What is the best way to Place/Embed/Link swf files to play in my Muse website?

I have some older swf files that I created and would love to have them play on my webpage in my Muse website. As soon as I use the place command to put them on a page, Muse crashes when I try and preview that page or publish the site. I'm new to Muse so maybe I should be using an alternate method of bringing those swf files in.
Also, I would like to use some of the Reallusion programs to create a "talking head" that introduces my website when visitors enter. But Crazy Talk 7 only seems to want to create avi files. What is the best way to get avi's to play in Muse? I have posted this question in the Flash forum also.
Is there a program in the Creative Suite package that would be better to use to create this talking head or a workflow that will make these videos usable on the pages of Muse?

  • What is the best way to export a .csv/.txt file to a MS Windows shared folder via a scheduled job?

What is the best way to export a .csv/.txt file to a MS Windows shared folder, when the export process is a scheduled job?

You can't directly, as scheduled jobs can only export to server-side data stores, which can only write to the landing area. You'll need to use an external script (e.g. batch file) to move the file from the landingarea after export. You can use an external task in the scheduled job to invoke the script.

  • What Is the best way to upload and download psd files from Photoshop to Photoshop Touch? [was:Re]

What Is the best way to up load and down load psd files from desktop photo shop to photo shop touch? For on the go touch up or. I'm using psd files at 90 percent 300 depi when in photo shop on desktop. To ps touch

    Hi Bford225,
I'd recommend using your favorite web browser and going to https://creative.adobe.com/files for uploading from the computer.
Keep in mind tablet capabilities are much less than a computer, so large files might take a long time to download and be very system intensive to work on. Although you can import files up to 12 megapixels I'd recommend something more mid range, like 6 or 7 megapixels, ie 2880 x 2160 or 3072 x 2304.
Also, PSD files are flattened when imported into Photoshop Touch.
    Hope that helps,

  • What is the best way to edit/sync two video files?

Has anyone had experience with editing 2 movies files?  I have recently taken video with 2 cameras of the same quality and am attempting to 'merge' the two video files.  What's the best way to 'sync' the 2 files?
    Thanks

The real answer is to do this in Final Cut Pro X with the new multicam feature with automatic syncing using the audio wave forms.
However, it is quite possible in iMovie.
Here is how I did it in iMovie.
I recently did this for a video of my niece's senior voice recital. (Video is below)
The key is to use the Cutaway feature of  iMovie. If you are not familiar with Cutaway, here is a good tutorial from Ken Stone.
I used the side camera as my base clips, and used the back camera as the cutaway clips. The back camera audio track was OK but had too much coughing and noise.
Here are tips for getting it lined up perfectly.
    1) In iMovie/Preferences make sure that you check "Display Time as hh:mm:ss:frames" so you can edit to the frame level. (Also, select "Show Advanced Tools so you get the Cutaway feature)
    2) In the iMovie Project View, set the thumbnail slider to 1/2 second so you have a great deal of control.
    3) Initially, leave the volume at 100% on the Cutaway track, so that both tracks are playing. You can hear when they are off.
    4) Click the "Waveforms" button in the Project view, so you get a visual cue of how to line up the tracks.
    5) Between the audible cues and the visual cues, you can nudge the cutaway back and forth one frame at a time by dragging until you have it perfect.
    6) When it is lined up to your satisfaction, set the volume slider of the Cutaway track to zero, and turn off the waveforms. You can also move the thumbnail slider back to 5 seconds or so.
    7) For some of the fine work, I switched to the "single row timeline view". This slows you down a bit, but lets you see the waveforms more clearly.
    8) I made heavy use of the iMovie Comment Marker feature. I watched the whole base video/audio track and inserted comment markers at the points where I wanted the Cutaway to begin and end. For example, a comment might say "Insert Cutaway 1". I would usually time the cutaway so it started at a distinct audio event, such as when the piano start. This comment marker made it easy to drag my cutaway to a point that was approximately correct.
    9) If you need to do a lot of cutaways, I find that it helps to use the SPLIT CLIP command in your project. This way you can have a single cutaway per clip, and this makes it easier to manage and is less processor and memory intensive for iMovie. I would use the comments to mark the entry and exit points of the cutaway as described above. I would then select that portion of the clip that included these markers plus a little more, so that a yellow border is around the selection. Then right-click/SPLIT CLIP (or CLIP/SPLIT CLIP in the top menu). This does not physically splt the clip within the Event. It only virtually splits the clip in the project.

  • What's the best way to master an MPEG 2 file for DVD Studio Pro.

In version 4.5 of FCP I was able to use QuickTime conversion to encode to MPEG2. Now that option is not there. I hate using compressor 2 to create MPEG 2 because when I do the MPEG 2 files always seem to studder and I don't know why. I shot my project in HDV. It is about 64 minutes long. Any suggestions on the BEST way to master an MPEG 2 file for DVD Studio pro? Thanks in advance!
    Peter
    PS - I'm using FCP 5

Some people have reported a field reversal problem with HDV to SD DVD encodes. There's an Apple technical document on this issue somewhere, but the problem was supposed to be addressed by a Pro Applications update a couple of years ago... This site might help you get to the bottom of the problem.

  • What is the best way to send large, HD video files from the iPad?

    Hello,
My department is looking to purchase between 50 and 150 new iPads. We hold conferences where participants take short, 3-minute videos of themselves in situations they have been trained for. The idea was that after they have taken the video, they could simply email these videos to themselves, negating the need to hook the device up to a computer, transfer the video over to a flash drive, and ensure that drive gets back to the right person.
Now that I have the first one, I'm finding any video longer than 45s or so can't be sent via email because it's too large.
    Are you kidding?
The file I was just able to send was 7.5MB. That's the biggest video I can send from this thing? Why even give us the ability to take HD video if we can't *do* anything with it?
    But, I digress.
What I'm looking for is the best way to get video off the iPads and into the hands of our participants. Are there apps on the App Store which might convert whatever video we take to an emailable size? I thought about setting everyone up with Apple IDs and having them use iMessage since there is no limit on file size, but of course you must own an Apple device in order to do that, and it still doesn't solve getting it on their computers.
Any help here would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

You could try uploading them to a joint dropbox account that they could then download them from....but how fast it is will depend on the internet connection available.

  • What's the best way to place images in table cells?

I'm working on a basic tooling catalog/list using a table for all of the information.  One of the columns is for an image of the tool.  Is there a way to place each image in a cell and have it resized to fit the cell dimensions (including my text inset settings)?  I'm using CS4 and the images are all tiff files, although I also have psd files of each.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Table cells don't adjust automatically except in the vertical direction when set to "at least" some dimension, and I suspect you don't really want that anyway. Keep in mind that column width is constant through the whole table, so fitting the cell to the largest image is going to give you a giant coumn width that isn't used for smaller product shots in the same table.
What about making an image frame the size you want, and setting the fitting options to fit proportionally? Copy that frame and paste into the cell, then place the image in the frame.

  • What is the best way to store data to a file? Serialization?

FYI: I am some what of a novice programer. I have almost finished my degree but everything I know about Java is self taught (never taken a course in java). Any way here is my question.
So I have an example program that I have created. It basically just has three textpanes which also have the ability to contain images. Now I would like to learn how to store data to a file for later retrieval and decided to use a program such as this as an example. I am not sure if I should use the serialization API that java has or some other means such as XML. If I used XML I was not sure how to store the image data that would be contained in the text panes. I figured serialization would take care of that if I just serialized my main class and then restored it. So That is that I tried first. Is this a good direction to go?
The problem I am having is that I cant seem to get the serialization to work the way I need it to. I am not sure what I am doing wrong because I have read many tutorials and looked at allot of example code but still dont understand. The tutorial I looked at most is [this one at IBM.|http://java.sun.com/developer/technicalArticles/Programming/serialization/]
The eclipse project folder for my example program can be found here:
    zipped version:
The main class is mainwindow.java. I know the source is kinda dirty. Any comments are welcome but I am most interested in how to solve this serialization problem. Thanks

What will the nature of the data be? Just a handful of strings? A bunch of objects of different types reflecting the current state of your program to great depth and complexity? Something else? The data will be what is contained in three text panes. Each text pane containing rich text and images. For an example take a look at the example program in my first post.
How will the data be used? Just write it out when the app shuts down, and read it all back in when it starts up? Do you need to query or search for specific subsets of the data? Is there any value in the stored form of the data being human-readable?Basically the data will need to be saved when the application shuts down or when the user selects save from the file menu. The data will be restored when the user opens the file from the file menu. It would be nice if the stored data is human readable but its not of primary importance.
How often will the data be written and read? How many reads/writes/bytes/etc. per second/minute? Not often. Just a simple open and save from the file menu.
How large could the data conceivably get?It will probably be a few paragraphs of formated text and less then a dozen images per text pane.
Will reading and writing of the data need to occur concurrently?no.
Do you need to add new data to the storage as your app goes along, or just replace what's there with the most current state?Replace with the most current state of the data.
If it's a simple read once at startup, write once at shutdown, overwriting the previous data, read only by your app, not by humans, then serialization via ObjectInput/OutputStream is probably the way to go. If there are other requirements, you may want to go with XML serialization, a DB, or some other solution. Thanks for the information. Serialization sounds like the way to go. Even if I end up using XML serialization in the end it would still be of interest to me to learn how to use serialization without xml.
I was trying to go with using serialization in be beginning but I cant seem to get it to work. Would you be willing to take a look at my example program. I attempted to implement serialization but it does not seem to work. Could you take a look and see what I am doing wrong. At this point I am stuck as i cant seem to get serialization to work.
I am going to go ahead and mark this thread as answered because I think I already got most of the information I was looking for except what I am doing wrong with my attempt as serialization.
Thank you jverd for your time.

  • What's the best way to deal with Canon pf24 files?

I'm working on a project shot mainly with Canon DSLR footage (1080p, 24fps.) But now I would like to add some footage from a Canon Camcorder recording in AVCHD format. It would seem to make the most sence to shoot at 24fps, or as Canon calls it pf24. The question is, is premiere or media encoder able to interpret the canon footage and do the proper 3-2 pulldown? Or should I record in 30fps (or pf30) and convert the footage to 24 fps in media encoder before adding it to my project? Keep in mind that I can't just shoot everything in 30p because the bulk of the project is already shot at 24p. Also, I am using CS6. Does anyone have experience with this? Thoughts?

Ed you are soo right!   PP does not automatically fix the problem by dropping the footage into a 24p AVCHD sequence.  If you have CS6 PP and AE you can use easily fix this ugly problem.
Excuse me why I step up on my soapbox - Adobe Premiere Pro development team -- please fix this @$%& problem asap!!!!  The PP Interpret footage function is a joke without it!
The best solution I could come up with after investing a ton of time into this is to use AfterEffects inside PP as a filter.  Therefore you will not have to duplicate or re-render all your PF24 footage to create true 24p clips.  You work with the same source clips throughout the entire process.  Here's what you do - 1st create a 24p AVCHD sequence in PP and drop your PF24 clips into it. Now you can select individual clips or the entire sequence of clips and "right click" and select "Replace with AfterEffect Composition".  This will export the selected clip(s) into AE.  Now you can use the world-famous AE Interpret footage function to remove the pulldown issues.  Inside AE right-click the clip - select Interpret footage - select the fielding (in my case it was Upper Field First) - then finally the "magic bullet" - select "Guess 3:2 Pulldown" button.  Now when you jump back into PP you will be working with beautiful "TRUE" 24p footage.
    All the best!

  • What is the best way to create an MP4 (.M4V) that will play with forced subtitles in iTunes, Apple TV, and all iOS devices?

I've begun ripping my blu rays to digital format so I can store them on my NAS and access them from any device. Movies without subtitles work great, I simply use MP4 passthrough and all is well. I'm having issues with videos that have forced subtitles. I'm assuming I need to mux the video, audo and subtitle streams into an .M4V. I'm not sure how to do this. What format must the subtitle be in? SRT, AAS? Will Subler work?
My intention is that have the subtitles show no matter what. I don't want to fiddle with enabling them and disabling them. I want to watch the movie in itunes or an iOS device and have the subtitles show up without doing anything.

    cmanion wrote:
They are blu rays purchased before the advent of digital copies being included.  What do you suggest I do? Repurchase the movies I already own?
We cannot help you on this board. What you ask is illegal to do in the United States. As Lyssa says, "You will have to search elsewhere for help." However, purchasing the movies from the iTunes Store is a legal option.

  • What is the best way to create a "to delete file" in iPhoto?

I'm helping a friend downsize their library, but they want to be able to double check the photos before they get deleted. I realize that I cannot create a "to delete album" as this keeps the original still in the library.  My thought was to create a "to delete" file on the desktop and cut and paste the photos from the library.  Then they could be deleted from there.  Does this make sense?  Or is there a better way?  Suggestions greatly appreciated!

Make a to-delete- album and then trash them from there using the
    option-command-delete
    keystroke.
This will mov them from the Library to the trash.
The scheme you describe will not delete anything from iPhoto.

  • What is the best way to differentiate a flatten pdf file and a mult-layers (live) file

    Hi All,
I am using Adobe Acrobat 9.3.
I have over 10,000 pdf files saved in the same directory. Some of them have been flatten while some of them are still live.
All the files need to be flatten and I need to identify all the live files.
Is there any way I can identify them without going through one by one?
Is there any program I can use?
    Appreciate for your help.
    Thanks,
    Chris Wong

You can use JavaScript to tell if there are any layers in a document. You could use it in a batch sequence that checks all of the files in a directory and print the filename to the JavaScript console for each file that has layers.
    For more information, see:

You can also use JavaScript to run a Preflight profile that yo've set up to flatten layers. For more information, see:

  • What is the best way for cleaning up duplicate iTunes files in iCloud?

I have about 5000 of my songs in iTunes that are duplicates in iTunes, when I go to delete them it asks me to delete in iCloud too. I do this and then another file is either uploaded or downloaded with iClouds. Is there a webbased way to access iCloud and clean up duplicate iTune songs?

iTunes 11 has removed the Show Duplicates/Exact Duplicates functions so I've added two new scripts to make playlists of Duplicates and Exact Duplicates to my scripts collection.
If deduping by hand use shift-delete to remove selected tracks from the library as well as the playlist.
The Exact Duplicates script makes a good starting point from which to run my DeDuper script if you don't want to do it by hand. Please take note of the warning to backup your library before deduping.
