What is the default unlock code after updating to iOS 8

HAving never used app store I wanted to download an app and it forced me to update the operating system. Three hours later I had ios8. When I turned on the iPad this morning it wants an unlock pass code. I never selected one. Have never used iTunes have never backed anything up.
Now I can't use. What do I do . I see plug into computer dont have one this is nuts.

IIf you see the plug into iTunes message on the iPad, unfortunately, your iPad has gone into recovery mode and has to be restored using iTunes on a computer, there is no other way to unlock your iPad now.
SInce you are stuck anyway right now, try a reset of the device. I don't think it is going to fix things, but in the extremely unlikely event that what you are seeing in the iPad screen is a system software fluke, a reset could fix it.
Hold down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears on the screen. Let go of the buttons and let the iPad start up. I honesty don't hold out much hope that it will work, but it won't hurt and you are stuck anyway,
You can restore your iPad on any computer that is running iTunes, but you are going to lose everything on the device now and since you have no backup, you have to start all over again. If you live near an Apple Store, make a Genius Bar appointment and ask them to restore the iPad for you.

Thanks. Apparently Verizon isn't really "sorry to see the customer go". I'll simply buy an unlocked phone and be done with Verizon for good. Two years is to long to be treated like this by them. I bought my phone and should be able to use it with whatever carrier I want. It is no longer Verizon's phone. Yes I understand they own some of the stuff they put on my phone but by all means they can remove it. I didn't want their crap on their in the first place. A bit of advice for you as a new user. Please refrain from making assumptions and using hyperbole. Both get in the way of providing useful support. Not "everyone" has tried the basics, let alone know what they are. That's why they're here. These first steps in troubleshooting often fix the issue being asked. If this thread doesn't answer your question, move on and find one that does. Feel free to skip the thousands that advise a reset.

I locked my classic ipod and can't remember the original unlock code. Any way to reset the code without losing my music

I supposed you could try every combination possible. Since there are 4 slots to fill in and a possibility of 10 different numbers in each slot, the # of possibilities is 10x10x10x10 or 10,000. Probably not your cup of tea though.
Some users have had luck by simply connecting their iPod to your their iTunes library and performing a sync operation with iTunes Upon disconnecting it, they discovered it was no longer locked. That would be a worth a shot. If it does, make sure to immediately either change the combination or disable it altogether.
Or connect your iPod to your computer. Enable hidden files and folders on your PC or Mac and browse out to [iPod Drive/Letter] -> iPod_Control -> Device and remove the _unlocked unix executable file. Then properly disconnect your iPod and reset it necessary.

Unlock problem after update to iOS 7.1.1

I'm wondering is anyone of you encounter above mentioned problem after update to iOS 7.1.1.
Usually will switch off the phone during sleeping time, today woke up urn it on and wanted to check mail, the screen is freeze when enter the passcode.
Even try calling in with another phone also unable to get through. Passcode unable to key and stop at the 'enter passcode' screen.
After awhile it show the "apple" icon and turn off.
Any solutons to solve it?

I had the same problem that others are reporting after updating an iPhone to iOS 4.2.1 where all of my media disappeared. However I don't currently have access to my PC to sync with iTunes but have posted a really simple fix that worked for me here:

The advantage of this fix is that it doesn't need you to use iTunes which was important for me as I am currently away from my PC. I fixed my iPhone this way and I suspect the same would work on an iPod Touch or iPad.

You can only sync to one iTunes library but you can manage music and videos among different computer/libraries.
It appears that you are trying to sync with a different library.

--- Restore the iPod from that backup. Note that synced media like apps and music are not in included in the backup.

How to fix the lag in keyboard after updating to ios 7.1

My iPhone was recently update to iOS 7.1 as of the release date. As soon as it was done updating I unlocked my phone and the keyboard now and always lags and is not responsive unless you wait about a minute. I restored my iPhone and then restored it from backup and the issue continued. Can someone please help me solve this issue before the next bug update. Because I cannot text or type without waiting for my phone to respond.

I have read that going to settings, general, reset, reset keyboard dictionary has helped. In the past, it was found that going to settings, iCloud, turn off documents and data helped too.

Some of the contacts notes missing after update to iOS 4

Not the whole note from the contacts is on the iphone.
Home mac contacts notes ok
Mobileme ( web ) contact notes ok
But not on my iphone, something missing.
I've tried to delete all contacts on my Iphone and sync again, but it did not help.
it seems that there has been a reduction in length the notes on the IPhone.

I was having the same problem, I went to the "Apple Store" and a tech guy told me to back up everything on iTunes, and then load as a new phone.... Safari then worked... I then had to tell iTunes to reload all the apps and stuff on the new install... Don't know if this will help you, but I was having exactly the same problem with my Lotus notes webmail server.....

It's important to do this and not hold the Sleep/Wake button until the device restart, because I did that first and that's what started the problem. Remember, SLIDE TO POWER OFF is the trick.
I think this is a Facetime related problem now that it works over your cellular network, but I'm not sure. Let's hope more info to come along or a fix from apple be issue.

Here's what I did that I read in another thread that appears to have worked for the time being:
1. Go to settings-->Safari-->Clear Cookies and Data
2. You will get a pop that asks to you confirm that you would like to clear cookies and data, do it.
3. Restart your iPhone by holding the home button and on/off button UNTIL THE APPLE LOGO APPEARS ON THE SCREEN. Don't let go early.
4. If not connected to wifi, connect through settings menu.
Again, this fixed my problem but others are reporting that it did not work for them. Good luck and hopefully Apple will get a patch out ASAP.

Ipad disabled after updating to ios 8

I updated my ipad 2 to ios 8 and it asked for a password, I never had a lock on this device, I guessed the same one I have on my iPhone but that didn't work, now it is completely disabled. I don't have iTunes and never plugged this iPad into a computer.
Everything is pointing now to losing all my data, but I cannot!! there are pictures of my best friend that passed away in January, I cannot lose those! I see lots of people are having this problem PLEASE help me get my pictures. They are very dear to me.

I completely understand how you feel. This has happened to me as well when I updated to IOS 8 when it first came out and now I can't get into my Ipad. The difference is that I actually had a passcode on it and just typed it in just like the million other times I did and it says that the passcode was "wrong." I thought it was just a mistake so I did it again and it said it was "wrong again, please try in 15 minutes." This went on for about a day and when I tried to login again with the passcode it completely locked me out to where it says to "connect to itunes" which I did but the Ipad doesn't show up unless I put it into recovery mode, which doesn't help either because I don't want to restore my Ipad until I back it up first.
I even took it to the apple store to the genius bar and explained my situation and they couldn't even help me, saying that unless you have a backup on your computer there is no way to recover your data on your ipad before restoring it. I thought that was completely ridiculous that it wasn't my fault that the Ipad is disabled after updating to IOS 8 and that there is absolutely NO WAY of recovering your data. I even asked if there was 3rd party software that could backup the ipad before recovering and they couldn't give me that information either.
I have been looking all around the internet for a solution but to no avail. I hope there is some information out there that can help us because there has to be SOME WAY that you can get into your ipad and backup without having to rely just on itunes and icloud.
