Hi,
Based on the following specs, the machine has plenty of options:
   http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/13278_na/13278_na.PDF
You can buy 1-port card, 2-port card, 3-port card or even 4-port card such as:
    http://www.startech.com/Cards-Adapters/USB-3.0/Cards/2-Port-PCI-Express-SuperSpeed-USB-3-Card-Adapte...
You need to check the slot to get the right bracket for the card.
Regards.
ps eBay is a different story, you can buy few dollars card.

  • What is fastest possible wireless router and pci card for G4?

    There are many companies offering wireless transfer of data that exceeds the Airport Extreme card and Base Station. Are any pci cards other than AE compatible with a G4?

    Well if you connect via Ethernet (100Mbps) and use 3rd party wireless items similarly spec'd you will get a faster speed. However if your using the Airport card (iMac G4 800MHz can only take a Airport card (802.11b - 11Mbps)) then you will be forever limited to that speed.
    Apple's Airport Extreme is limited to 802.11g - 54Mbps and is only for 1GHz+ iMac G4's. This is odd as Apple was such an early adoptor of WiFi (1999 on the iBook G3) that they haven't kept up in recent years - but 54Mbps is ample for all but the most demaning applications.
    You can't put a PCI card in an iMac G4 - where would it go?
    Your best bet is a 3rd party wireless bridge that connects via Ethernet and gives onwards access to WiFi networks.

  • What is the correct way to set up artwork for a Billboard?

    I need to set up photoshop artwork (which consists of about 5 layers) for a 6m x 3m billboard. I set up my whole billboard in Illustrator (at 3m x 1,5m - half of actual size) and placed the psd image in. I set up my photoshop artwork at a third of actual size (3m x 1m at 300dpi). However, this made my file VERY slow to work with (result was about 700mb!!!!). Someone suggested that I downscale the image to 500mm wide and choose resample image > Bicubic Sharper (best for reduction). This scaled my psd file to about 32mb, which worked much faster. Then I saved the psd file as a Tiff with LZW compression without layers and placed into my illustrator file. However, when I export for print as PDFX1a- 2001 my file size was only 17mb!!!! Did I do the whole process correctly?! Will the print quality still be fine for such a big billboard? Is there a better / standard way to set up photoshop graphics for a billboard?

    You can use this test to check ppi resolution.
    On your desktop printer print a few tiles from the image in real size at different ppi resolutions like 10, 20, 30, 40. Find a wall where you can mark 6 meters, and tape the tiles on it. Now step back to whichever is longer distance - from where you can see comfortably the whole size of the eventual billboard without turning your head or to the distance that will be possible to see the actual mounted billboard, . Choose the ppi resolution on which you can't see pixelation on the printed test tiles.

  • What's the correct eclipse version shall I use for gyrex 1.3.2?

    Hi,
    I am a new one for Gyrex. And I have followed the wiki page to setup the Gyrex develop environment, but I failed. Some bundles cannot be resolved due to the imcomplete dependencies. Such as:
    org.eclipse.equinox.registry
    Missing Constraint: Import-Package: javax.xml.parsers;version="0.0.0"
    Missing Constraint: Import-Package: org.xml.sax;version="0.0.0"
    Missing Constraint: Import-Package: org.xml.sax.helpers;version="0.0.0"
    org.apache.solr.client.solrj and org.apache.solr.core

    Missing Constraint:Import-Package:org.apache.commons.httpclient.methods;version="3.1.0"
    Missing Constraint:Import-Package:org.apache.commons.httpclient.methods.multipart;version="3.1.0"
    The eclipse platform I used is Mars Release (4.5.0).
    Can anyone guide me to setup the target platform?

    Hi Gunnar,
    Many thanks for your help.
    Now I can started the dev environment now. While, I got an error when I try to access the cluster management page in the web console (http://localhost:3110).

  • What is the correct cable to go from from macbook to my TV - toshiba 24V4210U

    As above, what is the correct cable, and port, to use for watching videos and photos from my macbook on my TV -

    I live overseas where macs and their accessories are not available so I need to purchase this while on a visit to the USA. Thanks!

    Depends on what input plug you'll be using on your TV. VGA, DVI or HDMI. You'll need a Mini DisplayPort adapter and a cable from that to your TV. Here's the various types of Mini DisplayPort adapters on Amazon.com http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=min i-dvi&x=9&y=13#/ref=nb_sb_ss_sc_2_16?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=mini+ displayport&sprefix=mini+displayport&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Amini+displayport

  • My ical will not sync with iphone and ipad since I've been using icloud. It says URL is incorrect. But what is the correct one and where do I input that to enable all calenders to sync on all devices?

    What is the correct URL for my ical on my MacBook so that all devices will have the same information? And how/where do I update that?
    Thank you.

    I had major issues with the iPhone 4s battery, however it’s resolved.
    The tech who set the phone up at the Apple store did so with little training.
    if you have a mobile me account. First go and move all your data to the cloud by going on your computer and logging in at me.com/move. The cloud has replaced mobile me, so there is no need for those two accounts
    Also make sure that for any of your email accounts you set them up to fetch, not push. My tech person set them all to have the email servers push data to the phone. The new iphone4s antenna is extremely strong so it will continually try to access stuff that is pushed–***** a lot of battery life doing this. It makes it worse if you have exchange 2010 accounts. Something about changes made to exchange really suck battery life from devices that access such accounts.
    turning of locator and the push notifications from facebook--they have a lot!

  • What is the correct syntax for using a variable in an ad hoc query?

    Hi all
    I am an occasional DB user and at the moment need to update about 1000+ records so that a certain column gets a unique value.
    So I thought that I would use a variable for this.
    I then built this kind of SQL statement for just a small subset of the records:
    variable recNumber number;
    exec :recNumber := 1;
    UPDATE TABLE_TO_BE_UPD
    SET COL_TO_BE_UPD = COL_TO_BE_UPD + recNumber
    WHERE COL_TO_BE_UPD IN ('VAL_A','VAL_B');
    I get the invalid SQL statement error when attempting to execute above (besides the prompt that asks for a value which I would like to omit).
    Anyway I also tried this one:
    CREATE SEQUENCE seqCounter;
    UPDATE TABLE_TO_BE_UPD
    SET COL_TO_BE_UPD = COL_TO_BE_UPD + seqCounter.NEXTVAL
    WHERE COL_TO_BE_UPD IN ('VAL_A','VAL_B');
    From this one I got the error ORA-01722: invalid number...I am guessing this comes because seqCounter is of type number and the COL_TO_BE_UPD is of type character...(?)
    So what I would like to ask is what is the correct way to define and use a counter type of variable to append a number at the end of a character string?
    Also another question that I would like to ask is that are variables that are used in ad hoc queries also called 'bind variables'?
    Thanks muchly

    If you want to append a unique number to a column then this would do it:
    UPDATE TABLE_TO_BE_UPD
    SET COL_TO_BE_UPD = COL_TO_BE_UPD ||to_char(rownum)
    WHERE COL_TO_BE_UPD IN ('VAL_A','VAL_B');

  • What is the correct way to add styling to drag-and-drop created calendars?

    I have a working instance of a rich client calendar. I generated the view with the required fields (start, stop, provider, ...), put it into the App Module, and dragged it onto a JSF page to create a calendar.
    Next I created an activityScope object in a class called CalendarBean (no inheritance)
    Class CalendarBean()
    private HashMap<Set<String>, InstanceStyles> activityColorMap;
    +..+
    +public CalendarBean() {+
    super();
    activityColorMap = new HashMap<Set<String>, InstanceStyles>();
    HashSet setEd = new HashSet<String>();
    HashSet setLen = new HashSet<String>();
    setEd.add("Work");
    setLen.add("Home");
    activityColorMap.put(setEd, CalendarActivityRamp.getActivityRamp(CalendarActivityRamp.RampKey.ORANGE));
    activityColorMap.put(setLen, CalendarActivityRamp.getActivityRamp(CalendarActivityRamp.RampKey.RED));
    +}+
    +}+
    Next, I linked this up as a backing bean and associated the ActivityStyles of CalendarBean to it:
    +#{backingBeanScope.calendarBean.activityColorMap}+
    I populated some records in the database with properties "Work" and "Ed', but they show default blue.
    As I understand it, I need to do something with the getTags() method of the underlying CalendarActivity class, but I'm not quite sure how to do that.
    Took a stab at creating a class, CalendarActivityBean, that extended CalendarActivity, and pointed all the CalendarActivity references I had to the new class, but it didn't seem to fire (in debug), and I got into trouble, when inserting records, with
    public void calendarActivityListener(CalendarActivityEvent calendarActivityEvent) {
    currActivity = (CalendarActivityBean) calendarActivityEvent.getCalendarActivity();
    being an illegal cast
    What is the correct way to add provider-based styling to drag-and-drop create calendars?
    Ed Schechter

    A colleague of mine was kind enough to solve this:
    The calendar has ActivityStyles property = #{calendarBean.activityStyles}
    CalendarBean looks something like this:
    package com.hub.appointmentscheduler.ui.schedule;
    import java.util.HashMap;
    import java.util.HashSet;
    import java.util.Set;
    import oracle.adf.view.rich.util.CalendarActivityRamp;
    import oracle.adf.view.rich.util.InstanceStyles;
    +public class CalendarBean {+
    private HashMap activityStyles;
    private String dummy;
    +public CalendarBean() {+
    +// Define colors+
    activityStyles = new HashMap<Set<String>, InstanceStyles>();
    HashSet setPending = new HashSet<String>();
    HashSet setArrived = new HashSet<String>();
    HashSet setApproved = new HashSet<String>();
    HashSet setCompleted = new HashSet<String>();
    setApproved.add("APPROVED");
    setPending.add("PENDING");
    setArrived.add("ARRIVED");
    setCompleted.add("COMPLETED");
    activityStyles.put(setApproved, CalendarActivityRamp.getActivityRamp(CalendarActivityRamp.RampKey.GREEN));
    activityStyles.put(setPending, CalendarActivityRamp.getActivityRamp(CalendarActivityRamp.RampKey.ORANGE));
    activityStyles.put(setArrived, CalendarActivityRamp.getActivityRamp(CalendarActivityRamp.RampKey.PLUM));
    activityStyles.put(setCompleted, CalendarActivityRamp.getActivityRamp(CalendarActivityRamp.RampKey.LAVENDAR));
    +}+
    +public void setactivityStyles(HashMap activityStyles) {+
    this.activityStyles = activityStyles;
    +}+
    +public HashMap getactivityStyles() {+
    return activityStyles;
    +}+
    +}+
    Now, go into the Bindings tab on the calendar page, double click the calendar binding, and specify the column you've defined as the calendar's Provider in the Tags dropdown.
    Should show colors.

  • 1.4.2 - What is the correct way to format output in the java.io.PrintStream

    With Java 1.4.2:
    What is the correct way to format output in the java.io.PrintStream?
    The following is incorrect, even though it is still used in the The JavaTM Tutorial at: http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/essential/
    System.out.formatThis returns "cannot resolve the method 'format'"
    Any detailed suggestions or information is greatly appreciated.

    The whole format thing has been introduced in 1.5. The tutorial also states it's been "updated to 1.5.".
    That's all I've got to say for I don't know how you can format a PrintWriter, let alone a PrintStream, prior to 1.5. I'm not really sure there is any way. Any "legacy way", that is. There almost certainly are third-party API which achieve similar results.

    What is the best USB powered portable 1TB hard drive for a macbook pro that allows Time machine to work, windows (thru Parallels software) and mac storage and is available in Australia?

    I agree with teh OWC sggestion above, but why must it be USB powered? I find that far more unreliable, and the low power devices slow.
    I'd frankly get a good external enclosure and buy a bare drive.  But the OWC stuff is quite good - vastly better than some of the majors (WD being aprime example of stuff that's boderline quality and often not compatible)
