  • What's the best way to update my Mac with the latest version of Adobe Flash Player?

I've been getting prompts whenever I look at certain websites to download the latest version of Adobe Flash Player.  I'm skeptical as to responding to those prompts.  What is the best way to update my Mac Pro with the latest version of Adobe Flash Player?

You might also want to consider uninstalling Adobe Flash... I currently don't have it installed and haven't needed to install it.  Most websites are now coded in HTML 5 so that the iOS devices can actually visit them.  I can still watch YouTube videos et al.  About the only thing I can't do is play Flash games... but they're a resource hog anyways.
Try going without for a day or two and see just how many sites you visit no longer require it.  A lot of people keep it installed out of habit, not out of necessity.  If you have Flash installed, visit a site and it's out of date, it will tell you to update your Flash.  What it won't do is tell you is that had Flash not been installed, it would have used the HTML 5 code instead.  Think about it... if an iOS device can't run Flash at all... it can't visit this site if it were written only to use Flash.  What site would eliminate such a huge portion of their market base?  You'd be surprised at how many sites use HTML 5.  Uninstall Flash and see for yourself.

I have an iPhone 4 with iOS 5.1. What is the best way to update my phone to the latest iOS platform?

you can update over the air with strong wireless signal, or by connecting to a computer running iTunes.  Either works well.  If you do the update over the air, be sure and attach your iPhone to a wall outlet so you have a solid power supply and don't risk the battery dying during the update.
The iTunes approach installs a much larger file because of the connection, but if you have not updated since 5.1 that might be a better approach...replace the entire operating system instead of patching.
Either way, backup the iPhone yourself just for your own protection in the off-chance something should go wrong...a little paranoia while updating is a good thing

  • What is the best way to update the delivery time?

    Hi All,
One of the tasks I have in my job is to updste purchase orders with information found in the orderconfirmation we receive. In the order screen, ME22N, you can change the date in the item, where you have all positions listed. But you can also change it in the tab classifications.
What is the best way to update the delivery time?
    Best Regards
    Praveen

    Hi
    It may userfull to you
If you change the delivery date after you have send the PO, then the statistical delivery date is still containing the old delivery date., as long the order is not send this date is changed together with the delivery date.
Vendor evaluation is performed based on statistical delivery date.
So if you are responsible for a date change, then you change both dates, that the vendor does not get bad points. but if the vendor cannot deliver at the wished dates, then you change the delivery date only, that all people in your company and MRP run can rely on the new delivery date, but your vendor is evaluated against the old date, because of his fault.
    regards

  • What is the best way to update Currency information in SRM?

    Dear Experts,
there was additional information introduced in R/3, with respect to a certain currency (this currecy got a second abbreviation, whereas the first abbreviation was set as the primary ISO code).
Can you please help me understand, what is the best way to get this additional information updated in SRM 7.0 (Classic)?
    - Do we replicate via the DNL_CUS_BASIS3 object?...and if yes, do we replicate from Development R/3 system to development SRM system and than transport it to SRM Quality and Production...or do we replicate level by level, i.e. from R/3 development to SRM development and than from R/3 Quality to SRM Quality and so on...
    OR
    - Do we update this change manually in SRM Development and than transport it to SRM Quality and Production?
    Thank you very much.

Please elabotate what additional information regarding currency you need to update.
As per std. SRM we may use "BBP_GET_CURRENCY" that will update currency details from ECC to SRM.
But always you may add on required fields as required using enhancements.

  • What is the best way to update your reference images?

    Hello,
We are using MDT 2013 to deploy Windows 7x64. We have an automated process to generate our reference images using Powershell and Hyper-V. It works great.
We generate new images once per month, and I would like to know the best way to update the .wims in the deployment share.
Can I just copy the new .wim file into the deployment share with explorer and overwrite the old one? I assume this method will retain the old GUID in the MDT console. Will new deployments just start using this new .wim as soon as it is coped? Do I need to
    update the deployment share?
Do I need to import a new OS through the MDT console? Doing this I assume will require me to select the new .wim in my task sequence, since the newly imported OS will have a new GUID.
Also, these .wim files are used in our test deployment share before our production share. Can I just copy/paste from one share to the other? What does this do to the OS GUID? Does it get a new one or does it retain the old GUID from the original share?
    Appreciate any feedback.

As long as the replacement WIM is the same version number, and the same WIM Index, I would be OK with just robocopy'ing the install.wim over the old version.
Replication between the test and production shares should use the same GUID's so you should be OK.

  • What is the best way to update a folio produced by someone else?

I need to update files that were created by someone else and have already been published in folio producer. The client has given me access to the folio via DPS folio producer.  What is the best way to go about getting access to the InDesign files via Folio Producer? Or so I need to go back and get the InDesign files? Sorry if this has been addressed somewhere else recently but all the posts I have seen were older. Thanks.

I assume the folio was shared with you? If so, copy it in the folio producer so you have you own folio.
Then get the source files. You can then relink your copied folio to the InDesign files.

  • What is the best way to update my iPhotos into Aperture (re-import)

I want to re-import my iPhoto Library into Aperture 2 to update Aperture but am nervous about "overiding" changes I've made with the photos - and all of the projects, books, albums, etc. - that have been made in the last year.
What is the best, safest, don't-forget-to-check-this-box way of updating your iPhoto Library into Aperture 2?
Do I just reimport the whole thing but check the box that says to ignore duplicates?

  • What is the best way to update /101 Total Gross YTD values within CRT

Hello - Can someone please suggest the best way that I can update the current /101 YTD values within the CRT?  We had a conversion effort take place earlier in the year that did not accumulate the amounts of one particular wage type to the /101 bucket.  The wage type itself is currently in the CRT with the appropriate accumulators set up correctly but the /101 YTD values are too low due to the missing amounts.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

  • What is the best way to update Windows 7 Boot from 32bit to 64bit?

I'm sure this has been answered a number of times, but I can't quite seem to get a search query that takes me where I want to be. Here's the issue.
I have a Macbook Pro 15" Early 2011. I just put 8GB of RAM in it, replacing the stock 4GB. I use Boot Camp to run Windows 7 32bit, which can only use so much of the 8GB RAM (2.16 useable). I've read around and understand I'll need to update to 64bit Windows. What's the most painless way to do this with Boot Camp that will preserve all my files on the Windows 7 boot.
Thank you for your help in advance.

    radioactivepal wrote:
So, I should back up Windows 7 while in Windows or should I do that with Boot Camp? I'm a bit confused about the process in general.
You can not 'upgrade' 32bit Windows to 64bit 'inplace'. You will need to perform a custom install, this will erase you existing 32bit installation entirely. Then you can install the 64bit version and all your programs.
How much Ram do you have?
Sorry about that question, I read slower than I type
Don't forget to make a full backup of your Windows files before you start the installation, they will not be there after you finish.

  • What is the best way to update leopard to the current os x version?

I am still running Leopard and I was just wondering what the fastest / cheapest way of updating my system to the current software is?

We know nothing about your computer. Maybe it cannot run anything newer; maybe it can. Get more information about your computer. Go to the Apple in the upper left corner of any window, then "About This Mac", then "More Info..."  Copy and paste the information here, but omit the serial number and Hardware UUID (if present).

  • What's the best way to update file references after a move?

I have a Photoshop Elements photo catalog with about 25k pictures all pointing to a network share I call \\thehive. I've moved, or sync'd if you will, all of the files in the \\thehive network share to a local storage drive for better performance which is now located at the P:\ drive. I plan to treat the P drive as my main drive that the catalog reads from, and use \\thehive network simply as a clone of the P drive which I plan to keep in sync using SyncToy. I already have all of this setup in place, files are sync'd on both the P drive and \\thehive, everything works as expected so far. But how to I go about updating the catalog so that it starts from the P drive instead of the \\thehive? A picture today is pointing to \\thehive\2008\somepicture.jpg and I need it to point to P:\2008\somepicture.jpg.
I'm a pretty advanced computer user so I can edit an XML file or do some advanced unsupported operations if I had to. Would appreciate your thoughts and suggestions.

The fastest way is to directly change the values in the catalog.pse9db database.  The database is a SQL Lite database, so if you know (or know someone who knows) how to run SQL queries against a database, you're in luck because Adobe did an excellent job of designing a highly normalized database schema.
I highly recommend first trying this on a copy of your database.  In general, the procedure goes like this:
Add one of your images on the P: drive into the catalog.  This will establish a listing for the P: drive and its identification in the volume_table table.
Run a SQL query against the volume_table table to see a listing of all the rows.
Note the values of the "id" column for your "thehive" volume and the "P:" volume.
Run a SQL query against the media_table table to update the value of the volume_id column, replacing all instances of the "thehive" id number with the id number of your "P:" drive. The SQL query will look something like this:
    Update media_table
        set volume_id = "<your new value>"
            where volume_id = "<your old value>"
I've tested this with PSE9.0.3 on Win7, changing the location from a CD on my E: drive to a USB stick on my F: drive.
    Good Luck!

  • What is the best way to update the remote server?

    Hi,
Sorry, but this is a newbie question.
Is there a way to update your Flex app on the remote server without taking it down momentarily? Currently, if I update the app, I remove the files from the public_html folder on the server and then put the new files in their place. The site goes down while I'm making the change. Is there a better way of updating or is this the standard way?
Sorry for such a basic question.
    Thanks,

  • What is the best way to update a help file once it's already been compiled

As programs get updated, many of the programmers I write for don't highlight their Microsoft Word help document changes.  This leaves me to re-compile their newest document - creating many headaches for me if the previous document needed hyperlinks and such - I then have to re-create all these again.  Please let me know what suggestions you have - I'm very new to all of this.

You could start by using Word's compare feature to compare the last document with the current one, then make those changes in the online help.
After amending the help, use RH's Printed Documentation to push back out the content including your changes. That way, next time you will only have their changes for the current period without the clutter of what you had to edit the previous time.
