My husband has the exact same phone and I upgraded his IOS at the same time, but this problem is not happening to his phone (we are also on the same plan, so our service should be the same). Our settings appear to be identical and my phone is showing the 3G symbol at the top, so I can't understand why it won't access the network.
I've turned it on and off twice and have reset all settings with my iTunes account, but it still isn't working.

For weeks, I have been getting the run-around from the employees in my local Verizon wireless store, who have on various instances insisted that that don't keep track of the specials offered on-line, I couldn't keep my phone number when switching phones, etc. Yesterday, I was happy to finally reach someone at the customer service phone number who was pleasant and took the time to answer my questions. I very specifically asked him about the single line plan offered online for $60 a month since I am not looking for a shared data plan and whether it would apply to, not only a smartphone, but specifically an Apple iPhone. He informed me that it would, and that if they switched me to that plan then and there, when I logged into my account, I would be able to order a new phone and keep that plan. The website is now insisting that that the $60 single line cell phone plan is not usable with an iPhone.
I'd like to get a straight answer as to what exactly I can use with this plan. Does anyone know?What is the $60 plan providing you? I recommend upgrading your phone and then changing over to the Loyalty Smartphone plan for $60 a month that provides you with unlimited talk, text and 2GB data with a $10 overage charge per GB. It requires a 1-year contract extension but if you are upgrading your phone then you won't have to worry about that. Any smartphone will work on this plan, especially iPhones.

I am trying to figure out what phones can be put on the verizon prepaid plan.
Most Verizon Wireless phones will work with our prepaid plans. The only phones that are not compatible with our service are Push to Talk, PDAs/Smartphones, advance data devices (BlackBerry, PalmOne Treo, etc.), PC Card devices and handsets with HTML Web browser such as the LG Dare, LG Voyager, Samsung Glyde, Samsung Omnia and Motorola Krave and all Dashboard-capable devices like the LG Chocolate 3, LG VX 8360, Motorola Rapture VU30, Nokia 7205 Intrigue and Samsung Renown SCH-u810. Keep in mind features such as V CAST video, Mobile TV, and Chaperone services are not available for prepaid service." I had contacted support in regards to available phones for prepaid service, and the above is the explination i recieved. Why can't I view my icloud backups on a new apple device using the same icloud id? Unluckily I lost 4 iphones in 2 yrs. all had same icloud acct on them, so when i log on to locate my current iphone on my macbook or on new iphone, it shows a list of all the lost iphones and their data take up.
When i click on settings on my ios> go to icloud > storage & backup> manage storage:
LOST IPHONE 1- 4.5 GB DOCUMENTS & DATA : it shows PREVIEW 1.2 MB PAGES1.6 MB TEXT EDIT91.6 KB PHOTOS 3.2 GB
LOST IPHONE 2- 3.2 GB DOCUMENTS & DATA: it shows same thing just different gb's mb's kb's
LOST IPHONE 3- etc.......
but you can't click on those documents & data to show what exactly they are so you can move them or save and delete. If I go into icloud there's nothing there from that long ago. is that data deleted? if i were to get that certain iphone back and turn it on would the pics, docs still be in icloud? it says all that room in my icloud is still taken up so where can i view it?? anyone know??
THANK YOU!If you haven't already, you could force-quit Quicktime by using the menu option from the desktop (finder) and choose Quicktime.
Not sure what you have frozen on the screen, be it a failed movie, or some unusual screen shot. If you can find by date (created) you may be able to look for .mov or quicktime suffix name or other video file content to delete it.
And you may have to restart your computer and perhaps run repair disk permissions from Disk Utility's first aid on the hard disk drive in your computer.
Not sure if all that would help now, but it is something a few days late...!

No, I get my mail on my computer, not on a website. I used to be able to see the information but in sorting another issue I must have changed a setting or something. I have gone to View. Under Message Attributes most things are ticked but many of them are not bold print i.e. they are pale grey. I don't know how to activate them again.

The iPad can connect to wireless networks. So if your router is capable of broadcasting its internet connection wirelessly (so that you can access it from say a laptop) then you can go to the settings and choose wifi to connect to the router. If not you can turn on internet sharing on your computer if you have a pc or mac. This will share your connection wirelessly so that you can connect your iPad to the internet.

There is nothing that you can do. If you don't have a more recent backup, you can't magically create a current backup now. You can use the 5 month old backup, or simply start all over again. You can download most of your purchased content again as long as you use the same Apple ID that you used to make the purchases.

if i get an i pad with 3 g service capability do i have to use it in order for the i pad to work or can i just use the wifi part because i dont have the extra money to pay for a data plan
If you do get 3G, you only use cellular when wifi is not available. You pay by the month for a 3/4G plan.

Does anyone know where the iWeb data files are located or what they are called? I can't find them. I looked in Finder for files named the same as my website, but found nothing. Any help would be appreciated.
If you erased or replaced your hard drive since iWeb was cancelled, then they are gone. Otherwise, if you have maintained backups then check those.
Usually such files are in the /Home/Library/ folder or a sub-folder.
Exposing the /Home/Library/ Folder
Pick one of the following methods:
A. This method will make the folder visible permanently. Open the Terminal application in your Utilities folder and paste the following at the command prompt:
chflags nohidden ~/Library
Press RETURN.
B. Click on the Desktop, press the OPTION (⌥) button, select Library from the Finder's Go menu.
C. Select Go To Folder from the Finder's Go menu. Paste the following in the path field:
~/Library
Press the Go button. -
I've being trying to up date my iPad, but this has turn an impossible mission.
At first I was happy with my new NO VIRUSES allowed toy; but I have just realized that this is a piece of ****, as any other Microsoft BS equipment.

Another user was able to get the Mobile Backup to work by changing the time zone to an equivalent time zone. https://discussions.apple.com/message/11784549#11784549
They do not state whether they changed the setting on the Windows side or on the iPad. It is possible the backup is trying to match so if you have not done so, try checking that first. What country/timezone are you in?
I'll look through the discussions to see if I see any other solutions. You probably will need to contact Apple directly for support. I think for Windows iTunes there is a Connection Diagnostic tool. Using that may provide more details for why the backup is failing. -

You can not install iOS 5. It is no longer signed by Apple. You can only install the current version of iOS. For a 3GS, that's 6.1.3.
However... if you have 4.2.1 on your phone, odds are it is not a 3GS, it is a 3G. If that's the case, you've reached the end of the road for that. It can not run anything higher than 4.2.1. -
Switching phones--why can't I keep the same data plan?
I am on a family plan with three phones on it, two of which are Android phones. The third line, currently suspended by me, is on an LG Env3. Before the data plans changed, I added the unlimited data to the phone for $29.99. I reactivated the line to verify the data plan shows on it, and then suspended the phone again.
I want to use this extra line as a house phone, and I have an HTC Eris I'd like to use. Since it's a smart phone, I know I have to have a data package, which is already attached to the line. When I got on-line and tried to reactivate the line, changing it to the Eris, a window popped up telling me I have to switch to one of the new data plans.
Anyone have any idea why it is doing this? I changed from the Eris to a Thunderbolt on one of the other lines two weeks ago, and had no problem keeping the unlimited $29.99 plan.
If I call customer service and do it with a rep, will I be able to keep the $29.99 data plan?

(Originally posted in wrong forum)LG Env3 is not a smartphone. The feature phone unlimited data plan is coded differently than the smartphone unlimited data plan. If you change that line to a smartphone (like a Droid Eris) you have to select from the currently available data plan options.
As long as you keep a feature phone on that line you can keep the grandfathered feature phone unlimited data plan. -
I'm trying to sync my ipad over wifi, with my MAC, I have the updated software on my MAC, the ipad is up to dat 6.1.2. I can follow all of the steps, but I can't find a SUMMARY button on the toolbar, nor do I receive the option to sync. What am I doing wrong or what should I look for? Thank You
To sync your iPad over Wifi:
First ensure you're running iTunes 11.0.2. And you already have your iPad up to date, good.
Plug your iPad into the Mac via USB. Click your iPad in the top toolbar (under the search bar). Click the Summary tab if it isn't already selected. Check the box to "Sync with this iPad over Wi-Fi" (you may have to scroll down to see it). And now click the Apply button at the bottom right.
You should be able to unplug your iPad from the Mac and it should still remain in iTunes. (If not, try Quitting and relaunching iTunes and waiting, restarting iPad, etc).
To initiate a sync over Wifi, click your iPad in the toolbar in iTunes then click Sync. Or on your iPad, go to Settings > General > iTunes Wifi Sync and tap "Sync Now."
If this didn't solve your problem, please let me know with a more detailed explanation of what you're experiencing so I can try to help you get up and syncing wirelessly! -
I just downloaded the latest iOS.7 upgrade on my ipad2, and since I can not connect to the internet using my cellular data plan. I have checked my data plan and it's both current and over 2GB remaining. However the indicator shows no service, thus would be the best steps to recover. Thanks much for any support that can be provided.
