question: will this rename the iTunes folders with the current naming scheme of 'iTunes Media' and so on? i ask b/c my fiancé's computer is on XP with a fairly current version of iTunes and i am trying to share our single library, but can't because of the different folder names in our different versions of iTunes. thanks.. -
What's the best version of iTunes for Front Row?
Can anyone share some opinions please on which older version of itunes I should download that has the least amount of bugs when using "front row" (I currently have 9.0.3 and Mac OS X 10.5.8)? . Also, should I download the regular version or the 64-bit version? What's the difference/advantage between the two?
Many-many thanks in advance.I am right up there with iTunes biggest proponents, and try and to recruit anyone who will listen. (I've got over 18,000 song files on my storage Mac, about 1,000 on this Mac).
I've got about 75 "complete season" Television DVDs, and it was really time consuming to decide which series and episode I wanted to watch by pulling out a box, reading each episode summary that came with the DVD, then take it out of the box, insert it, view it, put it back etc. etc....all for one episode!
Then I heard about adding video files to iTunes and viewing them via Front Row (or iTunes)...couldn't wait to try it. Was totally won over by Front Row's little opening fanfare and the look of the table of contents/episode screen etc. Every feature worked fine.
Since downloading 9.0.3 (from either 9.0 or 9.1) however, I inherited that scrolling issue were it skips and jumps to the last TV Show played or occasionally a random episode, and keeps reverting to that one as well. With my previous version, that scrolling issue appeared, but only several times in about a 3 month daily viewing period, then stopped doing that altogether. With that version of iTunes, it seemed to stop after I held the up and down buttons on the remote and let it rapidly scroll up and down, from top to bottom several times, throughout that particular series. That doesn't work now, and even scrolling up and down/back and fourth, full speed ahead, I can see it semi-pause for a split second on a specific episode. This now became constant problem.
Now a newer problem. I had some misc. TV shows that were catalogued in iTunes as Misc.(Show), which front row correctly displayed as such and were properly filed in it's own iTunes folder. I tried to rename that folder, and since then, the iTunes window displays the new name correctly, but Front Row doesn't. I tried dragging that folder to the desktop, creating a new one in the iTunes folder, then dragging those desktop files (sans folder) into the new one and it's still back to square one! I've got about 840 TV shows, with 145 GB of free space remaining.

Yes, due to Incomplete Software Update on your iPhone your Device is now in Recovery Mode and you cannot take a Backup now. But if you have taken a backup earlier then you can Restore that backup on your iPhone after you Reset your iPhone to Factory Settings.

What's the optimum version of Safari for OS 10.3.9?

What is the optimum version of Safari for use on a PowerBook G3 "Pismo" running OS 10.3.9? I'm currently running 1.2 (v 125). I've downloaded 1.3.1 but when I try to install it says "Not compatible with this system." Is there some version in between that would work better? If so, I haven't been able to find it, and the Update Software feature doesn't find it either.

The highest version for Panther is 1.3.2.
Before you can install 1.3.1, you need to install 1.3. This may get you there: Apply the 10.3.9 Combined Update. Do not use the computer while the Installer is running. Once complete you'll need to restart the computer.
Then, via your Finder, go to your Applications>Utilities folder. Open Disk Utility. When open, click on the HD on the left, then First Aid Panel>Repair Permissions on the right. Once complete, open Safari.
When the Safari browser is open, go to the Safari Menu>About Safari. Which version are you using? If it is 1.3.2, then you're good to go. If it is 1.3, then run the 1.3.1 installer again. Once finished (I believe you'll have to restart), run the 1.3.2 update. Once the installer/restart is complete again "repair permissions". -
What's the earliest version of iTunes to include the play next and add to play next feature when right clicking a song?
I started out with version 11 and loved it right up to the latest update.
I'm beyond my partying days so DJ has nothing for me but I realy loved the drop down with "what's next", the "play next" and the "add to play next" feature and best of all "SHOW DUPLICATES".
I have an eclectic taste in music and a very extensive music collection to go with it. The "show duplicates" feature allowed me to shrink my library by well ove 1,000 songs and eliminated hearing the same song several times when playing randomly. ie, I have the complete Rolling Stones collection and was able to get rid of no fewer than 7 coppies of "Satisfaction".
With all the duplicates lined up you can sample each one and avoid deleting different versions also.
I'm eagerly waitng for the next update to see if my problems with 11 will be fixed. The current update drops out sections of songs (Whipping Post by the Alman Bros. was over in 3 minutes) and I tried repairing and a complete uninstall, reinstall to no avail. -

'm having a problem with downloading and installing the new version of itunes for windows (11.1.4) I have done everything the troubleshooting article has said and it is still not working properly. I have even done a repair to see if that works and it has not. Has anyone else found a new way to get it working?

I just downloaded the latest version of iTunes for Windows and now iTunes crashes everytime I launch it. I have tried re-downloading and selecting Repair with no luck. Any suggestions?

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
If you've already tried a complete uninstall and reinstall try opening iTunes in safe mode (hold down CTRL+SHIFT as you start iTunes) then going to Edit > Preferences > Store and turning off Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases. You may find iTunes will now start normally.

I have an old IPID touch and just bought a anew Nano. If I downoload the latest version of Itunes for my Nano, will I lose all of my osns stored in my old version of Itunes and can I still use my Touch (with my current songs on it) with the new version of Itunes? In the past when I downloaded a new version, I lost my songs on my Touch. Thank you for any help any one might offer.

Duplicate DTP in Process chain
Hi folks, I have 2 separate loads (infopackages) scheduled that load into infoobject via a DTP. I can't run these both before running the DTP as this may result in duplicate entries. Ideally, I would run the infopackage 1 followed by DTP and then inf
