What is the DI Server in service manager for?
Dear Experts,
Can anyone enlighten me on the above?
Warmest Regards,
Chinho
Dear Chinho,
You may find it easily through SDK help:
>SAP Business One - Data Interface Server (DI Server) is a Component Object Model (COM) service running on a server that enables multiple clients to access and manipulate SAP Business One company database
Simply speaking, you need it if you are using SDK or DTW.
Thanks,
Gordon

What is the windows server 2013 license version than I need to install workflow manager 1.0
what is the windows server 2013 license version than I need to install workflow manager 1.0?
enterprise or standard? can I install it on datacenter?
please provide me with the reference.
thanksWorkflow Manager will work with either SharePoint Enterprise or Standard. It doesn't work well with Foundations since it depends on User Profiles to pass user identity to the workflow. And yes you can install it on Windows Server datacenter edition.
Here are the supported platforms for installation
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj193487(v=azure.10).aspx
This article talks about integration with SharePoint and states that Foundation is not supported, but it doesn't differentiate between the Server editions, so any edition will do.

SQL 2012 R2 - SSRS with the Report Server Web Service URL, can't access
Hello:
I am installing Dynamics CRM 2013. When I am on RS Configuration manager; I am running into the SSRS (SQL 2012 on Server 2012)SQL issue, can't access the
http://servername/:80/ReportsServer or
http://servername/:Reports web pages
The database server has SSRS native mode installed, it is using a domain account for the service credentials. This account also has permission to log on a service in the GPO
Account is a domain admin and is a local administrator
SQL server is 2012 R2 on Windows Server 2012. User base is less than 60 people and they have SharePoint 13 on the same SQL server. Server more than enough resources.
Any assistance would be appreciated.
Thanks..DanHi DCas1,
According to your description, you could not access
http://servername/:80/ReportsServer or http://servername/:Reports web pages from Reporting Services configuration manager, SSRS in configured in native mode and the account you used is a local administrator.
In Reporting Services, URLs are used to access the Report Server Web service and Report Manager. Before we can use either application, we need to configure at least one URL each for the Web service and Report Manager. If we are using the Reporting Services
Configuration tool to create or modify the URLs, we can accept the default values for a URL or specify custom values. When we create a report server URL, we must specify the following parts: Host name, port and Virtual directory. In order to improve the efficiency
of troubleshooting, I need to ask several questions:
Since the default URL is http://<computername>/reportserver, did you type the URLs manually? or the URLs configured in Reporting Services configuration manager are
http://servername/:80/ReportServer and
http://servername/:Reports?
Could you provide detailed information of error log(default location: %programfiles%\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS11.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\LogFiles)?
For more information about Configuring a URL, please refer to the following documents:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms159261(v=sql.110).aspx
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb630447(v=sql.110).aspx
If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask.
Thanks,

Please help. Thanks for the link to the Reporting Services forum. I found the fix in this thread:
https://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=3644545&SiteID=1
I had to create a registry key and reboot:
1.
Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
2.
Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control
3.
In the right pane, locate the ServicesPipeTimeout entry.
Note If the ServicesPipeTimeout entry does not exist, you must create it. To do this, follow these steps:
a.
On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
b.
Type ServicesPipeTimeout, and then press ENTER.
4.
Right-click ServicesPipeTimeout, and then click Modify.
5.
Click Decimal, type 60000, and then click OK.
This value represents the time in milliseconds before a service times out.
6.
Restart the computer.
After the reboot, the service was running. Thanks for your help with this. -
I can't see the Reporting Workspace in Service Manager Console PLEASE HELP
I can't see the Reporting Workspace in Service Manager Console PLEASE HELP
Hello,
If you don't have an entry like "SQL Server Reporting Services (InstanceName)" in Windows Service Manager (Services.msc) then because SSRS service not installed on that machine. Install it, then you will see such an entry.
Olaf Helper
This is not an SQL issue it's a SC Service Manager issue. Reporting Services is installed and running on the SQL side. The problem is that as I am now aware I cannot get the Data Warehouse Server to register in the Service Manager consoles to connect that
with the canned reports and turn on Reporting Workspace. Any thoughts?

TF400525: Make sure the SQL Server Reporting Services service for this instance is running.Hi CFSA,
Thanks for your post.
If you want install TFS 2012 Server with Reporting Server, you must ensure the provided Reporting Services is running first.
As Daniel said, please check that in SQL Server Configuration Manager to ensure Reporting Services is installed and running.

Hello Kenny,
The main issue is not related to SQL server .SQL is at receiving end its hardware or the cables ( not sure which one) are the one causing issue.

What's the "web server" in WAS... ?
A non-SAP colleague of mine bugs me with questions like "what is the web server-part of WAS? It's Apache, right?"
Me being relatively ignorant about these specific down-to-earth technical sides to the WAS, means I have to ask: What IS the "web server" part of WAS...? Is it a brand new built-from-scratch web server, or did SAP bundle a 3rd-party product like Apache into the "basis" system?
TrondHi Trond,
good question. The SAP Application Server evolved into the SAP Web Application Server back in 2000 with the addition of the Internet Communication Manager (ICM). The ICM support the HTTP protocol (a web sever) and was written complete by SAP. SAP then introduced the SAP J2EE Engine, this to contains support for HTTP.
In a full blown Web AS (ABAP + J2EE), requests are sent to the ICM and then passed to either the ABAP stack (BSP apps) or the passed to the J2EE HTTP port if the request is for a J2EE web app.
So in short, SAP wrote their own Web Server...thus you don't need to purchase 3rd part web servers.
Hope this helps!
Cheers,

my Extensis suitcaseX 11.0.4 is no longer working with my system OSX10.6.8, what is the best and cheapest font management software to use that's compatible with this system and my existing CS design software?
If you upgraded to Snow Leopard, then it would seem that Suitcase 11 is not compatible with Snow Leopard and you'd need to buy Suitcase Fusion 3 for $99.95.

What is the cost of replacing a battery for an Ipad 2 in India? On asking the service centre, I was informed the entire Ipad would be replaced for 20K which is exorbitant. The same is done in US for a paltry (comparably) 100 dollars. Is it advisable to buy the Apple protection program in this case?

The SQL Server Reporting Services (MSSQLSERVER) service hung on starting.
Hi experts,
The SQL Server Reporting Services (MSSQLSERVER) service hung on starting.
we are receving these errors twice per week.
colud you share solution.Hi vijay_1234,
When you try to start SSRS, are you receive a time-out error or other errors?
To work around this problem, we can configure the computer so that the network does not retrieve trusted and untrusted CTLs. Please use one of the following methods:
Change the Group Policy settings.
Modify the registry.
Increase the default service time-out.
For more details, please refer to the following KB:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2745448
If the issue is still existed, please check RS Logs in the C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS11.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\LogFiles.
Hope this helps.
Thanks,
