What is the best way to manage Videos from the iPhone 3GS

I want manage videos like pictures.
All vids is stored in my iPhoto Library.
What is the best way to sync them ?

iPhoto supports importing photos and videos from a digital camera that supports capturing video as well as photos.
If the videos were deleted from your iPhone after the iPhoto import process was complete, and you want to transfer a video or videos back to your iPhone for viewing, you need to transfer the videos to iTunes that you want transfered to your iPhone via the iTunes sync process as with any other video.

  • Best way to manage video

hi, i just got a video iPod (30GB) for my birthday and i want to know the best way to put video's on my iPod. i have many of my video's in a quicktime format on my external hard drive therefore i do not want them in iTunes, but i do what them on my iPod?
    thanks

    Hi Macmanman,
(i have many of my video's in a quicktime format )
That doesn't guarantee that they will play on your ipod - they should be in mp4 format for an ipod to recognise them. If they are not you can open them in Quicktime and export them to that format or there are various third party applications that will convert to iPod friendly formats - 'Viddyup' 'VisualHub' and 'iSquint' which is free - you can get it here:

(i do not want them in iTunes, but i do what them on my iPod?)
They have to be in iTunes in order for your iPod to sync with them - this doesn't mean that you have to move them from your external drive, however.
if you open iTunes and choose preferences from the menu, under Advanced deselect 'copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library' This will add the movies to iTunes but leave the files on your ex drive. Remember to change the preference back when your done.

  • Is there a way to move music from my Iphone 3gs to the Itunes on my computer without deleting it?

Is there a way to move music from my Iphoe 3GS to the Itunes on my Windows 7 laptop? The hard drive of the laptop had been corrupted so it was replaced which makes the computer now register as being a new one alltogether.

If you still have the old drive you (or a helpful friend) may be able put it in an external drive bay and extract your iTunes library and other personal data from it. Otherwise see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

  • What is the best way to manage storage on iPad & iPhone?

My biggest usage is in photos.  In general, should I be storing music & pictures on my new macbook & only leaving "important" items on the mobile devices?  Is there a way to make this backup/transfer automatic?  I know these are basic questions, but I only encountered it when wanting to upgrade to IOS7 on the iPad.  Thanks for any insight you might have!

If you have both a macbook and an ipad than I would use your macbook as your main storage device. With icloud set up, you can sync your photos that you take on the ipad to the mac and then delete the unwanted ones on your ipad as needed.
Your main music library should also be on your mac. Then sync the music you want form itunes to your ipad, as needed.
Backups can be set up to be fairly automatic, but it backs up your ipad in one file, in case you need to restore your ipad. (you can't access individual files within the backup, such as photos)
If youre trying to do clear up space on your ipad, then yes, photos, videos and music is the place to start.
Unfortunately, itunes syncing is a one-way transfer process from the mac to your ipad, not the other way.
There are however, plenty of apps and services that can help you do this however.
Start with the built in iphoto app on your mac

If you have music on your ipad that was downloaded directly from the itunes store, you can delete them and download them again from the itunes store directly to your mac's itunes library. (you wont be charge again, same for apps)

  • What's the best way to print pictures from my iPhone?

I have a lot of pictures on my iPhone 3G and iPhone 4S and a few on my iPad 2 and they're taking up a lot of space, what's the best way for me to print them out?

Import them to your computer and use your computer's photo app to print them.  Once they have been imported, you can delete them from your phone.
See this for instructions:  Copying personal photos and videos from iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch to your computer, http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083

  • Easiest (and best) way to stream video from iMac to TV

    All,
Trying to look for the highest quality, easiest & least expensive ways to get HD video from my iMac to my TV.
I could run wire - but that's sloppy, and a pain in the butt. Probably least expensive though.
Could get a Mac mini - but that's expensive.
Looking into getting a USB device (they sell them on TigerDirect.com) that beams the signal to a receiver - but they seem to be Windows based.
I do have a PS3 & XBOX360, and I know there are some programs out there to do this, but I've never been satisfied with the quality - major stalling or streaming issues gumming up the entertainment.
Can you folks weigh in with your tips, tricks or suggestions?
    Thanks.

how about *powerline adapters* _*such as these*_ ?

how about an TV ? there should even be refurbished units available from your local Apple online store.

  • For windows users,  best way to transfer photos from old iphone to new iphone

I have a friend who just purchased new iphone and she'd like to transfer photos from old iphone to new iphone.
What is the best steps for her to take?
    She has a Windows machine.
    thanks in advance!!!

Make sure iTunes is loaded on the PC
If all she wants are photos, she has to have the photos on her PC, not just on the old phone.  The old iPhone backup doesn't save the actual photos, just the setting pointing to where the photos came from.
If the photos are on her PC, your should be able to sync them to the new iPhone with the Photos tab in iTunes (after the new phone is plugged in).
If the photos aren't on her computer, she can copy them from whatever computer has them (assuming she has access to it).

  • What is the best way to transfer video from a Panasonic HDC-SD60 camcorder on to a DVD using iDVD?

I am trying to get my Panasonic HDC-SD60 camcorder to transfer video over to a DVD using iDVD.  The iDVD wants the firewire connection to be used,  No mini USB to firewire line exists.  Any help?

iDVD is part of the iLife suite of apps.
in this collection, iMovie is the 'importer', esp. via usb from AVCHD-devices like yours.
plus editor, I mostly doubt, you haven't to 'clean' here&there your recordings
from there you 'share' to iDVD.
you'll notice a loss of quality in this process due to  cam is HDef, any videoDVD is always SDef .....

  • How do i transfer video from my iphone 3gs with ios5 to my mac?

I've recently shot to videos that are to big to email.
How do I import the video or isn't it possible?
I've tried with itunes, imovie, iphoto and image capture, but my phone only shows up as a device in itunes.
    Anybody got any ideas?

You can't do videos with Photo Stream, so you're saying that neither iPhoto or Image capture see your phone as a camera, correct? In your iPhone camera roll, do you have both pics & videos, or just videos? If you have pics in the camera roll, were they all shot using the phone's camera, or were any saved from emails or web sites?

  • What is the best way to upload videos to your PC.

What is the best way to download videos from your iphone to your PC.

There's no "best" way per se, and there's differences depending on what application created the video.  If you used the standard Camera app to take the video, simply connect your phone to your computer, after iTunes syncs you can close iTunes or minimize it, and open My Computer (Windows XP) or Computer (Windows Vista/7), and in the folder window you'll see a removable device called iPhone with a camera icon.  When you open that window, you'll see the contents of your Camera Roll where you can cut or copy the item, then paste onto Desktop or into another folder.  Other applications have different methods.  Some save to the Camera Roll so you can move those the same way, others, like iMovie, you have to first "share" the video to your Camera Roll after the film is complete, then remove the same way.  Other apps, like Silent Film for example, set up an FTP connection to your LAN and you retrieve the video via an FTP client (or a web browser as web browsers can log into FTP connections).
    Hope that helps.

  • Whats the best way to manage 100s of thumbnails?

I'm trying to build a simple photo management app in java, like Picasa2. I want to be able to scroll through 100s of thumbnails. Whats the best way to manage them from a memory standpoint?
    a) can I load up 100s of thumbnails into a JScrollPane? If so, will it do anything special to manage memory for the thumbnails that are offscreen?
    b) should I just draw up a grid of JLabels and page through them like you would in html?
Is there another approach? Is there any special way to manage the thumbnails that are offscreen (besides loading them all in memory ) and still get a fast response time?
BTW, if anyone wants to join me in this project, I'm happy to opensource and share.

Because for some of us, it takes a lot longer than 5 mins. Besides, I was on someone else's computer.
Regardless, I've implemented JList for images, and it works really well. For those of you who are following in my footsteps, the answer is:
    JList renders ImageIcons by default.
If you want to render a JLabel with an ImageIcon set to an image, you need to write a custom ListCellRenderer, but it turns out that is not too hard. But here is a follow-up problem:
My app has JLabels that subscribe to an ImageLoader that loads images in the background. On init() the JLabel just has the ImageIcon set to a placeholder image:
              myJLabel.imgIcon = new ImageIcon();
              myJLabel.imgIcon.setImage( myPlaceholderImage );
However, once the actual image is loaded, I call a refresh method to set the ImageIcon to a new image:
              myJLabel.imgIcon.setImage( myLoadedBufferedImage );
My problem is getting the JList to render the updated JLabel. Right now, I keep a reference to the JList with myJLabel and call revalidate() on refresh, but that doesn't seem very clean.
Is there an easy/natural place to get the JList to revalidate()?
Can I easily know which JLabels are in the viewport of the JList scrollpane? That way I could revalidate only the visible JLabels or when scrolling.

  • Best ways to embed Video??

What is teh best way to embed video in DW? Quicktime, WMV,
streaming? I have tried a few with varing results across different
    browsers...
And suggestions - I have seen some very cool interfaces out
there but sadly the source for the player interfaces I cannot
    find..
    Any help would be appreciated..
I need the ability to set auto play or not - and other
options for video in the browser window or at least in DW.
    Thanks in advance

If you have the entire Studio, I would definitely convert to
    Flash Video and
use the DW Insert/Flash Video dialogue to insert it. You have
    a choice of
skins and you can set a lot of options .. surely the ones you
    mention. Best
part is Flash Video is crystal clear with the ON2 codec in
    Flash 8 and you
won't believe how small the file is, compared to the other
    options.

  • What is the best way to manage the file space given how much GB the video clips use up?

I just downloaded a years worth of video off my HD camera.  I took up 125 GB on my hard drive.  What is the best way to manage this content going forward as there will be a lot more video to come in future years with small children!

    rule of thumb:
    SDef ~13GBs/h
    HDef ~30-40GBs/h ...
    latest investment of mine:
ext.HDD, usb2 (=I have no trouble using usb2 for editing my short projects), 1.5TB=70€  ...
... which adds to ~4.2TB for my hobby, incl. back-up drives ...

  • What is the best way to manage multiple devices with one iMac - different users with seperate itunes accounts or one mac user with different itune logons and libraries?

    Hello
I have just purchased an imac which I am very happy with.  In our household we also have two iphones (one mine and one husbands) and one ipod (my sons). We all have individual itunes accounts set up on our previous computer (not a mac). We have sepereate apps and music, although there may be the odd occasion where we would like to share a song (if this is possible) across devices.
I am just wondering the best way to manage these devices using the new imac.  Should I create individual accounts to logon to the imac, then from within these launch our own itunes accounts and sync our devices with these.  Or should I be using one version of itunes, logging on to this with our different itunes usernames and storing things in libraries.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

I am presuming that we cannot share downloaded apps and music between accounts because of the copyright issue,
Though I'm no copyright lawyer, as long as it's within a household, you can share content among users. Such sharing is, absent specific language preventing it not present in the iTunes Store terms of use, generally considered to be "personal use". So you can share apps and music amongst your users on your computer and with their devices. You just can't give any of that content to friends or relatives who don't live with you.
What I am not clear on, it making sure that this appears in each itunes account - is it easy to find the file storage folders that match the itunes accounts and what would these be?
The iTunes library and files are by default in a user's Home/Music folder. But you don't have to find the folder; in fact putting a file into the folder yourself won't add the file to iTunes. Just drag the file into the iTunes window. iTunes will copy it to the correct location.
    Regards.
