What is the correct process to return errors from an Event Handler
I have a pre-Create and pre-Modify Event Handlers. If the event handler detects an error, I want to throw an exception back to terminate the create user or modify user event. I also want to display a meaningful error message on the OIM UI. In my pre-modify event handler I am throwing the following exception when an error is detected:
throw new EventFailedException(processId, null, "User ID not available", "", "MODIFY", null);
However, the OIM UI is not displaying the message "User ID not available" as I want it to. Instead it is displaying the following error message:
An error occurred. The corresponding error code is IAM-0080062
Does anyone know where that error code is coming from? My event handler is not doing that. Also, does anyone know where I can find any documentation on the proper use of the EventFailedException? What do the parameters mean? How do I get a meaningful error message to display on the OIM UI?

I just bought an Crucial M550 256GB for my mid 2010 MBP. And I'm not clear on the data transfer instructions.
1) it came with Acronis instalation kit with a blank CD and a usb cable. I'm not sure what this CD is used for?
2) is it best to install the SSD with a fresh OSX download and then just use time machine to load all my previous settings?
3) or do I partition the SSD before I install it in the MBP and transfer using a clone?

I ordered a kit from OWC which included an external USB hard drive enclosure and tools. When it arrived, I first installed it in the external enclosre, hooked it to my MBP and then used CarbonCopyCloner to make a full bootable clone of my system on the new SSD after formatting it to Mac OS Extended (Journaled) and the GUID partition scheme. I then uninstalled the internal, installed the SSD in its place (following the install video availabe at OWC) and booted up - that was it. I installed the old internal drive into the external enclosure for an instantaneous bootable cbackup. -
What is The correct way to remove duplicates from the iTunes library?
I have a 300GB external drive which over the last 5 years has got bloated with duplicate tracks.
If I use the show duplicates option, I see 10,479 songs totalling over 50GB. Now, those songs that are shown, do they include the original that they are a duplicate of, or are they JUST the duplicates?
I have been sorely tempted to select all and delete to the trash, but I want to be 100% sure I don't delete any originals. Also, there are some duplicate tracks that are genuine dupes, for example, I have an original LP with a particular track on it, but then that exact track appears on a compilation LP, so I don't want to remove the compilation LP tracks as then the compilation is incomplete.
I have Tidy Up installed, but I'm a bit wary to use it as I want to be 10% sure I do the right thing, it's a lot of money to lose, and I'm a DJ, so this is thousands of conversions from my vinyl collection and stuff purchased and ripped from CD.
I see many methods of getting rid of duplicates but no definitive answer for someone in my position.

Your MBP should have an output port that looks this:
(on your MBP, it should appear the same as what is labeled as the adapter end)
This called a DVI connection.
Does your TV have an input port that looks like this?
(it should look like the 'adapter end' on your TV)
This is called a VGA connection.
Or does it have a conection that would take a plug shown on the bottom?
The above addresses only video. For sound you will need an extension from your audio output port (same plug on one end as your earphones have and a female input on the other end) You then will need a 'Y' adapter with a plug connecting to the extension and splitting into two RCA male connectors to connect to the TV.

If you connect the MacBook using a Mini-DVI to HDMI adapter you will probably need to use external speakers or a 3.5mm stereo headphone jack to RCA sound plugs connected to a stereo system for audio if your TV doesn't have separate RCA input plugs or a 3.5mm stereo input plug for audio with the HDMI plug. The Mini-DVI to HDMI doesn't carry audio and there're no audio plugs on most TVs to work with HDMI since it's expecting audio with the HDMI. -
Many times my computer takes too long to connect to new website. We are a 3rd party application, that needs to collect and analyze the IPS events for a client.
Currently the approach we are following is
1) get a SubscriptionId using the URL below

You are allowed to have the software installed and activated on two machines, so there should be no reason to deactivate it on your other machine, or at least you can wait until you see it loaded and working on the new one. -

Also make sure that for any of your email accounts you set them up to fetch, not push. My tech person set them all to have the email servers push data to the phone. The new iphone4s antenna is extremely strong so it will continually try to access stuff that is pushed–***** a lot of battery life doing this. It makes it worse if you have exchange 2010 accounts. Something about changes made to exchange really suck battery life from devices that access such accounts.

I am an occasional DB user and at the moment need to update about 1000+ records so that a certain column gets a unique value.
So I thought that I would use a variable for this.
I then built this kind of SQL statement for just a small subset of the records:

I get the invalid SQL statement error when attempting to execute above (besides the prompt that asks for a value which I would like to omit).
Anyway I also tried this one:

Everytime I use IE, first I have to click on the IE bar to allow blocked contect to display. What is the content that is being blocked from IE? viewers may not know what the problem is and see my site totally out of format.

What is the correct procedure for upgrading to aperture 3.4
I am working in South Sudan and am shortly going to be in a place where I can download all the updates. The last time I did an update was around 2 weeks ago.
I presume that there will be updates for Mountain Lion, iPhoto and Aperture, plus a whole pile of iOS updates. From the support questions I see that there is a number of people having problems.
I presume that the first thing to do will be to rebuild the library of aperture.
What is the correct procedure after that?If I do an upgrade through AppStore, and find it does not work, do I uninstall first by removing to trash? What do you mean by revert to an earlier version, and which previous version of Aperture should I use.

So you did buy Aperture from the AppStore?
Then move the Aperture application to the Trash, but do not empty it, just in case
Sign into the AppStore and reinstall. In this case you do not need to revert to an earlier version. If the AppStore installer does not find an Aperture in your Applications folder, it will have to make a full install, and no incompatible frameworks should remain, as is the problem with the partial upgrades right now.
Yes, I have a bootable clone,
And have you checked, if you really can boot from your clone? Just being very cautious.
Do you use facebook? Some posters are having problems, even after reinstalling, if the want to publish to Facebook. Post back, if you encounter that problem.
