. What is the client concept in SAP? What is the meaning of client independ

hi,
send me replay

Hi ,
since u r maintaining different clients in da same server ,
so ,
tables needs to have diff data for diff client.....
now if u dont make tables client dependent then , same table data will be used by all clients ...
But all clients have their own diff data ,
So making a table client depedent , u r using same database table, to store data of different clients.
for more information:
A client is a logical division of data within an SAP system. Some things, like application data are mostly client-dependent, meaning that for example, a G/L account defined in client 123 of system ABC is only visible in that client. Therefore if you logon to client 456 of system ABC you will not be seeing the same database entity (if it is defined at all).
At a technical level, client dependent data simply resides in database tables that have the client number as a key field (typically the first key field).
Multiple clients within an SAP system are often used in development, testing and training systems - so that individuals can work in the same system (on the same codeset) but in isolation of each other.
Very rarely will a production system have multiples clients (ignoring the internal SAP clients like 000 and 066).

  • What exactly is the diff between client dependant and client independant te

    Hi gurus,
What is the diff between client independant and client dependant term.. I initially had a confusion related to client independant and client dependant Transport requests, where else are these words applicable, do they apply to data as well, if so how? any links to help me understand the difference..
    regards,
    kishore

    Hi Kishore,
Client Independant: These objects are not specific to any client. And it is universal which can be viewed, changed across the clients.
Client Dependant: These are the objects can be viewed, changed for the client for which it has been assigned. Other clients do not have access on these objects.
In SAP, all objects are finally stored as tables. "Mandt" is key field which determines whether the object is client dependant or not.
Client Independant transport requests will make the transported objects available across the clients. and Client dependent transport request make the objects available only for the client mentioned by field "Mandt"

  • What does instantiation mean? (The concept of instantiation)

    Please help me here,
I have a hard time understanding the
concept of instantiation. If an object
is instantiated, what does it mean?
    Thanks.

    By the way,
what is the difference between initializing an
object and instantiating an object? public class A
         private int a;
         A(int x) //constructor with one argument
              a = x;
         public int getV()
              return a;
Each class will have a constructor
that will be invoked while instantiating an object.
(If a constructor is not provided explictly
the compiler will provide a default constructor
that takes no arguments and initialize the data
    members with their default values.)
The constructor is a special function that initialize
the data members of an object.
    In the above example
    A obj1 = new A(10);
will create memory for the object obj1 and then
the constructor invoked will initialize the data member
    a to the value 10.
    >
Does the instance variables and objest mean the
same? Are they the same thing? No.
Instance variable is different from an object.
The variable 'a' is said to be an instance variable of the
    class A.
The object obj1 is an instance of the class A.

  • What is client independent customizing....Newbie

    Gurus
Client has Application data(master + transactional data)
Customizing data pertaining to the client
Then what is client independent customizing...I read on SAP...but I do not understand its weird definition...please explain me in simple English
During client copy when should i choose client independent data to be copied? if my target client already exists.

    Hi
A client is an independent business unit within an R/3 System, Data in the R/3 are classified as cleint-Dependent and client-independent.
Client-independent data such as ABAP Programs, R/3 repository objects throught the entire system.
Other data is client-dependent. meaning, it can be viewed from one client.Cleint-dependent data includes customizing application and user data.
    enterprise IMG is cleint independent.

  • What is the meaning of +++++  in aggregates .

    HI Experts,
What is the meaning of +++++  in aggregates .
    Thanks in advance .
    Prasad

    Hi,
"---" sign is the valuation of the aggregate. You can say -3 is the valuation of the aggregate design and usage. ++ means that its compression is good and access is also more (in effect, performance is good). If you check its compression ratio, it must be good. -- means the compression ratio is not so good and access is also not so good (performance is not so good). The more is the positives...more is useful the aggregate and more it satisfies the number of queries. The greater the number of minus signs, the worse the evaluation of the aggregate. The larger the number of plus signs, the better the evaluation of the aggregate.
if "-----" then it means it just an overhead. Aggregate can potentially be deleted and "+++++" means Aggregate is potentially very useful.

  • Please help me to understand what is the meaning of Acess point Channel utilization?

please help me to understand what is the meaning of Acess point Channel utilization? If i want to mange the capacity of my Office Wi-Fi network what are the factor i need to monitor.

    Hi Ankit,
    Channel Utilization
The 802.11, 802.11b, and 802.11g standards use the same 2.4 GHz band. All must interoperate with each other, which introduces additional overhead reducing channel throughput. Many sites already have products using the Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz band. Additionally, there are many other products that use the same 2.4 GHz frequencies as used by Wi-Fi. Other products include Bluetooth, cordless phones, video game controllers, surveillance cameras, and microwave ovens.
Before the installation of the Cisco Unified Wireless Network, a site can be tested for channel interference and utilization with tools from AirMagnet, Wild Packets, Cognio, and others. The Wireless Control System (WCS) AP On-Demand Statistics Display report provides a spectrum review of the following:
    •Noise by channel
    •Interference by channel
    •Client count versus RSSI
    •Client count versus SNR
    •Channel radar detection versus time

  • Whats the meaning of 'reaction' !

in a SAP standard code i found a systax like
    if reaction = 'A' then ,........
Whats the meaning of this ?

Well, basically, that is a conditional statement which is comparing the variable REACTION to the literal "A".  REACTION is a variable of some type in the parameter, and if its value is = "A", then the program will do some lines of code.
This could mean anything within the context of the program, this variable could be used to evaluate a variable from a function module which the user is giving some answer via a button, or anything.

  • What is the mean of condition index in pricing condition

    hi
my question is what is the mean of conditon index in pricing condition type what is the use of it give me ascenario.

    hi nag
A customer-defined list of conditions that allows quicker access to condition records or a group of condition records.
    <a href="https://forums.sdn.sap.com/click.jspa?searchID=4774296&messageID=3962335">condition index</a>
Condition Index can be created for particular condition type to maintain condition record. The condition index along with the condition update field in condition type (T.Code: V/06) restricts the usage of condition type for limited sales orders, condition base value or condition value.
    Features of condition Index:
When checked this specifies whether the system updates one or more condition indices when maintaining condition records.
This makes it possible to list or maintain condition records independently of condition type and condition table

  • My I Phone keeps sayins "no sims Card" in the upper left hand corner of the phone, what does that mean? And I can't connect to WI-FI right now, WhY?

My I Phone 5 is saying "no Sims" card in the upper left hand cornor of the phone, what does that mean? And I can't get connected to Wi-Fi, why not???

If the Wi-Fi diagnostics are okay then check your own Wi-Fi router to find out how many clients are connected. The number of clients may not matter but how much data Hogging is going on. If you have multiple computer Services accounts active Wi-Fi cannot handle that much. Examples would be two people playing World of Warcraft, Two people watching a Netflix movie or AppleTV movie, One person Downloading iTunes movies or music at the same time. That accounts for a lot of Wi-Fi usage.

  • Help!? Hilfe!? What is the topic: "basis-url"? What does it mean?

    Hello,
FYI -- "here", as in these forums (which are targeted at BB/RIM services rather than carrier services), would not be the best place to find out something specific for one carrier. With so many thousands of carriers with dozens of different plans each, it's pretty much impossible to keep track of the specifics. The generic information is this:
    http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/What_do_I_need_a_Data_Plan_for%3F
But, there certainly can be variations on that given the different packages carriers put together. I do suggest you do as JSanders recommended -- contact your carrier and find out what you've signed up for.
    Good luck!

  • What is the meaning of resynchronizing BPEL partner link

    Hi,
In a documentation regarding BPEL with rules engine I read the following statement:
"If the fact model is edited in the Rule Author, the service definition is affected and the BPEL partner link must be re synchronized."
    What does it mean?
How to re synchronize BPEL partnerlink.
    Thanks in advance.

Did you explore the help available on the Generic Search Framework in the [ISA Extension Guide|http://service.sap.com/~sapdownload/011000358700000469462006E/]? See pages starting 21, if you have not done so until now.
Make sure if you have maintained the required partner hierarchy.
But if it is a B2B Order status scenario, you would have
either logged in as a contact person to a single sold-to (and hence sold-to determined)
    or selected the sold-to already.
in this case, allowing one to change the sold-to will be wrong in the B2B scenario.

  • What is the meaning of UL3+?

We want to install FMW 11g components(WLS,ADF,SOA,OIM) on RedHat EL5.
The FMW11g certification matrix say 11g certified on Red Hat EL 5 (UL3+) on Oracle VM, minimum update level required is Red Hat EL 5 (UL3+) on Oracle VM 2.1.2+.
What is the meaning of UL3+?
Do we must instll oracle VM 2.1.2+ after install Red Hat EL5?
Oracle VM2.1.2+ is free or need license?
    Thanks

Based on context, it would be update (or update level?) ... similar in concept to Service Pack in some other OS that I don't quite remember the name of ...
OracleVM is optional, but it would be installed BEFORE Red Hat (or Oracle Enteprise Linux - whch has the same release numbers)
OracleVM (OVM), like Oracle Enterprise Linux (OEL) is GPL and is licensed for no fee. And like OEL, OVM allows you to purchase support for an annual fee. (Note that even 'Free' software has a license.)
