I am trying to read alot of the old post concerning metadata
when I export I cannot see my name or keywords
was the conclusion having the correct Windows version?
OR does metadata show in Lightroom only?
what is the purpose of the metadata if you are trying to have them in web galleries and you cannot add your info
to the images...of should I say add them in Lightroom only to not see info OUTSIDE of Lightroom

What program or method are you using in an attempt to view the metadata when you don't see it?
You might attach a resized-to-small version of one of your exported JPGs for others to look at.
You might try EXIF Tool to more definitively tell you what is in the JPG header:

Download then unzip/install the program and drag-and-drop your JPG to the EXIFtool(-k).exe program file.

What is the cleanest Lightroom Dropbox backup setup?

I have a 1TB Dropbox account and want to use it to backup my photos. As Lightroom 5 simply references the image files, I've got them saved inside a 'Pictures' folder, by date taken, inside my Dropbox folder, so all images are (slowly) being uploaded to the cloud. I also have my Lightroom catalogue and previews files saved in the same location. And I have Lightroom set to automatically import photos taken on my iPhone from the Dropbox 'Camera Uploads' folder, and save them into my library. I thought I had all my bases covered.
The problem is, even with a cable internet connection, it is taking forever for everything to upload. And I'm not completely sure, but it seems to be prioritising uploading the Lightroom previews ahead of the actual image files in the library. And the fact that it's uploading both the original photos and the previews makes me wonder if I should have the Lightroom files saved outside of my Dropbox folder.
Can anyone suggest a Lightroom > Dropbox backup setup that works for them? I really want to set it up so that it just backs up automagically and I don't have to do anything manually except import photos.

Yes, there are lots of threads here by folks having trouble with them. But there are very few of us who have much, if any, experience with them. And, of course, each maker has different software and procedures.
And, since most of our experience is helping with problems, we're not exactly wild about the idea.
Most of the ones I've been involved in start out with something like "I've contacted <NAS maker> and Apple several times, and nobody can help."
If you're not technically proficient, think long and hard. If you are, well, do the same. If you decide to do it anyway, be sure to have secondary backups.
For a taste, skim this 6-day saga (not clear how much earlier it started): I can't find my old backups.
The lady was a novice (at the beginning -- not any more ), so it's much longer than usual, but that's far from the only one here.

What is the current Lightroom product on the Creative Cloud?

My Creative Cloud lists Lightroom 5. I was asked to download and update to Lightroom CC 2015. Something happened during the update process and a number of errors appeared. Since I've not been able to fix the problem or download this version of Lightroom.

I use Logic 80% of the time. I'm like you and almost never use software instruments or loops mostly just real instruments. Many times I'll start a project in Garageband then finish it in Logic this is a big plus about using Logic over others DAWs.
I still think the jump from Garageband to Logic comes with a steep learning curve but not as big as it was a few years ago. I don't use all that many features in Logic but the ability to use AUX channels and low latency mode with software monitoring sure is handy. I think if you plan to keep garageband and want to use something a little more advanced then logic is the right choice. If you are giving up on Garageband to move to something more pro then pick the one you want, I'd still go with Logic.

Here's a little more information on what I am trying to do.
I have a desktop computer with 4tb worth of pictures that has Lightroom and Photoshop on it. I also have a laptop with Photoshop and Lightroom. I would like to be able to edit those same pictures with their current edits that are currently on my desktop on my laptop. If this can be done, I'm sure I need to be on the same wifi network for my laptop to be able to access my desktop's photo library. I am technically savvy enough to map a network drive, but how do I get my two Lightroom catalogs to sync when I make a change on one of my computers? Would i be working only on one catalog? Or two separate catalogs that would need to be manually synced to the other computer? Would it be beneficial to put my lightroom catalog on something like dropbox?
I'd appreciate any information or tutorials if someone knows how to do this.

I do this by having my LR catalog and photos on an external drive that I swap between the two computers. I am on Windows and have the same drive letter assigned to the drive on both computers.
Because the photos are on a portable drive I back up the portable drive to another hard-drive every night or after important work, because portable drives are susceptible to damage or loss.

The way I would do it would be to crop the image so that it only displays what you want, then export that image and specify the dimensions. You will have to experiment with different export sizes to determine what would be acceptable for your situation. You might be more forgiving or more demanding than anyone who would venture to answer that question. That's the nice part about digital photography; you can experiment to your heart's content until you get the result you are looking for.

Very Important, how much Free Space is on your Hard Drive first of all? Click on the Macintosh HD on the Desktop, then do a Get Info on it.
Could be many things, we should start with this...

2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
3. Click the First Aid tab.
4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.

Not that I'm aware of. You just export JPEG copies to a folder that you can point iTunes to. For instance, I have created a folder in my Pictures folder called Apple TV. And within that folder I have other folders of pictures that I can choose from in iTunes to share with Apple TV. But there doesn't seem to be any way to share a Lightroom slideshow. If you have laid to create a video file that would probably work. Apple TV is a little clunky in my opinion. Some things are a little more difficult to do now than they were a while back. I probably haven't provided you with much help, but just keep experimenting and I think you will figure it out.

If these do not resolve the issue or if you are not comfortable with proceeding through these steps then take your Mac to an Apple store or an Apple Authorized Service Provider. Which version of the OS is installed, and which version are you trying to install?
You could try starting up with Startup Manager and see if it will allow you to select the OS X install disc as the startup disk. If so, maybe you can proceed from there. I would recommend repairing the hard drive first since you are evidently having a bit of a problem with it.

The largest 2.5" dia SATA drives available are 2 TB in capacity.
Have you tried the Seagate SSHD connected externally to the MBP via USB? The drive itself may be faulty.
