Hi Surya
Bidding engine is the component in SAP SRM that we use to conduct RFx adn Live Auctions.
You can do RFx and Auctions both in SAP SRM and SAP E-Sourcing.
Inside SRM RFx is also called Bid Invitation.
In SAP E-Sourcing its called RFx (x could be I=Information, P=Proposal, Q=Quotation)
Bidding engine is the engine that powers sourcing.

I have answered this in the previous thread of yours
RFQ and bid invitation are the same, only that Q will be quotation.
In SAP terminology RFQ are genertally used in the back end application SAP R/3 (SAP MM)
RFx (x could be I=Information, P=Proposal, Q=Quotation)

As Khan told, business connector is old technolgy and it has almost same functionlities like in XI.
both are mainly used for converts idoc's into xml format....
GOA: Global outline agreemnts mainly used when srm is having multiple backend systems. with reference to GOA , we can create local contracts in backend systems ...

Workitem is nothing but some action is required for that particular item.
Internal message is nothing but just for information purpose.
Per example if employee create a shopping cart then it goes to approver ..from approver poin of view this SC his work item.

Hi,
In SRM there are different Partner functions like REQUESTER, GOODS RECIPIENT, VENDOR ,LOCATION.
All the org units or users in SRM will have a unique identification number called Business Partner Number maintained in table BUT000.
The users can have differnt partner functions in differnt documents and accordingly mainatained in table CRMD_PARTNER.

In basic terms, MDM is latest solution & will be replacing CCM. All new features like service hierarchies are included in MDM 3.0.
CCM: upload, manage, and search in procurement catalogs.

It is the Classification of conditions as per the categories ,Say for example Freight condition types you have the same conditon category

ESSCMD is the original command line interface for administration commands you would use with ESSBASE.
MAXL is the new version of the command line interface or data definition language that is more language driven and is what the new version releases can use to replace or even coexist with ESSCMD.

I am MM consultant; new to SRM.
I am trying to prepare list of difference between "RFx" and "Auction" for better understanding of the subject. I am able to see some differences, for example,
1. In Auction "Weights and Scores" tab is not available, where as this facility is not available in RFx?
(I hope this observation is correct?)

In RFx there are three option
RFI- Request for Information.
RFQ- Request for Quoation
RFP- Request for Proposal
In Auction.
There are two types is Live Auction and Reverse Auction
In Rfx the time limit is in days -Start date and End date
In Auction the time limit is in Hours or minutes - Say 30 minutes or one hour
In RFX -once the bids are sent to the vendor you can change only upto the End date of the bid
In Auction -you can change any minutes or sec because it is a live auction
In RFX . you cannot able to see the price of the competitor
IN Live Auction -you can see the price of the competitor and you can bid.
Normally after RFX only the supplier wishes he can convet to LIVE AUCTION to get the better price.
For eg there are three vendors - A,B,C --The prices quoted are Rs 95, 96,97 respectively.
All the vendors are good. inorder to get the price advantage the supplier will convert the RFx into Live auction .
In that the supplier will get the prices say close to Rs 90 /- because of Live auction.

Can some one tell me the difference between replication and Oracle streams, When I look into the documentation, it says to use the Oracle EM Console to setup the Replication.But I am not sure how do I download the Oracle EM Console.

Replication is a Neolithic, perhaps Paleolithic, technology that slightly improved replication over what we did back in the days when we lived in caves and spoke only using grunts and hand motions.
Replication is hard to set up, hard to maintain, and essentially guaranteed to give you full-time employment and loss of hair due to gaps created by transactions that do not replicate correctly and network issues.
Streams is far from perfect but is vastly superior in terms of flexibility, gap resolution, and performance.
When looking at Streams also look at Change Data Capture (CDC). If CDC will do the job don't do Streams directly. Use the simplified API.

What's the diff between ThreadPoolRuntime and WorkManagerRuntime?

I'm trying to get a better understanding of the metrics I can retrieve from the JMX MBeans deployed by default. Can someone tell me what the difference is between the only instance of a weblogic.management.runtime.ThreadPoolRuntimeMBean in our managed server and the various weblogic.management.runtime.WorkManagerRuntimeMBean instances for each of our EARs (as well as for weblogic.system.Kernel)?
Does the ThreadPoolRuntimeMBean represent all of the JVM-level threads that each of the WorkManagers use? If so, would I be safe in assuming that the value of the 'CompletedRequests' attribute on a WorkManagerRuntimeMBean could NEVER be greater than the value of the 'CompletedRequestCount' attribute on the ThreadPoolRuntimeMBean at any given time?
Using an example, let's say that I have WorkManagerA, WorkManagerB and the weblogic.system.Kernel WorkManager. If I got the following values:
WorkManagerA.CompletedRequests = 5
WorkManagerB.CompletedRequests = 6
WorkManager[weblogic.system.Kernel].CompletedRequests = 4
then should I have a ThreadPoolRuntimeMBean.CompletedRequestCount >= 15 ?
Any tutorials would be greatly appreciated.
