on disc is now a discontinued product and the remaining supported iApps will only be available thru the App Store from now on. However, the iLife 11 boxed version that is still available at the online Apple Store (Store button at the top of the page) and those still on the shelves of retailers will include iWeb and iDVD. Those two apps were listed in small, gray text on the iLife 11 box that I bought.
Personally, if I didn't already have a copy I would purchase one to have it for reinstallation purposes if ever needed.

What is the best Business tax software to use on MACs
What is the best Business tax software to use on MACs?
Get rid of Norton a/k/a Symantec. It is one of the worst pieces of trash you can install on a Mac.
You do not need any additional anti-virus software than is already designed into OS X to protect your Mac against malware. I assume you paid enough for your iMac and that's part of what you paid.
If you use Windows, or are concerned about harboring viruses that target Windows, or care about friends who use Windows, then get ClamXav. It's in the App Store and it is free.
Since friends don't let friends use Windows, I have no use for it. -
What's the best way to backup DFS using DPM 2010?
We setup DFS on two Windows 2012 R2 and they are hosting files. What’s the best way to backup DFS using DPM 2010?
1. When doing data backup, do we backup both dfs01 and dfs02? Or just backup one of them?
2. Beside the data, what do we need to backup?
Bob Lin, MCSE & CNE Networking, Internet, Routing, VPN Networking, Internet, Routing, VPN Troubleshooting on http://www.ChicagoTech.net How to Install and Configure Windows, VMware, Virtualization and Cisco on http://www.HowToNetworking.comProtecting Data in DFS Namespaces
Backup files and BRM of dfs01 and dfs2 for minimaze traffic.
If dfs01 and dfs02 have good channel width that use DPM to only protect a single “copy” of the data located on a server-specific local path.

I have 70 videos I use in my work and want to import them into my IPad2. What is the best third party converter to use?
There is Handbrake (http://handbrake.fr) - aren't the videos compatible with iTunes on your computer, if they are then you can always do Advanced > Create iPad Version if they don't currently sync to the iPad. There are also a number of third-party iPad apps that support other video formats

What is the best online backup system to use for Mac?
What is the best online backup system to use for mac?
By online, do you mean backup to the cloud, where you pay a monthly fee for the service to host your data?
If this is the case, then there are a lot of services (do not know them all, but DropBox, CrashPlan, Carbonite, Mozy, SugarSync, come to mine, and that is not a complete list.
There are also services that allow you to backup over your home network or across the internet to your own storage. CrashPlan has this option (for free), and Transporter come to mind. CrashPlan talks to another computer also running CrashPlan that you own or have some control (could even be a friend or relatives computer). Transporter is hardware that you either provide some storage of your choice, or they will sell the unit with storage.
I'm mostly a CrashPlan to my own storage user. I backup to a Mac mini for my Mom (300 miles away) and Wife (she is local )
Can clarify your exact desires or needs. -

What's the Best Open Source DB for use with Kodo?
Hi everyone,
In terms of ease of setup and use, tools to view info in the database, and least difficulty in
running with Kodo, what is the best open source database to use? I'm use to using Oracle and
SQLPlus. I need to use an open source DB for a learning environment, and I'd like your informed
opinion.
Thanks,
David EzzioI have been using postgresql 7.1 with Kodo for a while with mostly positive results, and currently
have it deployed with Kodo 2.2.3. I prefer it to mysql because its feature set is a little richer,
and supports transactions natively. My experience with mysql (without jdo - I haven't tried it with)
is good, but there were little things missing in mysql 3.x, e.g. the ability do do a join in a
DELETE statement.
BTW, there are some severe problems somewhere in the 2.2.4 release with postgresql if you intend to
eventually deploy on it. It also apparently has some problems invoking postgresql's indices, making
it a little less than optimal. But as a learning environment, it's what I'd recommend.

Here is the rundown of the databases I have experience with:
MySQL: Fairly simple to install (especially if you run Debian Linux), but
configuration, especially adding users, can be a pain. A separate open
source project called "mysql-navigator" makes it fairly easy to do
simple queries, inserts, etc. In most of my tests it outperforms
PostgreSQL, but your mileage will vary. It has a sane CLI that supports
modern features like line history, etc (unlike the horrific SQLPlus).
PostgreSQL: People often say that it is a more "academically
correct" database than MySQL. I've also found it to be quite a bit
easier to set up. Their GUI (called "pgaccess") is simplistic, but does
most things you need. Has a CLI similiar to MySQL's.
HypersonicSQL: By far the easiest to set up (just drop the jar in your
CLASSPATH), but is java only, can be rather slow, and has no GUI tools
available that I know of (except various free vanilla-JDBC GUI tools).
We feel that Kodo works quite well with all these DBs. The MySQL JDBC
driver seems a bit less buggy than Postgres', but their transaction
support is very recent and not very well tested. If I had to pick one or
the other, I would probably go with MySQL.

What's the best migration tool to be used from sybase 12.5.3 to Oracle12c? Thanks!
Hi,
If you have access to My Oracle Support then review this note for alternatives -
How To Migrate Non-Oracle Databases For Which a SQL*Developer or Migration Workbench Option Is Not Available (Doc ID 393760.1)
For example, you could use a gateway and connect to Sybase then copy table to Oracle, but this won't do things like move stored procedures etc and you would have to move these manually.
Load the non-Oracle data into flat files and use SQL*Loader to put the data into Oracle tables. Again manual work is required for the other objects.
In Oracle 12c there will be additional features to help migrate from non-Oracle databases.
In the 12c documentation there is a migration guide:
Oracle® Database Migration Guide 12c Release 1 (12.1)
http://st-doc.us.oracle.com/12/121/gateways.121/e22508/migr_tools_feat.htm#sthref8
It lists steps as possible solutions how to migrate from a foreign database to Oracle in the section:
Other Oracle Products that Enable Migration
There may also be third party tools but Oracle only provide SQL*Developer.
Is there any particular reason why you don't want to use SQL*Developer ?
